True; but then again, if "original settlers" were the single criterion to arrogate claims to land, then the Arabs and even the Berbers shouldn't lay claim to Egypt, Morocco and Algeria as their ancestral lands.

You are right that Christianity is all about independence, freedom etc. Jesus well say he who is without sin show cast the first stone.

A sharia marriage has no bearing on personal status under UK law. The Muslim Arbitration Tribunal has no jurisdiction on criminal matters but can attempt reconciliation between spouses.
