Their isn’t an industry standard salary for lawyers in Nigerian Many lawyers don’t get paid up to 100k self, while some luck one who made it to top law firms earn a decent figure, most aren’t as lucky Doctors in government hospitals are luck they earn a decent salary, Engineers in the oil industry are the true winners, big pay In developed economies Lawyers, Doctors and Engineers have no business with poverty, that’s not the case in Nigeria |

kenzysmith:Kenzysmith You just wanna trend or you don't believe in miracles. I'm not at the stage he is right know but I believe in Seasons and Grace and miracles. You may doubt his story but pay attention to the morals. Its whta age him struck gold. He stayed at his job like Isaac in Gen 26 who stayed through the famine and became the most powerful man in a foreign country He listened to the advice of his dad and boss He persevered through the storm. These are the morals you should imbibe. That said, you may quote me, abuse and say all the yadas and blah blah but the truth can't be denied or shunned!!!! I rest my case |

Godsownchild199:The Bible warns us against despising little beginnings. Unfortunately, this is the bane of many young graduates today. If they apply for a big position, you dare not offer them a lesser one. They'll reject outright. They want to start big. That's why many of them are jobless years after graduation. |

Nice story. At this stage of your career any experience will count in your career development. Get all the experiences you need to acquire and move to a bigger law firm that can pay you better. 100k is not much in this present day Nigeria. Aim to move to a bigger company that would pay you 500k per month at least to start with. I make gross 4M every month, but with the present cost of living in Nigeria 1M is not even much money again. So I bought some plots of land and delve into farming like pig and fishing farming as a side hustle. With the money I make from my farming business I can beat my chest that I'm rich and living very comfortable . So my point is to hustle and move to bigger firm that will pay you well and invest in another lucrative side hustle and you will thank me later. Experience is good but more Money is important. |

Your boss is a vr good man, I work in a law firm too but I am not a lawyer though but I have learned alot in terms of legal activities... Most of their jobs come through Oga, our own is to process the paper work but my Oga can never willingly give out on her own after all, you are receiving a monthly salary of 35k. Last yr we Secured a project worth 4m, which I personally handle 90% of the paperwork except where her presence is needed. Still, no form of appreciation from her. I base in Lagos and if you have a better place me, quote me oo... Thanks |

Why do you people open new moniker to share your stories? People like Jarus, xfire and the likes stuck to their original accounts. In as much as this story gladdens my heart, i suspect its one of those fictional write ups by Seun employees. |

The God you have is your boss, worship him bro, I am exaggerating though. But I wish I had a good boss too, you are lucky. If it were some bosses, they would take everything and maybe give you 50k or 70k and they will still tell you to be happy because the client didn't pay well instead they added money from their personal purse to pay you for a job well done, but rather your boss including your name in the pay list. Whether your story is fake or not, although it seems so, I tap into your grace so that such kind of helper can locate me. |

For a young Lawyer you still did a very shoddy job in hiding same trails and facts you didn't want to divulge. I just hope it doesn't screw anything for you all the same. Congrats, your half-hearted perseverance paid off with the help of COVID lockdown and your DADs insistence. Comparing yourself to peers is one of the greatest pressure and depression sources. A lot of folks have quit Facebook, LinkedIn, Insta, etc. You never got a job via LinkedIn all the while you where languishing in PH, now you miraculously hit it big and you are running back to LinkedIn and definitely other social media platforms to chase clout and attention. If l were you, l would just focus on that job. Any networking you need you can equally get outside LinkedIn, etc. Your smart friends will still know you are still the one cos 1)they will easily pick out that your parents very learned 2)you were in PH before coming to Lag 3)your signature or natural way of constructing phrases and sentences...it's just unique more or less like DNA 4) you gave out your age details 5)etc |

Godsownchild199:Your apt write-up is a verisimilitude of your real self...you're indeed eloquent and sound! My Dad’s attempt to connect me to a senior partner at a hotshot law firm in Victoria Island failed and I basically had to do it my way The above is a proof that , vain is the help of man. Only God can take you places. All you've experienced was quite similar to mine. I settled for an 11k job almost 2 decades ago after my nysc, while my friends and course mates were chasing oil and gas jobs here and there. One year after my employment, I gained admission on scholarship in the US and I resigned. I made my visa fees, air fare to New York and enough funds as my allowance while in school from the legitimate proceeds that came to me during the one year of employment in that company yet, my salary was 11k, which I never touched. My employer almost ran mad because I was seemingly indispensable. I was hard-working and i made unprecedented strides on the job. After my programme, I came back home and I never regretted it. I'm self employed and happy. It's a private jet I've not bought yet, but I believe if God says I'd own one, it will surely come in due time. The sky is the beginning for you my broda. Don't give up seeking God's face for divine leading. The best is yet to come. |

Belial06:What traffic do I need, the reason I did not use my real account is that it is linked to my personal email address and it will reveal my name. Look my friend, everything I stated above is true. My office is in Victoria Island. My boss is one of Nigeria's most successful Senior Advocates. If I reveal more details I'll easily be identified. I'm not sharing my story to catch clout, I don't need it. This is not LinkedIn. Learn from my story. God bless you. |

) some 4-5 years ago with a second class upper, then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School (still made 2:1) and served in Rivers State. I did my NYSC in a reputable law firm (name withheld) in Port Harcourt. It was quite an experience both good and bad. I left the firm after service year out of frustration due to the poor leadership and mismanagement of funds by the head of office (the guy has since been fired). Mind you, my salary as a corper was 10k (the average NYSC legal associate in Lagos earned at least 5 -7 times this amount). I had depression at this point in my life.
