Would prefer a step up to Ligue 1 to be honest.

Had this discussion with my Rohr contact for months now about the lad but Rohr didnt even hint that Marcus will be called up until the list dropped.
There are lot of nice teams in Portugal league and he could start from there...teams like Braga, etc. Don't forget Zaidu went directly to Porto starting 11 from Santa Clara

William Troost Ekong has arrived in camp
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 6:16pm On May 31, 2021
He is no CM or DM. He isn't also a proper AM even though he had played there a few times. I speak of the experience of having watched enough of him play in Portugal in 20/21 season.

He is more an Left/Right winger and SS. Plays on the wings in a 4-4-2 or up top as a winger/wing forward in a 4-3-3 and also plays a few times up top in a two man attack.

So it's easy to know he isn't coming to solve our central/attacking midfield depth issues. He is more of another option on the wings as a winger, wing forward and Side midfielder.

Arabiandude:
At the bolded, we can't pass judgement just yet, he could become the answer, only God knows. He seems to be a good talent and he is also a left footed player, that means he can always deputize for Chukwueze
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 6:18pm On May 31, 2021
I agree. It's just that the talent I have seen him display this season makes me think he can cut it for good in Ligue 1 straight from the Portuguese second tier. He won about 7 MOTM awards this season (Another Nigerian won Six shaaa in same Division).

Ligue 1 would be my first option for him but staying in Portugal by making the step up to Liga NOS teams won't be bad as well.

This is rubbish. Unless you are blind or just trying to deflect from the truth, then it's no news that I have always mentioned him here and given reports of the lad severally. Cease with these false statements you make. Just like how you told us Nacho will end up in China before this season grin

If you don't know how to properly give credits to good work done here by some of us, then it's best you keep quiet instead of spilling more nonsense. Thank you Curtis. smiley
Did you make said posts before Rohr called him up or after?. If you did make them before, then I sincerely apologize. But the fact remains that Abraham Marcus was never a popular or regularly mentioned name here before the call up.

Nah, I think the Supernede has mentioned him here several times
Okay, it was an oversight on my part then.

You are still very wrong. Marcus makes my reports almost regularly showing his season stats and performances. All these before his call ups.

And not just me. Folks like Maidaboi will almost always drop a post when Marcus scores.

So again, you are giving false info. Just Drop it.

Philosopher1979:
There is a Nigerian prodigy in feirense if portugal with 5 goals in 9 matches. He just scored today. He is a winger who can also play as an attacking midfielder. His name is Abraham Ayomide Marcus
I saw one of his goals in Twitter and it was Ronaldostic.
He is 21 and top clubs are taking notice of him.
https://www.owngoalnigeria.com/2020/12/20/ex-remo-stars-teen-wonder-abraham-ayomide-marcus-cant-stop-scoring-in-portugal/

His case will be like Zaidu Sanusi and he might succeed in porto or benfica.
Let us just watch out for him.
He is a product of Remo Stars football academy
first mention of Abraham Marcus dated January 17

Other mentions of Marcus. This one is dated January 30. See report.

TheSuperNerd:
Marcus Ayomide Abraham scored again today for Feirense in the Portuguese Segunda Liga. His goal helped his side secure a 1-0 win away at Chaves.

His team is now up to Second spot on the table.

His stats read 7 goals in 10 games (5 starts).

His 5th goal in his last 6 games for Feirense.

In form!
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m):
Another report of Marcus dated Feb.23 (out of several more).

I don't normally have to dig back into past posts to prove anything but sometimes it's necessary to shut out very careless and ill-informed comments made here sometimes by certain monikers who only want to talk down on the Top efforts and works of some of the guys on this thread. It is becoming a very bad habit. Soon it will be a disease.

Bad belle only hurts the owner of that "belle". grin

TheSuperNerd:
Marcus Abraham Ayomide of C.D. Feirense in the Portuguese Segunda Liga played all 90mins as his side secured a 1-0 win over Academics Coimbra to sit second in the Segunda liga table (one of the two automatic promotion slots to the Portuguese Topflight).

He didn't score today but he's been on fire and was even recently named/crowned the Segunda Liga's Player of the Month for January.

His attacking numbers read: 7 goals + 1 assist in 13 games (8 starts).

Yes sir. Tbh Kwara did really good and they might have done better if their main man Steven Jude was available. I was actually disappointed because I had been longing to watch the guy play.

As for Akwa we have to start giving Kennedy Boboye the credit he deserves. Him and Salusi have really impressed me as tactical minds in our league. If he leads Akwa to glory it would be his second team to win the league with. This is a guy that has lost the league's top scorer and his best midfielder this season
