Just curious. If you are interested in Pure Mathematics, I strongly recommend that you start to look for a scholarship overseas or try AIMS (African Institute of Mathematical Sciences). I am not sure Uniben is strong in Pure Mathematics (well except for Alufohai, but I guess he is retired now).

IF (SIN B)squared = 1 + COS B, zerodegrees less than or equal to B less than or equal to 90degrees.

5 men do the job in 4 days at the normal rate

So, 1 man will take longer than 5 men, thus:

1 man does the job in 5*4 = 20 days at the normal rate

10 men will take shorter than 1 man, so:

10 men do the job in 20/10 = 2 days at the normal rate

10 men working the job at 1/4 the normal rate will take longer, hence:

10 men do the job in 2*4 = 8 days at 1/4 the normal rate.

let's just assume the bath size is 10litres hot water =7.5 cold water=5 so we have (10/7.5)+(10/5) 1.3+2=3.3 minutes

From equatns i & ii, take the log of both sides
(xlog^x + ylog^y) = log 31------ eqn iii.
log(x+y) = log 5 ------------ eqn iv.
xylogxy= log 31 -------- eqn v.
log xy = log 5 --------- eqn vi.
(Using elimination method);
xylog5 = log31
xy = log 31/log 5 =6.2 approx. 6.

Recall, from eqn i, x + y = 5.
So x = 6/y or y = 6/x.
Therefore x=2 when y=3.
ans: x=2, and y=3.

This is straightforward. Just Integrate f(x) from 0 to 1 and then set it to 1. I think you will get c = 2.
