For all those who keep making false parallels between farmers and herdsmen, I have this for you:

1) All nigerian farmers are nigerian
2) A huge number of fulani herdsmen in nigeria are not nigerian.

3) Nigerian farmers pay taxes and use their own land to grow their crops.
4) fulani herdsmen do not pay taxes and do not use their own lands to feed their cows, they go into the land of the farmers and steal the products of the farmers hard work and in many cases kill him and rape his daughters or wives.

5)Fertilizer subsidy is not done in nigeria alone, it is done in almost all countries on earth. It is not meant to make the farmers happy, it is meant to guaranty food security for the people of the country by reducing the price of fertilizer and therefor making it easy for anybody to operate a farm. This subsidy doesn't stop fulani herdsmen to take advantage of it and buy cheap fertilizer to operate their own farms.

6) It seems you are unaware of the fact that herdsmen are way less important for a nation than farmers. Every country needs farmers for food security, no country needs cows for food security.

Congratulations to Paramount for making the shortlist.

"Some breaking news: US SOCOM has selected five aircraft to participate in the Armed Overwatch flight demonstration. They are: Beechcraft AT-6, AirTractor AT-802U, Leidos Bronco II, MAG Aerospace MC-208 and Sierra Nevada M28/C-145. Super Tucano A-29 is out."

I find it interesting that Sierra Nevada submitted both M28 and Super Tucano for this programme. Oh well, hedging their bets.

And in other developments:

"Three A-29s are being delivered to AFSOC later this year, but not for Armed Overwatch. They will be used to train 6th SOS instructors for Combat Aviation Advisor embeds with foreign A-29 operators."

Personal opinion, not a reflection on Super Tucano, which I think is a superb platform:
I'm always wary when countries export weapons which they themselves have rejected in open competition. That goes for SA, Russia, Turkey, China and all other arms exporters.

In this particular case, that Paramount and US partners were late entrants and still made the shortlist is a success. Even if they're not chosen - I don't think they'll win it - their marketing in other countries improves dramatically when the premier military on the planet shortlists you in a programme run by their Special Operations Command.

And what's your definition?

The attention of the Nigerian Army (NA) has been drawn to an ill-informed publication by an online news medium Sahara Reporters of 11 May 2021 where it was alleged that Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province had distributed Ramadan welfare packages to some residents of Borno and Yobe States. The article went on to give breakdown of the food items distributed including cash which the publisher alleged was meant to entice the locals to join the terrorists ranks. The article then switched to speak on the 2019 report of International Crisis Group which tended to pour encomiums on the terrorists recruitment system since breaking away from the Abubakar Shekau's faction. Unfortunately the article did not mention any specific location where the alleged distribution took place.

The NA being a professional organisation decided to look at the article with every seriousness with a view to making intelligence out of it. However, our analysis established that there was nothing substantial about the claim except that it was a hurriedly packaged piece of propaganda that was meant to distract the populace away from the recent defeats being suffered by the terrorists. It is a notorious fact that the terrorists at various times have made several attempts to make the lives of the residents of these states miserable through the Ramadan season which were met with overwhelming response from the troops of Operation Hadin Kai. The most recent of such being their failure to sneak into Maiduguri on 11 May 2021 same day this ill-conceived article was published. The fate of the terrorists that made that audacious attempt is already a public knowledge.

The author of this article displayed his/her clear lack of situational awareness by getting designation of the various terrorist groups moduled up. In the self-styled amateurish publication, there was no single mention of any community that the said distribution took place which is indicative of the fact that there was indeed no community or village where such activity took place. The writer consciously omitted such an important part knowing that once a name is attached to the publication it would be much easier to unravel the motive behind it, which is simply to mislead the unsuspecting readers.

Our team of eagle-eyed analysts went further to critically examine the pictures attached to this malicious publication and discovered that they were simply stage-managed in a typical terrorists-styled propaganda. The uncoordinated director of the photo shoot presented the pictures according his IQ and decided to measure the standard of the Nigerian public from his own personal standing. He used two poorly constructed shacks sited in the wilderness in multiple scenes by simply changing the arrangement of items and introducing different faces to make it look like an existing structure. He later posted a truck loaded with bags and a few terrorists on it parked in the middle of nowhere. A closer look at the background of all the pictures clearly showed an empty forest with no signs of human habitation or activity except the few terrorists and some children that must have forcefully taken away from their parents. These facts therefore met every known style of the terrorists propaganda.

The million dollar question here is why the choice of Sahara Reporters as the medium to propagate such unfounded piece that failed every test of professional journalism? Could it be that the terrorists find the media outfit fertile enough for propagating their devilish stories? These are questions that demand answers from the publishers of this piece of disinformation.

The NA therefore calls on the general public to disregard this article as it is nothing but a tissue of lies aimed at misleading them. The NA under the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru will continue to maintain the pressure on the remnants of terrorists hibernating in the forests around the North Eastern borders until they are completely obliterated.

You are kindly requested to disseminate this information to the general public through your medium.

Whyem15:
We've all discussed the quality of NA recruits recently and I came across something on Twitter that made me do a bit more research on it.
The bulk of NA's fighting force are usually from either depot recruitment or ex boys from NMS. The depot recruitment course is a crash course of about 6 months while the NMS is basically a secondary school that uses four days of the week for academic studies and a day for military training for 6 years(military training will definitely be continuous and everyday in one way or another) throughout the week. It is only normal to expect soldiers from NMS to be far better than those that passed through the depot training.
Now, knowing that the 7 division is basically new and isn't even up to full strength yet, the bulk of their force are those trained in depot within six months. I don't know Sha but I think this is the reason for the poor quality. If NA can work on the training at the depot, things might change.
Is it not the Nigerian Military School in Zaria you're talking about, or there is another NMS huh

Nigerian police, nigerian army, these relics of british conquest of the region have finally deteriorated to a very high extent. What didn't help their case is the fact they are foreign entities, colonial tools and also the extremely bad leadership by the likes of buhari and buratai, and their unrivalled corruption.

For the dreamers of super tucano I have just one question for you: where are the jf17 ? You guys were extremely deluded with the jf17 saying that the military chiefs which have now retired were so good and uncorrupted that the deal were done, "it will soon come".

Please stop fooling yourselves.

Well the good news is, there are still nigerian civilians willing to fight and help protect the government, regardless of how much they might be getting paid.
The sad reality though, is that the idiots who are supposed to protect the people and maintain law and order are the ones being protected lol, ain't that awkward . No police dept worth a dime should stoop that low. It shows they've lost control.
If this is true that is

General Joshua Nimyel Dogonyaro is dead

Dogonyaro, a Former Field Commander of ECOMOG, died in Jos on Thursday morning according to family sources.

The retired general was popular for being a member of the ‘langtang Mafia’ during his days in the military. He was also responsible for announcing the coup that removed current President, Muhammadu Buhari from power in 1985.

He read the coup speech that ousted the Buhari military junta and brought in the Ibrahim Bademosi Babangida junta on August 27, 1985. Born in 1940 at Vom Missionary Hospital, Vom, Plateau State, he attended Saint Peter CMS Primary School, Bukuru, from where he gained admission into Boys’ Secondary School, Gindiri.

He later moved to Dental Technology School, Broad Street, Lagos, gaining admission into the Nigerian Defense Academy, Kaduna shortly after.

He was aged 80.

Definitely my dad's generation of soldiers were real soldiers.
I can only feel the pain of these guys who removed buhari from power only to see the masses accept the biggoted fool as president long after.
How dumb is the nigerian public ?
General Malu, Grneral Azazi, General MC Ali would all be turning in their graves to see what the army and the country have become...

They are all offshoot of the colonial force and their training is basically to protect the colonial government or government of the day and never the people..that's why they always come out in force against the civilians when they see that the government is threatened and don't care what the government did to warrant the backlash from the people but the good thing is as sell swords the run whenever they meet civilians with equal arms...!!

I see that some publications are still pushing the "NAF buys 24 M-346 aircraft" story.
So much that Leonardo has had to issue a statement saying "we have no such contract with Nigeria".

I really do not understand people who deliberately spread falsehoods online.
