Hmmm. Did i say he commanded the division? He commanded a brigade. I forgort the brigade number.

Boro's 1000 men Brigade under the 3rd Marine commando started as a militia called the "Sea school boys", they were all part of the original struggle to liberate Niger delta from Eastern region due to domination of igbos, the same problem Bendel people had in Western region that led to the birth of the midwestern region.
Sea School Boys today will qualify as Civillian JTF, but immediately they started recording successes in battle, Nigeria federal forces quickly promoted Boro to Major then christened the Sea side boys "16 brigade" with no military training according to Obasanjo in his book "My command"

If BHTs lose +21,000 soldiers then they are done for. But that is not to say they are not suffering loses too after all they are on an unprecedented recruitment drive which might be because of huge loses they suffered at the beginning of the year.

Seems you don't understand how this things work. If that's how terrorism is, then no country would fight it for years. Let me try explain it to you.

Killing 21,000 fighters in a year is different from killing the same number in 9 years, this makes it 2,300 killed per year and 194 killed per month on average basis.

It takes only 2 to 3 weeks to train a fighter, So if you kill 194 per month, bokoharam would recruit 300 the next month, we all saw how they were rushing for recruitment last year after the march-may offensive to the point of even recruiting children and elderly men.

Terrorists do not train their fighters like conventional armies do, if you kill 5000 Cameroonian soldiers out of 20,000 this year, you might definitely meet 15,000 the next year, but if you kill 5000 terrorists out 20,000 this year, be rest assured you will meet the same 20,000 the next year. That's how it works.

The number of terrorists killed does not win the war against terrorism cos they can easily recruit more men, destroying and capturing their weapons, ammo and equipment wins the war, a terrorist without weapon is just a clown.

Figures of Terrorists killed per year since 2011

See oga, We are not doing enough in the war, yeah that's true, We need to be going after the enemies relentlessly, launching attacks all year round if we want to defeat insurgency/terrorism and not just once or twice in a year, this is the reason I also feel the war is still on because we're not ready to end it, the government is not taking it as priority.

But to say casualties are competing, that one no enter.

Major is Major, the same thing applies to other rank. This stuff you're saying is common especially in the NA. What happens if both are meeting for the first time and they have the same rank ?
Probably the other major was demoted or he has not been promoted for years due some reasons and his mates are Lt col's or Col's.
They do so to show respect, it's more common among rank and files of the NCO in NA.

Boro & his sea side boys were released during the war, when did they get the training? we know they had a camp in Escravos, didnt Alabi Isiama write what they did there? Did he mention any training? Escravos was just a camp from where NNS Nigeria piloted by one of them Navy captain Soro ferry them to most Islands they conquered.
I will love to know the commander that trained them, Like saying some one trained Niger delta militants.

UNKNOWN gunmen, yesterday, killed three police officers and set ablaze Nsukwa Police station in Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State

The gunmen, who attacked the Police Division at about 2 am, also left some police officers with bullet wounds.

Residents of the area said they were woken up from sleep by the sound of sporadic gunshots in the peaceful community.

A community source, who pleaded anonymity, said the gunmen laid siege to the station, lamenting that the community is now “leaving in fear, people are panicking over what happened last night.

They were four policemen on guard; they killed three police officers while others got injured.

“Even police motorcycles at the premises were burnt. They destroyed vehicles and carted away their ammunition.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Ari Ali, who confirmed the attack, said the command lost three officers, describing it as a black day for the command.

At least 1,603 people were killed in violent attacks across Nigeria between January and March 2021, a report by a non-governmental organisation, Nigeria Mourns, has shown.

The report titled “Violent Incidents Report: January – March 2021″ was published on Sunday.

The group said it gathered its figures through the use of newspaper reports and family sources to track violent killings.

The report also showed that 1,774 people were abducted within the three months under review.

“In the Q1 of 2021, Nigeria continued to experience inordinately high incidents of armed violence with very high body counts.

Our tracking shows that at least 1603 persons lost their lives in the country from January – March 2021,” the group said on Twitter.

On the aspect of the perpetrators of the violence, the report revealed that 921 people were killed by suspected bandits, 207 people killed by persons suspected to be members of Boko Haram or its breakaway faction, ISWAP, 205 killed in isolated attacks and 106 lives were claimed by cult clashes.

Also, 79 people died through extra-judicial killings, communal crises led to the death of 53 people and 32 people killed by herdsmen.

A member of the Nigeria Mourns Coalition, Ier Jonathan, said the figures are worrying “but not meant to criticise the government.”

Rising insecurity
Nigeria has been battling with various forms of insecurity for years. This led to agitation by many citizens for state police.
As part of efforts to curb the challenges, South-west governors last year created a regional paramilitary outfit,
Amotekun .

Also, the governors of the South-east states resolved to maintain a joint security outfit to be called Ebube Agu in April.

Aside from ordinary citizens, different state governors –
Samuel Ortom of Benue State,
Babagana Zulum of Borno, and
Hope Uzodinma of Imo, among others, have been victims of violence as they or their properties were attacked.

Governors Samuel Ortom of Benue, Hope Uzodinma of Imo and Babagana Zulum of Borno.

Mr Ortom recently knocked the federal government for being complacent in the face of insecurity.

Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State in early May told journalists that Boko Haram terrorists have been occupying some communities in the state.

He claimed the terrorists have displaced over 3,000 residents of the affected communities.

Governors want Buhari to address nation
The 17 governors in southern states of Nigeria, on Tuesday, asked the federal government to “convoke a national dialogue as a matter of urgency.”

They called on President Muhammadu Buhari to “address Nigerians on the challenges of insecurity.”

The resolution was among 12 reached by the governors at their meeting in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The National Assembly had also called for a national security summit with the House of Representatives already announcing modalities for one of such .

President Muhammadu Buhari has never shown support for such calls. He also did not endorse the establishment of state police.

Buhari’s aide blames ‘evil forces’
Amidst the security challenges, President Buhari’s media aide,
Femi Adesina, blamed ‘evil forces’ popularly referred to as ‘Aiye’ in Yoruba as the reason for insecurity in Nigeria .

“…Just as some forces knew the record that was to be achieved by Muhammadu Buhari as Nigerian President, and which he had begun to show since 2015 when he got into office, they positioned themselves against the government
“The lesson? When you are high-flying, the centrifugal forces will come against you, and it would only take the grace of God for you to attain.

“Yoruba people call those forces Aiye. When Aiye is on your case, as it was against Man City, and it is against the Buhari government, you need God, and God alone. Aiye (meaning ‘the world,’ if freely translated) is the negative part of mankind. The pernicious, baleful, sly and scheming part of humanity. If Aiye gets on your matter, you need God and God alone,” his article published on Thursday partly read.

He, however, expressed optimism that Mr Buhari will conquer.

“Who says Nigeria will not rise from its current travails? Who says Aiye will always win? Not where God is involved. And God is involved with Nigeria, our own dear na Under President Buhari, peace and security would be restored. The economy would rebound.

Life would be abundant for the people, and Aiye would be left standing small, holding the rump of the flag of a country it thought had gone into oblivion,” he wrote.

DAILY POST gathered that the attackers invaded the Apumiri Ubakala Police Station in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia in the early hours of Monday shooting sporadically, before gunning down at least two officers.

The assailants also burnt down the facility, with both vehicles and other valuables destroyed.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Geoffrey Ogbonna was unable to take his calls as at press time.

Modernizing BMP-1 to BMP-1AM, which traded its 73mm cannon for a 2A72 30-mm cannon and similar turret to the BTR-82A.

The cost of upgrading each BMP-1 will cost roughly the same as modernizing each BMP-2 to the BMP-2M standard with a Berezhok turret. The NA should go for these babies, easy to maintain, rugged, light & fast and they carry enough fire power.
They can be purchased to replace the FV104, FV101, FV107.

Very logical decision, better than the 76mm low velocity, I just hope it has EO and flir , good digital fire control, this is what we need in 30mm, as a plugin to the new hardwares....some things we have are over kills in too little quantities to be effective....let's have our over kills in effective numbers and things ike this .
