Pay N28m Or Lose 52 Captives In Our Custody ― Boko Haram Warns Adamawa Community

…Community leaders plead with Buhari, Gov Fintiri to intervene to save captives

Many weeks after Boko Haram terrorists invaded Kwapre community in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State and made away with no fewer than 52 members of the area, the insurgents have sent a demand notice to the village head to either pay a ransom of N28 million or lose the captives.

The terrorists, who are said to be emboldened by the proximity of the community to the dreaded Sambisa Forest and its inaccessibility by security agencies, have also threatened to be taking taxes from the community, which they now patrol with ease.

During the deadly attack on the community last month, the terrorists did not only kill 11 members of the village, but they also razed many houses and looted valuables belonging to the besieged community.

Arewa Voice gathered that majority of the captives are women and children whose parents, husbands and relatives are now wondering whether they are alive or dead, having not been seen since they were seized by the terrorists for over five weeks running.

Alarmed by the demand notice by the terrorists, the Village Head of Kwapre, Joel Kulaha, has sent a Save-Our-Soul plea to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Adamawa State Governor, Alhaji Fintiri, to come to the rescue of the people.

The village head lamented that they neither have the huge amount of money demanded by the terrorists nor know how to reach them for any form of negotiation to secure the release of their people from captivity.

The royal fathers called on the Governor to do everything possible towards securing the release of their relations, saying that their situation calls for concern and immediate intervention.

True. You rehearse tactics, battle plans countless time before it happens. But when it happens, those tactics disappear until sometimes when you already losing it. War is a bitch
I don't agree with you. There is no way a soldier that have been trained well will suddenly forget those tactics during a firefight.

A well trained soldier that is not compose during a firefight has nothing to do with a fighting unit.

easy to say but that's not how it works irl. Most high level training goes out the window at first contact. Theres even a saying about this that goes something like "No plan survives first contact".

The nigerian army recruitment process is lopsided in favor of the north, face reality.
them.
The North have more states, so there will always be more soldiers from the North.

North West-7
North Central-6
North East-6
6+6+7=19
19+1(Abuja is in the North Central)=20

The south have just 17 states.

Members of the Borno CJTF were recruited because the terrain were peculiar to them. You must understand that some of those members, were sent to the depot at kaduna for basic military training and later redeployed to the theatre of war. We talked about experience. The army is trying to get experienced hands on deck
Forget all this talk. They should have also employed an equal amount of men in other parts of the country to balance things up.

Federal character principles must be applied to everything.

When some monickers begin to tell me not to compare our military with others, I need to remind them that in the last 7 years, our military's budget has been unprecedented. So what are the service chiefs and military high command doing with all the money?

The men on the ground know this and thus they don't feel its fair to give their lives for a country they feel has abandoned them

I hope this paints you a picture of the real situation.

No I'm not a cadet. I was an aspirant not too far in the past.

Yeah, you would survive and thrive. Military training is more about mental toughness than physical toughness. In fact the muscular friends I had all dashed out before they could finish their first year. I wish you luck
All those female cadets that were giving admission into NDA to study for 5 years during the GEJ administration. Them suppose don graduate around 2016 or 2017, who knows how the ones in the army(infantry) are fairing? cool

If BHTs lose +21,000 soldiers then they are done for. But that is not to say they are not suffering loses too after all they are on an unprecedented recruitment drive which might be because of huge loses they suffered at the beginning of the year.

My Question remains how are they suffering the losses?

We really need a proper massive operation in Borno.

3rd marine commandos that performed the first Amphibious landing in Africa, was victorious in operation tiger claw which successfully blockaded the Biafrans from the Sea, was commanded by Benjamin Adekunle the Black Scorpion, he decimated Major Ogbo Orji of the Biafran army & further led an incursion to Bonny & Opobo for a total Water Blockade.

Adekunle was later redeployed to DHQ Lagos when Ojukwu distracted the blockade by making a desperate land incursion to Ore through Benin, his task as he was told was to protect Lagos, Before then he had terribly lost in the first battle of Owerri (the last capital of Biafra), Operation OAU where his men were brutally crushed by Kalu & Joe Achuzie, two formidable Biafran commanders.

two years later, command of the 3rd marine commandos went to Olusegun Obasanjo who returned to Owerri in the final days of the war & dealt a severe blow on Kalu & Achuzie leading to the surrender of the Biafran forces by their 2nd in Command Gen. Affiong, understandably because the Coward Ojukwu had taken to his heels through Uli improvised airport.

Ardent historians of the Nigerian civil war unanimously agree the 3rd marine commando was the Bulwark of the Nigerian federal forces.

There was no time Adaka boro commanded the 3rd marine commando, never!!
Hmmm. Did i say he commanded the division? He commanded a brigade. I forgort the brigade number.

I will estimate more than that. If every air interdiction and CAS kills at least 3 terrorist everyday such operations are carried out and we have such operations 1/4 of the year, that alone is almost 400 terrorists killed by the airforce alone. The frequency of air operations might be much lower than the estimate but we all know the casualties is much higher per air operation.

This is the reason I'm glad Nigeria will be receiving more fixed and rotary wing platforms which will result in increase in frequency of air operations. This will dissuade bandits and terrorist from setting up camps and aggregating in meaningful numbers from fear of being bombarded by the airforce which will in turn lead to significant reduction in their capabilities.
The low operating cost of the super tucanos is another advantage that will eventually increase frequency of air operations.

DHQ should start thinking about getting high resolution military satellites that will reduce the use of ISR aircrafts while covering large areas of land. It will also be very useful for border security.

Yeah, many of the GEJ girls have passed out. For a while after 67rc they stopped accepting ladies for Army but they're back to that. The ones I met then especially NC girls, very Packard!

Furthermore most of the ladies will likely not be in Infantry.

Seasoned NCO I laughter

You know why most NA NCOs aren't seasoned? Let me give you an example...

A retired NCO was interviewed by sahara reporters and he said that when it came time to send them (NCOs) for training abroad, senior officers will drop rank and take their slots and that it had become common place such that it was seen as the norm...

And you tell me that money ain't enough...Now just look at that scenario.

Instead, our NCOs are left to themselves to learn what they can from combat (that is if they survive)
