Sorry to hijack your question, but from my experience the spinal anaesthesia isn't painful I didn't even know it was a long needle that was used not until my Dh told me. Maybe because I already made up my mind that pain is inevitable whether for CS or Virginia birth. I felt the needle at the first pinch but it wasn't painful.

Goodevening house.

i went for scan today and is measuring behind from my counting. from my counting i suppose to be 11weeks, my LMP was 4th March but scan measured 8weeks 6days though everything is just ok, and i saw my LO wiggling hands and legs, the baby i have prayed and waited for good 3years.

i was counting my self as TEAM DEC but scan gave me 9/11/2021 so am now TEAM NOVEMBER.

If scan gave you 8weeks 6days that means your date should be December ending and not november. Something doesn't add up with the scan results.

I think it depends on the kind of breech position. Some babies can't be turned

the obgyn said it’s very normal oh. He explained that it happens if your uterus is pushed up against your diaphragm, it might affect your breathing and then heart rate. Best thing to do is to take a little rest and calm down

However he asked that I do a scan to be sure that my fluid is not too much as that might contribute to my uterus pushing up against the diaphragm. Thankfully the scan came out well. Fluid is very ok. Not to much, not too small

I’ve also been scheduled for a test as well during the week, which I have now forgotten the name, something glucose something, for pcv. This is to rule out any otherissue, which I can’t remember the name as well, (too many medical terms abeg)

But i believe all is well. It’s very normal

Good evening mamas

I’m experiencing something that’s giving me concern.

I’m 30weeks pregnant.

I get this shortness of breath and heart palpitations (if I’m correct). Like my heart starts beating really fast, sweat may even breakout on my forehead, I feel light headedness; like dizzy and if I don’t sit or lie down immediately, I feel like I might just fall. Tonight is the second time I’m experiencing it; right now as I type, I’m currently lying down.

Who else experiences this? Is this normal?

That shortness of breath at this stage is actually normal but the dizziness is what I don't get. Please try and see a doc just to be sure.

Good evening family has anyone heard of turning baby from breech position. Has anyone has that experience pls i need answers

TURNING A BREECH BABY

The safest and most natural way for baby to be born via vaginal delivery is head first. As you approach baby’s due date, she will begin to turn “upside down,” so that she will be born head first.

When baby is positioned feet first, or sitting “right side up”, we call it breech. In 90% of cases, a breech baby will have to be delivered via C-section [1].

When should we worry about baby’s position?

Around week 37, baby is typically already so big that she cannot turn over on her own. There is not enough room in utero. When it happens that she is breech at this point, your doctor may prescribe an external obstetric coup, where he or she will try to turn baby by placing hands on your abdomen and manipulating her position [1]. This can be painful.

At week 28 of pregnancy, one in four babies is breech. This decreases to 15% of babies at week 32 and 3-4% of babies at the time of labor [2]. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of waiting on baby to turn.

I don’t want to wait that long. Can I do something else to help baby turn?

Note that when a doctor turns baby at the hospital with the proper equipment and precautions, the success rate is 86%. But there are alternatives. Studies show that methods like yoga and acupuncture have a success rate of 65% [3].

Alternative methods are explored not only from anxiety to ensure baby’s health, but also because they can be more cost effective than waiting until late in pregnancy and utilizing hospital resources. A simulation showed that acupuncture performed at week 33 on an expectant mama with a breech baby yielded a 20% increased chance of baby turning, versus doing nothing. The researchers noted that the cost of stimulating mama’s pinkie toes (via moxibustion) was significantly lower than the cost of a C-section [4].

How do these alternative methods work?

Most of the studies on acupuncture focused on moxibustion. Moxa is a cone or stick of ground up mugwort leaves which is burned at or near acupuncture points. It is believed to work by stimulating the adrenal cortex, changing blood levels of estrogen and prostaglandin. This increases the sensitivity of the uterus and stimulates baby’s motor activity. In other words, it makes baby active. Once baby is active, she may find her way to a head-first position [3].

You can imitate this technique at home by applying ginger paste to your pinkie toes at bedtime. Your toes should feel warm, and baby should start to move around more. There are no reported risks with this method [3].

Doctors and midwives also recommend yoga poses such as a bridge, where you lie down and then raise your pelvis as high as you can toward the ceiling, using the rest of your body for support. However, there is no evidence yoga poses have either a positive or negative effect on breech presentation [3].

Able Cappo, I hail oh.

Welcome @meggitto21 to the vibrant team.

Everything is good and calm. We are grateful to the almighty, apart from occasional nausea and some occasional random moods (last night DW cried because I took extra meat from the pot, the only thing I could do was hug her)

Shopping is done (I think)

#DiaryofaPregnantHusband

grin grin grin But why did you take extra meat ehh and am sure she told you not to. Please give her more hugs for us and tell her very soon she will remember all these and laugh.

It's not easy believe me. Am having my own share of the package here back to back. Infact I now believe the saying that pregnancy no get customer.

Weight gain during your pregnancy is not only normal, but it’s also healthy. If you don’t gain a lot of weight while you’re pregnant, then your baby is likely not getting the nutrients that he or she needs in order to thrive. If you’re not noticing a lot of weight gain, then make sure to talk to your doctor and find tips on how you can bulk up and give your little ones what they need.

with my first child I had this a lot but the Dr checked my pcv, bp and it was fine so he said I shldnt worry about it.
With this pregnancy, I had it a few times in 2nd trimester but haven't had it in 3rd trim... just check in with ur dr, to keep ur mind at rest.

I can't say that it is very painful. For my Cerclage, they shook me the long Needle over 5 times without success before they gave up and used small General Anaesthesia.

I also learned that some Anesthesiologists will first give you a small injection on the needle site (feels like a pinch) to numb the area before going in with the big needle.
