Is this how they judge football ?

Pure beer parlour talk

If Leicester wins ndidi is better ,if Chelsea wins Kanté is better ,we are talking about individual players and you are here trying to judge by the team who wins

I repeat ,your analysis is pure beer parlour

Lol not just this game but we're going to analyse the 2 toe toe in this game and see how each other perform against each other. Nothing beer parlour about it just consult your Dibya and post your predictions

If we go to Afcon or the world cup like this (that's if we qualify like this) Nigeria go chop disgrace. Because all an opponent needs to do is cut off our wingers and then we become useless. Very useless. That was how Algeria won us at the semi final the other time.

So one would assume that by now our coach realizes that we need a creative/attacking midfielder so bad. We need to be strong at all front instead of relying on the flanks alone. That's been our weakness since Mikel Obi left.

And the worse part is that we have a coach who is hell bent on maintaining the status quo—who doesn't want to take risks but remain in his comfort zones of utilizing farmiliar players he believes in, instead of being bold.

I have come to the conclusion that our strength is not with the coach knowing how to qualify us for toneys. Our weakness is in the coach being scared to dare. He is always talking like a defeated soldier. He is never ready or willing to experiment because he's scared of losing like he did against South Africa the other time.

Hence he relies on his trusted allies.

He has tried,no doubt, and I'm not here to crucify him or be ungrateful. But I'm saying that with the arsenals at our disposal now, we wont win Chichi or trophy if we allow Rohr keep being too comfortable.

For instance, a Sam Allardyce, Klopp, Josse, or Sari would win the world cup with this team. These are bold and fearless coaches who take massive risks. That's the only challenge Rohr has.

Invite new CREATIVE midfielders and see if we won't dominate the world football for years to come, and not all these Oyenka, Etebo, and co. Bring in Midfielders who give eye popping passes and long passes that tears defences into two. We lack that. And until we fix that. Nothing but disgrace at the toneys next year.

Well, you really cannot blame some of them. But you do have a point about the lads in question for our midfield reinforcement being mostly from second tiers (La liga Smartbank and the Championship) thus all should be treated equally as having a chance of an invite as long as they are doing well.

Truth is K.Nwakali has always been castigated here for a long time and rightly so too for a while because he was really struggling to get it going in his career but I always personally believed in his talents and never stopped being positive about his chances of a comeback just almost same way I stood ground on Iheanacho and even on Osimhen during his Wolfsburg injury struggles.

So now that Nwakali is looking good again and getting back to his best again, I guess some folks don't wanna be too quick to jump on the "invite Nwakali" train. While some other folks are perhaps not keen on having him at all because they always castigated him and labelled him a lad who will never make it again.

But to be honest, putting aside all that, we need that lad. He knows this midfield game and has improved so much. A player like him will give us dealt good depth and quality in the middle going forward.

I have taken my time in not being too pushy about an Nwakali invite because I was more keen on seeing him perform consistently in La Liga Smartbank and really get back to his best but now 15-games-and-a-club-POTM-award-later, I think we better speed up his invite as we cannot wait to reinforce a department we desperately need legs in. Not just any legs, quality legs. And Nwakali is quality.

My own is that fine if people don't want to salivate over nwakali, then they shouldn't advocate for Olise and ejaria because all 3 of them are in the lower division of the Famous "Big 3 leagues" I don't know why our people are obsessed with anything foreign

Well said. Strengthening our Midfield depth is the topmost priority especially in the central and Attacking midfield roles.

Since Olise and Ejaria are not yet sorted to play for us, then we can turn to the available midfield talents we've got because time is going. We need our Midfield depth options to begin blending with one another. We cannot keep having our midfield looking so lean on international assignment until just Olise arrives. We even need more than just an Olise reinforcement in the middle.

Honestly, I have watched the Abraham Marcus lad and he is a very decent young talent but there was absolutely no need to invite him as he cannot displace anyone from the First XI right now plus we have a lot of wing/wide forward options.

Also, if Rohr could go as far as the Portuguese second tier (The Segunda Liga) to invite Marcus, I see no reason why he should ignore a lad doing well in the La Liga Smartbank (a second tier on a higher level to what obtains in Portugal) and the Turkish Super Lig especially as the lads in question are midfielders that can come into a dept where we desperately need more options.

Honestly, this list screams corruption in certain quarters. It is diabolical to see Rohr ignore a department we need reinforcement in only to go pick a lad from a second tier not rated higher than the ones where we have a few midfield options and worse that the lad is a winger/wing forward when we have lots of that. Then add to the fact that the initial NFF list didn't have Onuachu included at first. Had Balogun included and Semi Ajayi listed twice as both a CB and a MF.
Then they corrected it and got Onuachu into the list finally. Kept Semi Ajayi in one position as CB. And removed Balogun's name. Also, Ikechukwu Ezenwa?? Really??
Something is not right with the way the list was drawn up. The Glass House is a joke.

My thinking is they told Rohr to list his 23 players with 2 reserves and NFF filled up the rest.

I don't know why our coaches keep selecting an imbalance squad. How do one select 13 forwards/wingers and only 4 Midfielders when games are controlled and won In midfield. Where are the technical advisors, assistant coaches and scouts input in Rohr imbalanced squad? Although, I think the squad is Good enough to defeat cameroun, my doubt stems when we're selected to play against a much tougher opposition in Africa i.e (Algeria, Senegal) or worldwide (Brazil, Argentina). Coaches, please when selecting a 23 man squad, make sure it is a balanced Squad like 3,7,7, 6 or 3,7,6,7 not 8 4 8. Personally, it would had been better If our coach had selected more Midfielders like Nwakali, Onyeka and help them grow than bombarding the team with forwards. Do Rohr plan to utilize a 424 formation? Please, no one should be deceived if we defeat cameroun with this inbalanced Squad and journalists must ask Rohr Valuable Questions regarding selecting imbalanced squad and clubless players.

Nigeria should respect it's legend but super eagles isn't a place to rehabilitate Out of Form players

@TheSuperNerd,
Beautiful tactical formation scenarios you built up there with your usual thorough analysis. Please, if our captain in Ahmed Musa is so inevitable as claimed by the coach, how come his role or impact is never mentioned by you. Because if other players are to be in his shoes, they would be dispensed with totally. We once had Ekong, omeruo, Shehu, Balogun etc., left out in the past for not playing at club level not to talk of being clubless. Is this not a lie in disguise. How come our football administrators & tacticians are not looking in the same direction or tactical scenarios as decribed by you. All they think of is what is coming in for them. Why do they like fire brigade approach so much and constantly running around in the same circle.

The thing is baffling, to think that Rohr has drawn up to eight consecutive lists with a scarcity of midfielders shows there's something fundamentally wrong with him

It's almost as if they have bribed journalists because no one is asking questions. People already forgot that Rohr Lied to us about Musa in the last game. He said that Musa was invited only for motivation purpose and wouldn't play no part in games vs Lesotho/Benin yet, Musa played few minutes vs Lesotho. The man has done a relatively good Job considering how bad we were when he inherited us but if he looks like he can't go further. My only fear is that if we terminate Rohr, we don't have the finances to hire a world class coach and might just return back to local Coaches which might might the team Regress. From frying pan to Fire. I heard Rohr salary is owed in arrears for 6 months. Please, tell me any world class coach that can endure such Nonsense

Yeah this is the question I ask myself, has nobody asked him about the scarcity of midfielders in his team lists, even the NFF handler notices it and puts Ajayi and Shehu as midfielders to limit the outroar, this is honestly absurd

About Musa, there is no use asking about it, we know the endgame the invites will not stop until he reaches his 100 caps, we just have to live with it

we lack a creative midfielder in this current super eagles set up . Base on the list I only see Three recognize midfielder. I pray those midfielder will not have injury cos we don't have adequate replace from them.

we will be blaming Paul Onauchu for not scoring when he plays for the super eagles when we don't have quality midfielder that can give a pass just like xavi and iniesta. One of my problem with Rohr is that he does not like to take risk you can easily predict him . Am sure Shehu Abdullahi and Ahmed Musa will make the final list of 23 that will face Cameroon next month in Austria.
