Pep was humbled yesterday. We all need that lesson at some point in our lives.

He thought he could just waltz into the Champions league finals for the first time with Man city and win? Naaaaah mehn!
You have to pay your dues of first finals' heart break.

sad

na over sabi go kill Pep Las Las

it's obvious that that Cigar he smoked affected him.
you had a formidable team that dislodged bvb and PSG why altering it?
Fernandinho kept a whole PSG at bay yet you decided to bench him.
of all people you are to start you didn't see Aguero, Jesus, Ferran to start it's Sterling all people who is confused with football.
you played without sterling through the whole round 16 yet you decided to get him on finals.
his tactics yesterday made KDB and Foden useless.
Pep caused that defeat 100%
I'm a city fan but at this point I've lost hope in champions league.
it doesn't matter if we lift EPL every season
really doesn't matter anymore.
I've given football a break too

at bolded, I doubt if you have been watching man city matches consistently as a city fan

for me I think he resulted to such tactics, having failed with his regular 11 with match he played against Chelsea few weeks back

When Pep was at Bayern and Tuchel at Mainz, it was probably only Mainz that attacked Bayern while others went for damage control during the Bundesliga. Tho Tuchel lost both times, he earned Pep's respect and they met at a restaurant later on to discuss tactics.

Tuchel wanted the meeting at all costs and was set up by a mutual friend. The third party reported that of all questions, Tuchel chose to ask why Bayern's fullbacks tucked in midfield when they played Madrid..

Since then, Pep has never beaten Tuchel..

If Fernadinho had started the game, he would have been red carded in the first half. Gad played the best formation by fielding enough midfielders.

His plan was to outplay and win the game from first half and then bring in Fanardinho and the other guy in the second half to lock up, but Tuchel was something else.

In fact, Tuchel also made a mistake yesterday by bringing in Pulisic for Werner. As useless as Werner is in front of goal, him on that field when Fanardinho was on would have cost city some more cards with his speed and disturbance which was what Pulisic was brought on to do, he failed and City were able to Spread the ball from the back.

But at last Tuchel plan paid off.

And the pain rightfully landed at the theatre of wet dreams where Zebras play football.

Immediate I saw the lineup I quickly rushed to stake Chelsea straight win with 5k. The odds had dropped to 3.8 immediately the lineup was announced even d bookies knew Pep goofed. U playing a team that easily turn defense into attack in seconds and u left out Fernandinho. Aguero on d bench isn't an issue he had been injured all season. What was Sterling doin in the lineup. I know even Sterling must have thought it was a typo when he saw his name on the team sheet considering how poor he had been all season.

He lost the game with his nonsense starting XI. How can you start 6 attackers against a Chelsea side that has kante, jogging and T Silva. In my own opinion, he should have started Fenardinho, Jesus/Aguero and Laporte

yes I am
what I meant is that i don't see any need of making changes from the team that won PSG second leg.
benching Fernandinho was a fatal error
Ilkay is not a DMF
ok if he insisted on benching Fernandinho why not play a known striker and put Foden in sterling position then play KDB and Bernardo as AMF
even Feran would have been a better option

The moment I saw Fernandinho on that bench with the useless Sterling, and Mahrez as striking force, I just knew Pep came to joke around... The consequent result was quite fitting to the pathetic display that was to follow.

Pep just played into the hands of his harsh critics and detractors. Such a shame!!!

but ur Fernandinho was in starting 11 when they faced Chelsea in FA semi- final and you were defeated.

Immediately Werner Left Stones and Diaz where Free to come to midfield and we had lots of pressure. As useless as Werner is in front of goal he makes up for it by occupying defenders and dragging them out of position to pave way for others

Pep remains a genius of a coach regardless but talent is just not enough.... TT is a strategist who instilled passion into his squad.. Thsbk his strategy worked, aided by PEPs wrong choice and decisions...

Today James, chilwell, giroud et al are UCL champion medal owners... a medal that eluded soccer greats like Ibra and Ronaldo Delima.

Almighty City play 90 minutes without a goal and you call it a slimmest margin. They supposed to flog the players including the coach

you've said it all, a dead Chelsea is as good as a living Chelsea. barca would explain better, someone once said the way and manner at which barca will play and defeat any other of the EPL big 4 or top six it would never like that do to Chelsea.
Chelsea's strength lies in its inconsistency, that is one secret most don't understand, particularly when the right coach is on board their ship.

De Bruyne as a sub when he's not injured, no way. If you watch how City plays, you will know how immense De Bruyne is for the team. You can't keep him silent for 90mins, he left the pitch at 56mins. He will either make one decisive dangerous move, shot, or pass.

I think a natural CDM, Rodri or Fernadinho should have started. Gundogan sitting deep at the beginning of the game did not make sense. There was even news on Friday that he picked up a knock in training. So, it's possible he's not 100% fit. Why risk such a player in the CDM role. Sterling has lost form, why did he start?

No sir, no sir, no sir. A striker is just that. He does NOT need to penetrate defences before he scores.

Every top 9 is capable of scoring anywhere from 40 yards. Marhez and Sergio are capable of that, Jesus and Sterling are not.

Pep's big mistake yesterday was no instruction about 'Shots on Goal'. They persistently tried to work the ball into the goal and this is a big, big weakness of Pep's tactical scheme.

It was not the absence of Fernandinho whose presence will probably have prevented the Chelaea goal but his presence will not have contributed to a City goal even if they played for ten years without a strike on goal.

Tiki-taka is dead. Pep should realise this by now. It can win leagues when you have dozens of matches to shine but a one-off against a tactically astute team, nothing is guaranteed.
