You maliciously got it wrong. However Google is your friend, if you were simply just ignorant.
I meant no malice.
I remembered things wrong, and made the mistake of not googling before posting.

A mistake I probably won't hear the end of, as this site's traffic increases tomorrow morning and I receive another barrage of insults to my character.

Anyway, I've been corrected by a few gentlemen, and we live and learn.

May that be your fate in Jesus Name. Amen. If you are healthy and using a very old video of a desperate man to beg/scam, may you die on a bed unable to use your legs.

1. Ban black market or parallel market
2. Ban operations of dom accounts

Devaluation and inflation are two things that kills an economy. No nation should experience both simultaneously.

The way the Federal government has been printing naira, it will be surprising if naira does not reach N1000 to the dollar before December.

Nigeria can only print Naira, we don't print dollars. So if the country is not earning enough foreign exchange through exports etc, we will have shortage of foreign exchange which will likely lead to devaluation. That is simple economics. The Nigerian economy is not diversified, we rely heavily on crude oil export for our dollar needs. So if there is disruption in crude sales/price, we have this problem.
Now, Nigeria is not selling enough crude oil, due to OPEC restrictions as a result of covid 19 pandemic. Most countries are not operating fully so the demand for crude is reduced. Also India, I believe our biggest oil market have cut oil imports due to the ravaging effect of covid 19.
In a nutshell, this is the major reason.

We have other factors like, fuel importation, low productivity, population growth, education etc

Well explained, thanks

Except we pray much and God decides to intervene I cannot imagine Nigeria in the next 2 years in the hand of Buhari. God have mercy.

I'm sure you campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015, why on earth are you whining?

You thought Buhari will deliver positive change? grin

According to the Oracle on August 20, 2020 and I quote ipsissima verba:

InvertedHammer:

Dollar has been weak against other currencies for months now. Yet naira depreciated. It is expected that VIX may flip soon sending equities into a tailspin and carry unwind. Nigeria does not have the financial firepower to defend naira against downward spiral. I am betting against naira LONGTERM. I expect atleast N500:$1.

And in less than a year, the target was hit cool

Next target is N1000 per $ by 2023. grin

With the way things are going..
Buhari Government has failed.

failure is a compliment - Buhari Government is a total disaster - it is a train wreck!!!! cry

Buhari reminds me why most fortune 500 companies set aptitude test to screen out applicants in the employment process

Imagine if Buhari had taken an exam to prove he has an IQ higher than that of a lizard, in a working system - he wont be allowed to

contest a ward Councillor position. Let this be a serious learning phase for all democratic countries in Africa

NEVER ELECT ANYONE BASED ON SENTIMENTS - Governance is a serious matter and only those with the capacity to lead should be elected

What you get banning Crypto. Instead of investigating to find out what caused the high numbers recorded from Nigeria or why it was so, CBN banned it, now the pressure is on the little forex it can provide to the people for their personal or business needs. angry
