The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited three national officers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for investigation for alleged criminal conspiracy, abuse of office, diversion of funds and fraud.

The letter dated May 17th 2021 and addressed to the Prince Uche Secondus, the party’s National chairman asked the National Auditor, National Organising Secretary and Director of Finance to report at the EFCC headquarters from May 19th to 21st 2021.

It will be recalled that Prince Kassim Afegbua, a chieftain of the PDP and former Commissioner for Information in Edo state had petition the EFCC, asking the anti-graft agency to look into the financial transactions of Secondus, in the spirit of transparency, accountability and book-keeping in line with the existing anti-corruption laws.

He noted that much of the financial transactions of the PDP under Prince Uche Secondus has been shrouded in mystery, accusing the leadership of deliberate attempt to shortchange the party in the build up to the 2023 general elections.

Same EFCC that have never investigate how the likes of Babatunde Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi, Dajuma Goje, Kwankwaso, Abdullahi Adamu, Wammaco and others on how they used state resources to sponsor the APC 2015/2019 presidential elections?

In 2015, this skewed corruption-fighting agency told us that they were probing those two because of the grave allegations of fund misappropriation brought against them. Some six years later, we haven't heard from the peeps. SMH

The PDP is a major disappointment, teeming with misfits. It just cannot unshackle itself from the elements that broke its electoral back and made it a byword for "kleptocracy'...cannot reinvent itself into the much needed alternate government.

Look at the Republican oarty in the States. Just out of power and in mere months are battling hard to bury the unsavoury legacy of the Trump years and move on.

True they are doing their job.

There were several petitions against Adams Oshiomhole( former APC chairman), what happened? I think they even had to go to court to compel EFCC to investigate Oshiomhole. However, EFCC was quick to act when it involved PDP and its chairman.

The only way we can argue that this isn't political is if we are saying, this is a new EFCC leadership and let's give them benefit of doubt, not the "they are doing their job". Why don't they do their job when it involves APC leaders?

So APC members are not corrupt
