I want your honest opinion on a issue bothering me.

So recently I got a teaching job that pays 25k per month, this job also comes with a free accommodation, a stone throw from the school(which means no transport fare). I was offered this accommodation due to the fact that my place is very far from the school.
Also, just today, a friend got a marketing job in a popular real estate company who only pays based on commission meaning no customer, no payment, but it comes with weekly stipends for transport. This has left me at crossroads presently and I'm not sure of the best decision to take right now. Please I need your advise...

Hope you can talk well and convince people, marketing is not easy o and how sure are you people patronise will you?

In short don't leave your certain money making job for something that's not sure.

Teaching job - depends on the area and the subject. If Lagos, you might add private tutorship to it. You might end up earning high.

Marketing gives you opportunity to go about and probably meet a better opportunity


BTW, I have taught before and my pay was 25k during goodluck's tenure. 25k was not enough then. I wonder how it will serve now that buhari has taken over.

While I was teaching, I got private teaching jobs but before I knew it, I got a better job and I left everything teaching. While in my new place of work, I discovered that education is actually enslaving graduates more if you have no connection. At that point, I planned going into business and today I'm happy I did.

Teaching job,marketing now it is not easy but that teaching you can grow and start taking lessons and you can get more than that salary in amonth.

I know how much parents pay for each child for extra lessons monthly.

You can even grow in teaching if you have the qualifications but if you know you are going in for teaching because of frustration or lack of job ,you may not make it.

Teaching is way to go if you are really in for it,wishing you success.

Go for the teaching job. Marketing job is mentally and physically exhausting plus if you don't meet the daily target no one is gonna pay you shit bro.

You may do that marketing for 6 without convincing anyone to come and patronize you

Choose none. Marketing is a better option if you have persuasive and good communication skills with good networking skills.
If you lack these three skills, marketing is not for you.
Teaching job on its own is very demanding and time consuming and certainly won't allow you time to search for better jobs. 25k job under this wicked regime no bam.

OP, teaching is better. It is stable consistent income with free accomodation. Like someone said earlier, add private tutorship and you'll earn more. Marketing's salary, which is based on commission isn't easy o. Unless you know people who will be interested in buying the product.

okay... I will say marketing if you are going to sell FMCG, maybe like edibles or consumables but you see ESTATE and INSURANCE marketing na no go area ooo..... make you no sweat and not get your 10%...



Why I will take the teaching job.... A home away from home will give me enough time to think and focus on myself while I teach.... As you teach, grab a laptop closer to you and start applying for those scholarship programs or run an M.Ed with NOUN...

you can also work with the estate firm while you teach by marketing their product online and also reach a percentage agreement with them and forget about the stipend
