Seasoned NCO I laughter

You know why most NA NCOs aren't seasoned? Let me give you an example...

A retired NCO was interviewed by sahara reporters and he said that when it came time to send them (NCOs) for training abroad, senior officers will drop rank and take their slots and that it had become common place such that it was seen as the norm...

And you tell me that money ain't enough...Now just look at that scenario.

Instead, our NCOs are left to themselves to learn what they can from combat (that is if they survive)
cheesy Senior officers will drop rank and become what? NCOs? grin Lwkm

I doubt if a military office will drop rank for training.

Except you meant he used connections to go for a training meant for personnel below his rank.

intel reaching me. the nigeria sf and army on a strike mission starting from friday to sunday came under heavy fire from iswap , the gallant officer repelled the attack and killed almost all the fighter, the gallant officer took another mission and attack a iswap location killing more, another good news from samba axis but not clarified yet. nigeria men advancing to gumbumil in gudzmala came under ambush from iswap the gallant officer fought their way killing the iswap fighter ,sadly three solider went down. the number of iswap and bh that died a yearly are much more than the men of the nigeria army, calculate from air interdiction, artillery strike, mortal strike direct combat and more and you will see that bh ansd iswap loss more fighter than the Nigeria army

When we begin to think like this, we will never win. The Americans thought like this in Vietnam and ended paying with nearly 58000 men dead after nearly 16 years of prolonged battle.

See, we aren't fighting a war of attrition - that is let me kill more of you than me- NO. We are fighting to end terrorism once and for all. Whilst its good news to kill more of them, we shouldn't forget the overall goal

Baba, let's also not forget that this is Nigeria, a nation of the absurd and anything is possible. See, when it comes to sharp and corrupt practices (even in the Armed Forces) Naija no dey carry last. Bros, I didn't want to believe him at first but I remembered that this is Nigeria and they always have their ways around this kind of things

I’m not weird Oga. Do you know where Insurgency is in Borno? Why did you think I said it should be in North and not South?

There is a reason for that statement.

I'm talking about your comment when you asked how many men does bh lose?
And I reminded you of your previous statement you made that the operation TTB is impactful, but it's only happening in South Borno, that the military should take the fight to ISWAP in the north Borno.
You can see the many loss JAS has suffered this year and how weak they are, if they are not losing many men, why would they be very weak compared to ISWAP?

But remember it was I'm this same country that IDPs were being raped and someone claimed to cut grass for hundreds of millions of Naira..Another person said monkey stole money..

See, as for me, anything in the could.try is possible and if a soldier comes tomorrow to expose sharp practices of his superior, I won't just throw his claims into the trash

During SBS selection and qualifications all officers and rating, are trained together irrespective of rank or rate, though the officers are pushed more than the ratings and all act as course mates, but as a rating in training you can try yourself and enjoy what might come later with heavy malice... Also there are courses you would do, that even non-commissioned personnel would lecture you, and you must be subordinate to them, during the duration of the course.

You don't need to agree. It's how shit is. That's why the military does its best to train men to carry out orders because many times that's all a man may be able to do in a firefight — carry out orders from his seasoned NCO
Will a soldier that is confuse be able to follow an order?

In thinking of the Ipob guys and Nnamdi Kanu, they actually believe that if a war breaks out, the southerners in the Nigerian Army would take sides with their tribes, but Kanu would be shocked when Southern officers in the Army would lead Nigeria Army troops to southern states, all in a bid to be in the good books of the fulani Generals and government officials, heading things in the Nigerian Army. Ahmed Taiwo is a yoruba man, but he was responsible for killing yorubas in lekki tollgate. After that loyal act of his, he was immediately promoted from a Brig. Gen. to a Maj. Gen.
Misinformation. It wasn't taiwo that lead the operation tho.
But his men were used. U can research it

Military Authorities Owe Us Uniform, Boot Allowances, We Can’t Afford Housing Scheme – Soldiers Tell Army Chief

Aggrieved soldiers affected by the Nigerian Army’s controversial Welfare Housing Scheme have lamented that the army is owing them uniform and boot allowances and still wants to make deductions from their salary in the name of a housing scheme.

The soldiers, who spoke to SaharaReporters on Saturday on the condition of anonymity, said the official statement of the Nigerian Army that the soldiers were duly consulted on the scheme was not true as nobody sought their consent or opinions.

The soldiers also lamented that it was also a lie that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, met the scheme in the pipeline when he assumed office in January 2021, adding that the controversial housing scheme is his brainchild.

SaharaReporters had on Friday reported that some of the aggrieved soldiers wrote a save-our-soul letter to President Muhammadu Buhari over the Nigerian Army’s planned deduction of their salaries to pay for the “fraudulent Nigerian Army Welfare Housing Scheme.”

The soldiers – One sergeant, two corporals, two Lance Corporals and one Private – in the letter obtained by SaharaReporters had noted that the army planned to deduct between N15,000 and N49,000 monthly from their little salaries, which are not able to currently meet their needs.

The personnel said the Non-Commissioned Officers and the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers were the only ones affected, and they now find it difficult to feed their family and pay their children school fees “from our meagre salaries.”

They demanded that the army authorities reconsider the deductions.

In a reaction by the Nigerian Army’s Director of Public Relations, Brig-Gen Mohammed Yerima, the army authorities had claimed that the soldiers were duly consulted.

“The current Chief of Army Staff met an Army Housing Scheme in the pipeline and constituted a committee to understudy its feasibility and desirability. The committee subsequently designed the questionnaire for soldiers to bare their minds on the scheme and ascertain those interested in it. It was still at this stage of administering the questionnaire to soldiers that agent provocateurs seized the moment to demonise the scheme with toxic narratives,” the army’s spokesman had stated.

But speaking with SaharaReporters, some of the soldiers countered the army’s position that the housing scheme was an innovation to swindle the lower ranks of their meagre salary.

“This is a welfare housing policy proposed by the Chief of Army Staff for the other rank cadre which is to be compulsory and monthly deductions will be made from every soldier’s salary. No soldier was consulted on this. The officer cadre was exempted; besides, most of us have houses of our own. Our scarce skills allowance is N100,000 every month but we are short paid,” one of them said.

“There was no housing scheme in the pipeline that the new Chief of Army Staff met when he assumed office. No soldier was consulted, and questionnaires were not shared to sensitise or sample the opinion of troops.

“Our salary has not been increased; we still buy uniforms and boots for ourselves; we live in dilapidated buildings. We've not been paid a uniform allowance and boot allowance. You are deployed to a company, the company pays the sum of N150,000, but the Commanding Officer will pay each soldier N30,000,” another soldier said.

The senator in charge of army issue(can't remember what they are actually called), The minister of defence, NSA, Chief of staff to GMB might read this news, and without any investigation brush it aside.

Make the non commission officers no gree for Attahiru, he go just dey put their money in a fixed account they collect interest on top am while there will be nothing on ground to justify all that deduction.

Have you heard about Mambila militia in Taraba before?
When next you go to Taraba, ask the right questions, don't sit like a Zombie to be fed tales by moonlight, the likes of Danjuma et al were funding the militia to protect the farms against Fulani terrorists & herdsmen that over run their crops.
The militia refused to be coalesced into the state armed forces structure, unlike almost all the vigilantes & support armed groups in every state including the Civillian JTF in Borno.

Mambilla militia succeeded for a while but over zealously set out on a vendetta mission to oust peaceful fulani settlers in the state, military came in with the mandate to disarm both groups, !diots like Danjuma started crying fowl that military took sides with the Fulanis but forgot to tell you that the militia had no evidence that those settlers were responsible for the attacks in the farm to have butchered them.

Do you expect the military to fold her arms & watch a total break down of law & order?
That's the issue in Taraba, they are unhappy their militia was disarmed but won't tell you their militia lost their mandate from protection of farms to attacking settlers.

The same thing is about to happen in the SE, IPOB launched ESN with the pretext they will protect farmlands, instead of remaining in the farms, they are everywhere attacking police, army, vigilantes & Innocent people.
Why should they not be disarmed?

Every group hides behind a security challenge to arm themselves against their perceived enemies then expect the army to fold arms & watch?
U re somehow right.
Why don't those same army show up to disarm the same fulani herder militant whenever they go on a killing spree
