How do you know this?

ASS U ME angry

How else would he have done it without access to the original CAD files? Or maybe the architects’ contract with the client include DWG file sharing.

I say this because we see it happening ALL the time since the dawn of CAD as a drafting tool.

Maybe it’s a Nigerian thing.

Why would I pay for plans without the CAD files?

Anyway, the Indians of Fiverr will continue to chop and clean mouth.

Most architects would provide you pdf or dwf files. If you’re getting the dwg file, it must have been paid for in some way.

It contains more than clients work but trade secret of some architects. cool

The changes pompoms requires can be done by the same architect (this is what I said), but if the architect is inflexible and not reasonable with the billing, a draftsman can be an excellent option at a fraction of the price. The changes are just cosmetic. There is already an approved plan.[/quote]

I agree with your suggestions.

Pompoms should approach the design architect to effect the changes. He has the soft copies and can easily effect the changes before He/ She seeks other alternatives.

Why are you making it sound like .dwg is life support in ICU unit during Covid-19. DWG is just a file extension for CAD drawings.

You can easily convert your PDF to DWG (free and open software online) and make any changes you want. Is there something I don't get?

Smiles. Baba, it’s not that easy.

@true2home had both (dwg and pdf) from me when we worked on his L-Pad project. He’d be in best position to explain the conversion of pdf to dwg

It’s very bad we have lots of people in here who are only after getting jobs and not to educate or add value to people in here.
These are topics that needs broad enlightenment.

Oga ya'all be relaxing.
Noble doesn't always mean expensive either.

He should never have quoted an amount in the first instance.....
If you're a draughtsman will you collect #10,000 given the client's brief........

I would even prefer the client give the original plan to the architect or whoever did the design or let the engineer/builder handling the project effect the changes.......
If the client is using an engineer it should be an easy thing to do......

Don't look down the professional ladder with ridicule. There is a marked difference between an architect and a draughtsman. This is not contestable. However, each has its role in the building and technical trade.

We know an Architect is required to study at a university for 5 -7 years with a minimum of two years of practical experience in an Architect’s office before they can sit registration exams, allowing them to practice independently. Or something close. A good degree in Architecture will normally focus on studying form, functions, and the three-dimensional interpretation of space. We also know that an Architect is better at seeing the entire scope of the project and design, contemplating not only the size of a space but also the flow of the layout, the functionality of the space.

However, this is not to look down on a draughtsman. A Draughtsman will typically study a two-year diploma in drafting at a technical school or Polytechnic. A Draughtsman, being trained in technical drawing and construction, will produce drawings that will work, but MAY lack the creativity and ingenuity in design. An architect can also fall prey to this as well.

If the project is a big construction project, particularly if it’s a commercial build, an architect is recommended. This is to ensure the construction is built safely, with the correct materials, and abides by all necessary building regulations. However, if the project is relatively simple like a bungalow or merely looking to renovate or make changes to a home, an experienced draughtsman can be an excellent option at a fraction of the price.

Theorizing....
How many of the designs gotten off Fiverr and the rest are done by architects

It's a Nigerian thing o.

Online architectural sites let you choose the formats you want in addition to giving pdf.
But our Nigerian architect won't dare that; it's only paper they'll give you.
