Okija shrine was not a place for rituals.

What used to happen at the shrine was that people who feel that the next person has treated them wrongly go to the shrine to report them to get justice.

For instance, you may be owing me some money and promise to pay in two weeks. In one month, you refuse to pay. Also, whenever I ask for it, you tell me to go to hell or do my worst.

So, what I would do would be to report you to the shrine. The chief priest will send you a message, informing you to come to the shrine and defend yourself. I hear that they often give ultimatums.

If you refuse to show up, the deity will visit you and strike you dead. Once the person is dead, they bring their corpse to Okija shrine. That's why there were lots of decaying bodies in the shrine.
