oga i am not here to argue with you, i am telling you to go and confirmed from military official. any offense committed both in operation and out operation is meant to be treated in military court. and any personal being arrested by any law enforcement agency , the agency will have to write to the military police if for the Nigeria army , if he/she is an airforce personal they will have to write to the air force police and if he/she is a navy personal they have to write to the naval police for authorization. oga go and ask and stop bring point for argument

Will be smarter if you quote a section of the armed forces act than sucking a feeding bottle. A General told you is not a fact, the law told me is the right play.
Having fact is no longer enough, young Nigerians need to know how to think.

Think it through chief. break it into 100 countries with no strong central govt in each, once again what you will end up with are independent territories with warring warlords, it will never function.
we simply aren't mature enougto do it right. Greed, tribalism, lack of trust etc will never let those new states be viable.
with proper reform, it will be better. Autonomy while the fg provide oversight over each state, this make sure no governor abuses his or her office or infringe on the rights of minority groups. Just one of many things that can be done.

Valkrie:

So because of the fear of Nigeria breaking into 50 nations we should all bound together and be killed like fowl everyday...? Haba e no make sense nah...as long as there is peace and progress and no blood is further shed for nothing...Nigeria can as well split into even 100 nations...You forgot that people are already tired of this union...forget others keeping quiet..once all is set everybody would find his or her level..the glue holding Nigeria is already expired and that is the bitter truth unfortunately and I dont think anything can salvage it...The only maybe close thing that can still bring people together is to create their different nations, self governing and only agree to a union for old time sake, that way nobody can lord it over anybody, all would progress at there own pace and any who is tired of the union can simply back out without any shouting match....!!

It so so unfortunate to see us come to this level but what can any do?

We are all waiting to see how the situation pan out...!!

Based on what data?

DaddyGoo:

The diaspora and the access to finance that were not there in '67 for me are the scariest.

Without finance and a large diaspora, the "rebels" in the East held the FG, which had unprecedented Cold War support (US, UK, Israel, Egypt and Soviet),for 30 very bloody months.

Presently the diaspora contribute US$25 billion a year as at 2018/19 to Nigeria.

And truth be told majority of them are Igbo.

FG needs to calm the hell down and use brain, not gun for this.

For context, Buhari was a Major in '67 in the heat of the battle.

Today, he is a Major General who has been retired for over 30 years.

I expect far more wisdom and tact than what is presently being done by the FG, seeing as old soldiers are supposed to be wise.

I will be very pained if Oga Ahanotu choose to resign or made to, mehn that man is an intelligent, smart, a no nonsense general and of course a battle tested veteran. His name is forever engraved in the history of Nigerian Army Armour corps, his emotional intelligence is also top notch.

Truly the system of retiring experienced Generals need to be reshuffled. The Country has invested so much on them to see them retire abruptly.

Congratulations to the new COAS I pray his reign is Way way longer than the 21st and he is led to have the right set of people around him, that would help him "kick the ass of those Bastards"- words of Ahanotu.

Can you mention any battle theater he has commanded at least we all agree Nigeria is at war right?

Is there also a lack of will in rescuing those students in Kaduna too?

They are UGM, the government hypocrisy is why we are where we are, if you don't see the irony and sarcasm then you are purposefully being blind.
Terrorists where being branded as "bandits" and "Herdsmen" because the Government did not want to tackle them, any serious country would have labeled Miyetti Allah a terrorist organization for their actions across the nation, however they weren't and instead as soon as ESN was created that became the focus of attention.
Many call them UGM because they are UGM, it's hypocrisy to come and be crying ESN when known terrorists are roaming about and being called bandits.

Too late my guy. They've already been marked as burnt offerings with that nonsense they did at lekki tollgate. If the Nigerian Army had stayed neutral during the Endsars protests, we the people would have been able to force the government to carry out institutional reforms in record time, but the soldiers allowed the devil to use them, and more of them will surely die.

War come and go and people would still remain...with the current situation in the country I don't think any average Nigerian is afraid of war any longer..we all have been in a state of war for the past 6 years not even talking about those in the NE...!! Fact remains the Nigerian army can never I repeat can never win this war...anybody here can bring insult...The Americans with all their mighty had to leave Afghanistan and pursuing dialogue..but the dumbo we have here in the govt and army thought they can win against the masses...they should do a test run of military against the population and they would learn a very bitter lesson....!!

As far as this country is now...nobody cares for anybody once the chips are down all.those who contributed to making this crises would hop on the next available aircraft and run away....!!

The war is simply between the oppressed and the oppressors and the army should know that quickly or else they would end up as the burnt offering....!!

Okay we are waiting for you and your Army. I hope you will be among the soldiers deployed
to the east to help keep Nigeria one. As long as igbos will die in this war, Nigerian soldiers will surely die. Are you ready to die for the owners of Nigeria plc. (Dangote, Sultan of Sokoto, Obasanjo, Indimi family, etc.)? This fight will go on for as long as possible till both parties meet on the negotiating table. Isn't it sensible to negotiate now, than later? The way some of you reason on this thread is animalistic. No country survives 2 civil wars.

A wise man, looks for ways to avoid war, why don't you take time to do a bit of research , spend your money and watch war videos, not the doctored ones you see on CNN, that makes it look bad ass, that makes you say wow iron dome, with the level of attack esn has done, they have made their point, this would force those in government to act right and do right.....if the puppet masters of ipob/esn were smart this is the best time to stop attacks and make sensible demands other than secession.

This is why ESN should stop attacks and demand solutions from the Government, they have made their point, they have put the political class at the edge of their sit......anything further than this, without giving the government to act right is just outrightly been strategically inept, and pushing for doom.

Nigerians took to the streets demanding for specific institutional reforms, the government knowing these young people bare no arms, sent soldiers to go mow them down at lekki tollgate. The guys on this thread, denied that the Nigerian Army were at the tollgate on 20 oct. 2020, not until the Army came out itself to say they were at the tollgate, but they shot blanks. Is it this same government you are referring to?

So the solution is to destroy ourselves instead of treating the injury? Give a chance first to do the right thing, If they don't, then strike again.....but to keep on striking without giving a chance for the government to act right is just inviting destruction that can't favour the already marginalised region.

Data source 1: My own experiences.

I lived in the United Kingdom for 6 years of my adult life.

For school and work.

Typically, if I met 10 Nigerians, 4 are Igbo, 3 are Yoruba, 2 are SouthSouth/other regions and a lone Hausa/Fulani man.

In certain environments sef, na only Igbos and Yorubas you go see!

No Hausa/Fulani or other tribes.

P.S Being the melting pot of the world, London had and still has every shape, size and tribe of Nigerian.

Thus, my analysis applies to everywhere outside of London and the M25 belt.

Dataset 2: This link confirms the preponderance of Igbos in the Nigerian diaspora in Dallas, Texas.

https://www.pilotguides.com/study-guides/the-nigerian-diaspora/

Dataset 3: This article perfectly illustrates my point.

Igbos, Yorubas, even Igbos and Yorubas marrying themselves and a lone South South lady. But not a single Hausa name.

https://www.ozy.com/around-the-world/the-most-successful-ethnic-group-in-the-u-s-may-surprise-you/86885/

My time is expensive so if you need more data to validate or invalidate my point you can Google away, or pay my research fees.

With these few points, I hope you can see I wasn't just talking outta my arse!

There is really no point calling for peace anymore. Their minds are set and until they achieve victory or get tired of trying, they won't stop. Those controlling the mobs are drunk on the power and support they are getting and will not think straight until they can't disengage.
I'm just trying to imagine what a military victory for IPOB will be and how they will achieve it.
Also, recent events shows intelligence agencies are now working and hitting ISWAP's supplies. I pray it is sustained.

When I observed that most NA vehicles do not appear to have radio antennas, I was pilloried by some here.
The friendly fire incident that resulted in 2 STTEP contractors losing their lives was because there were no radios to communicate their approach.

More recently, a terrorist convoy disguised as NA got close enough because there were no radios to communicate and distinguish friend from foe.(standard operating procedures demand a password which is changed daily so that base security is not taken by surprise; without this basic logistic component...)

With inadequate NA ->NA comms, what hope for NA ->NAF comms?

But, wetin concern me? Somehow nobody can make observations until their own house is in perfect order, according to some here.

Most people here are mere fangirls. They look at the same pix of Hilux/SBS/COIN since the thread began and somehow still find it within themselves to cheer. Look at this Cameroon BIR pic from back in the day and point out the effups!

Sometimes I don't like herd mentality or i can hurt you, but you can't retaliate, that's the vibes I get from online comments from the east, did the soldiers walk up to murder the boy or there was an exchange of gun fire?
What's the certainty that it wasn't esn bullet that hit the boy?
Why tag along when there is a shooting going on, instead of getting safety.....alot of people aren't in touch with reality if you ask me.

Why come to blame the army, why not blame the esn attacking the army.
It is becoming sickening what is coming out from the east, and it's going to get worst.

Regardless of who fired the fatal bullet; the number one job of government, whether local, state or federal is to provide security in the governed space.

Clearly they are failing if the state is embroiled in daily gun battles.

Reverse psychology is playing out fine.
It's urban warfare onlookers are bound to get hurt, and this people who are getting hurt would definitely pay allegiance to this new groups which means the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Perfect configuration to set on a recruitment drive in mass.

This people are milking the nation dry!
Not formal education, it a religious basic learning along the house setting where children in the local are taught Islamic education. School fees is usually around 1000 naira for 3 months duration..

This establishment need not be registered Any mallam with Islamic knowledged just create this, the venue could be the compound or his parlour ...
Parents send thier kids there to keep them busy and learning basic religious tenets... It just like what the Christian have for kids.. am not sure what the christains call it. "Bible studies"
In this case the islamiyya is a poor one... In other places it more organized and done in formal buildings...
For example .. a building may serves both. i.e in the morning it for formal education, while in the evening and weekend, it is used for Islamic studies.
