Good day dear Parents/Guardians,
This is to notify you that there was no kidnap at Royal Touch International School, Abuja yesterday, 18th May, 2021.

The real story ❗
There was a man who came to the school. When we noticed that his movement and the type of questions he was asking was suspicious, we quickly invited the police who promptly arrested him and he was taken to the phase 4 police station.
As a result of police investigation, it was discovered that the man is mentally unstable.
With the police IPO, we were able to locate his family home in gbazango, off Arab road. The parents were advised to take him to a rehabilitation home.

When the man was being arrested, it was recorded and posted online by an unknown person.
The impression they are creating in the video is not the true reflection of what happened.
There was no incident of kidnapping (as portrayed in the video) in Royal Touch international school.
In view of the security situation in our dear country, we want to once again assure all our parents that your children are safe and we are taking all necessary measures to ensure that our children are learning in a safe and conducive environment.
Thank you all.

How is Nigeria turning into a failed state? Every single institution is still working (maybe not properly), but still working.
Most Nigerians are going about their various businesses except those on social media grin

Turning into a FAILED STATE. In a FAILED STATE anything goes, including petty criminals engaging in kidnaps.
Sadly, because they are not professional kidnappers, they will take the money and kill the children out of panic.

Incase you don't know, most people that kidnap children act like they are mentally disabled. If he is mad is it where children are closing from school that he will show his madness? Think twice

Is the video "fake" too?

This people (school management) are only trying to protect their image (in terms of competency).

Is the video faked? Didn't we listened to the audio?

How did the man entered the school compound without security vetting? And even sat (for some while) before being queried and questioned.

Now (as they claimed) if the Man is "simply" a case of lunacy, then they should know that "lunatism" itself is not a simple case but in fact, poses greater threat than kidnap.

He could simply start a mass attack/murder action.

It's obvious the school are only trying to cover up their security lapses so parents won't start withdrawing their children en masse.

failed state

"...a state whose political or economic system has become so weak that the government is no longer in control."
With Boko Haram in control of large swathes of Borno, Yobe and Niger State, with Fulani herdsmen in control of large swathes of Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, maiming and kidnapping at will, with arms and ammunitions in the hands of non-state actors, you think Nigeria doesnt happily meet the criteria of Failed States?
Be there decieving yourself.

Kidnappers are moving their trade to privately owned schools. That is why school proprietors need to have surveillance systems installed in their school premises. Check the link below to see what some smart propritors are already doing.

Same happened in my school last year. Unfortunately, the woman left before security were alerted.
The confusing part was that the child had identified her as his mother. Was even crying when the was refused to follow her. He insisted she was his mum, even when I asked if she is the mum's sister...
The woman left with the pretense that she was going to pick his sister in the creche; at that point, I felt the woman must be a relative to them... The mum came in the middle of it after the woman had left and said she never sent anyone to pick her son.
The scary part was after the left, we tried to trace her with the CCTV footage, only for it to get blurry whenever it gets to her. All part of the footage that could have captured her face wasn't seen. Thank God sha, it wasn't more than that.
Full pikin?
Haaa

The most painful part is " he was handed to the police " ...people like this man shouldn't be handed to the police

When will Nigeria have laws like that of North Korea ?
when all politicans are treated like the masses they're supposed to serve
