If it is slightly related to healthcare, there is another choice for you, You can apply to a community college and work towards Licensed practical nursing (LPN) that takes just two years after which, you would take the NCLEX-PN(You must pass this licensure exam before you can work as a nurse)
I will advise you start trying some free NCLEX test questions online just to have an idea of what nursing school entails In Canada.

About Scholarships, i will tell you one truth, you cannot fully rely on scholarship (that is if you even qualify) + You can only work 20 hours a week as an international student. All the money you would make would probably cater for feeding, transportation, textbooks and accommodation . You will definitely need support for that tuition.

Nursing school is extremely competitive and difficult to get into as an international student? Your GPA must be 4.0/4.3, nothing less, remember you are trying to get in with domestic students as well. All your Nigerian transcripts from secondary school to university would be required to measure your overall GPA and the type courses you have taken.
If all this seems difficult to follow through for now, you can start your Nursing journey in Nigeria and start practicing the NCLEX questions, it will even be easier to transfer to a Nursing school in Canada once you have some credit hours in nursing related courses.

I was a Science Student in Secondary School. I did All science subjects in WAEC then I went to study something entirely different in Unilag and I got a Bachelors degree.

UK passport don't take few years. She will spend nothing less than 15 yrs in the UK to become a citizen unlike Canada that takes just 3-4yrs.

First of all, most people advising you here are not in Bunmi's age bracket and would probably not understand what bunmi wants. Best thing is wait to get PR in Canada and apply for jobs in UK as a nurse for a year or so and decide what she wants. Both places would grant her PR via skilled route. All in circa 5 years. Most people are ignorant and thinks its all about passport, after that what else. Bunmi shouldn't be shortsighted like them. Having Canadian, English, American + Nigerian experience is better than just having Canadian experience if done the smart way. Take calculated risks. Life is for living and you should never dare to explore/ try out new things, after all you never know what it brings.

I understand why people might think I am disguising as Bunmi. We have very similar stories in terms of immigrating to study in Canada and we met in church. A few reasons she wants to relocate to UK is
1. She plans to further her studies in medicine (To become a doctor).
2. Attaining citizenship is not essentially a priority for her(regardless of the country), she is more of a "live in the moment" kinda person.
3. Like earlier stated, she hates the cold and wants to be closer to Nigerians and closer to home, "London is closer to Lagos, I can easily go home on weekends lol"
My opinion: Because she legit travels back home every summer, I feel she might never really settle in Canada, regardless.

As a ph.d student in UK how long will it take that person to get permanent residence if professional jobs are not forthcoming but only want to use student visa to extend stay?

Bunmi already has a Bachelorette in Nursing. I think he meant that as a Healthcare professional, she will have better job prospects due to the high demand of nurses in the Uk and therefore has a good possibility of obtaining a PR afterwards. That is quite different from a random Ph.D student. I hope I am not wrong?

Which false rumour? Haven't you seen people who have been in the UK legally for 10yrs and yet to become citizens?

You think becoming a citizen in the UK is a walk through process like that of Canada?

Why not try it and see if it will take you 12 months to become one?

Thank you for this info, I need your advice about credit transfer to Canada.
i am currently in my 1st year in a university in South Africa studying Nursing(B.Sc.), I am planning a transfer this year after the completion of the 2nd semester this is because the students do go on strike at least 2/3 times in a year.

what are my chances? someone once told me the chances is slim because they usually don't accept international student which you also stated in your post.. because i am thinking of starting afresh if getting

The assumption you make is that you will be admitted to study medicine in the UK. If you are exploring the graduate entry route, you need to be aware that it’s very competitive. You will also be competing with British graduates.

However, there is no harm in trying. You can always go back to Canada if things don’t end up the way you planned it to be.
