Smoking is not a sin at all. Jesus Christ was quite clear on the fact that what you eat or ingest does not cause you to sin, nor does it make you sinful in the eyes of God.

It is instead what you have stored up in your heart that causes you to sin, hence the reason why I suggested it is likely that you stored up lust in your heart that may have started it all for you.

The reason I have for trying to separate your addiction from the lust in your heart is this... mental illness is not an imagined idea. It is real. I too tend to find myself caught in addictive behaviors from time to time, only my addictions tend not to be sinful habits either... just habits I find I have to break when I realize them so I can be free of them and they are not born from lust but instead a brain that tend to settle too quickly into the routine that is sometimes addiction.

And I responded, telling you that regardless of your "experience" , smoking is not a sin as your claim contradicts Jesus Christ Himself.

Jesus Christ is the Law where sin is concerned. No body gets to arbitrarily make up the rules where sin is concerned. That authority belongs to and only to God and since Jesus Christ declared that smoking is not a sin, it is then true that regardless of your experience. smoking is not a sin.

I'm finding my paths to spirituality. My goal has always been to establish a relationship, a Communion with God. Knowing that he is with me and hearing my prayers ...

But I've been struggling with Marijuana addiction. And the devil often use this addiction to remind me of how far I am from God's grace. Even in the middle of prayers .

It's unfortunate that I've made the habit a must do in my life and it is difficult to quit. Always thought a job could help me but I find myself using it as an escape to work stress.

I'm at a point where I feel that this habit is the only thing separating me from God's entire will in my life. I have deep convictions that I have a ministry to fulfill. I have faith that it will soon be a thing of the past , as I continually seek God's intervention.

Guys who has been in my shoes before? How did you overcome? How do you deal with the recurrent guilt ?

How does smoking (weed) or drinking make you a bad Christian or not a child of God? Nigeria is supposed to be a very religious country, but look at all the ills happening through the length and breadth of the country.

Whether or not you drink liquor or smoke whatever, love God, and love your neighbors.

Here is why I say so, no religious manual has at no time or in any place condemned smoking (check them if in doubt), religiously, substances with psychedelic effects have been used by priests and worshipers for trans and inter realm communication and communion all over the world since before man knew tools that were not bones or stones, if the use of marijuana makes you feel distant from God check your thoughts during trans (high). how to cure your conscience, 1, think about God, heaven and what you have been thought about Christ not about sins or self judgment (mat 7:1). 2, think about what you considered to be confusing teaching and analyze multiple possible explanations. 3, avoid pornography and pornographic thoughts. 4, avoid celebrities and thoughts of them. 5, talk to people with identical ideologies, and those that help you grow in your desired direction. 6, check who you smoke with. Finally and most importantly, if marijuana affects your conscience and relationship with God, give it distance and change your priorities, God over everything else.
