Just like a footballer who starts limping just after missing an opportunity to score a clean goal in order to confuse the fans on what went wrong, so is Umahi who has made a U-turn to save face because he knows no one will honour his threats.

This is not even because of MNK's comment on the issue but because he has realized that the same people whom he expects to monitor whom and whom didn't open their shops will be sitting at home as well; even his State's Secretariat will be desolate.

This brings me to my question.
Why are the SouthEastern governors ever hungry to appear politically correct?

Before the FG accepted June 12 as the new democracy day, several Southwestern states already had it as a State holiday.

Only recently; having hastily declared a public holiday for the Id El Fitr because Garba Shehu wrongly sighted the moon, the Muslims were shortchanged because their holiday should have been for Thursday and Friday and not Wednesday and Thursday.
Guess what, most Northern governors declared public holidays in their states to make up for this goof.

So what is the problem of governors ndi Igbo?

Will Umahi, Ikpeazu, Uzodinma, Obiano or Ugwuanyi say they do not have family or kith who were casualties of the Biafran Civil war, or do they imply that the near-extermination of their tribesmen in a war for a sense of belonging is not worthy of honour?

The Northerners are actually not the Southerner's problems. The Southerner's leaders are the Southerner's problems.

You want to force people to die with stray bullet. Traders refuse to come out because of fear of their life, you said make them come out if not they will lose their shop.

That's the most stupid statement from someone who claim to be protecting his state

If you come out army will shot or ESN will shot, so it's better stay indoors and lose the shop.

Nonsense

In all DECENCY, bro people refused to come out not because they are afraid of bullet largely but because they are obeying their leader I am a Yoruba but served in Anambra state, Nnewi South to be precise, the way they obey Nnamdi Kanu down there eh. If we can be obedient to our laws like that, the heaven is our limit.

Biafra will stand and Oduduwa will stand.

See warped logic! You foolishly start a war and wasted 2 million of your own people - and now shamelessly talk of your people murdered in the war of your own making!
Btw, the self-inflicted casualty would have been lower if ojukwu, the coward-in-chief, had surrendered early on instead of causing so many deaths and then running away, tail between his legs, with his choice women. It took a wise non-igbo with correct senses to surrender honourably.
A people who stupidly refuse to learn from the blunders they committed in the past are doomed to suffer for eternity.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Government of Ebonyi State has received several requests from some families and residents of the State, requesting that they would like to remain indoors on Monday, May 31, 2021, to organize private family prayers in honor of their loved ones who were murdered during the unfortunate civil war. Some of the people with this special request own shops in some of our markets across the state.

While as a government, we remain resolute in the protection of lives and property of Ebonyians and all residents of Ebonyi State, we are aware that it is the right of anyone to remain at home or go about his/her normal businesses in this regard.

Following the foregoing, the Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE who is highly in touch with the people has directed that those who may wish to remain at home with their shop(s) locked should neither be penalized, nor their shop(s) seized as it is their constitutional right while the rights of those who may wish to go about their normal businesses should not be infringed upon as it is equally their constitutional right.

He has also directed security agencies to do everything possible to maintain law and order in the entire Ebonyi State while maintaining the ban of any procession and gathering of any kind throughout the state.

How many shops do you think you can seize in a state. Do you have the man power to seize 100,000 shops in a day? Our leaders should stop thinking with their feet.

He just realised that those statement were idiotic.

Gov Umahi and Wike are suffering from verbal diarrhea and logorrhea. It is a type of mental illness starting with too much talking.

Even Gov Willie of Anambra State has laid wreaths in honor of Biafran fallen heroes.

Gov Okowa of Delta State announced that he will organize a memorial service in honor of Biafra fallen heroes. He further said that his uncle was among victims of Asaba Massacre during Nigeria civil war.

Lies(3×). Nobody sent u any special request to sit at home. These people jst act like 'god' in everything dey do. So som1 wud have to take permission from his/her governor, notifying him of their right to the absent from the public.
This one na PR stunt jare.Medicine after death on realising he messed up by spewing trash.
If people decide to sit @ home sef, na how many shops he fit lock in a whole state ??
