(1) That Ashipa is a Yoruba noble (of Ife royal descent) from Isheri-Olofin in today’s Lagos state.

(2) That the name Èkó (named by Yorubas) has been given to the island long, long before any immigrant group (Ijaw, Bini, Aja, et al.) immigrated to the area.

(3) That the Binis who had earlier attempted to settle forcefully in the area later came to settle peacefully after their permission to land was granted — having been beaten back and humiliated repeatedly by the Yoruba natives.

I’m not sure how you reason because these states (including Lagos state) were created only recently, and as such could not have been Oduduwa’s “cradle”.

On the other hand, Ile-Ife is the shared cradle of all Yoruba kingdoms (including some non-Yorubas’). It is from there that the Yoruba kingdoms (including those of Lagos, among countless others) sprang.
