The devaluation of our currency started during the era of Babangida. I cant recall which foreign financial body were exacting pressure on him to devalue our currency but he did. Very unfortunate.

you are wrong...amjor devaluation happened during buhari then..infcat it was during his tenure we started having different exchange rates from parallel market, to black market, to offical rate to several others

Every country on the planet has had problems and some even more serious than Nigeria’s own. We have just refused to do the right things. Some think it’s a quick fix by dividing, some restructuring, some 1963 constitution. I think whichever we choose we must strengthen our systems to work for themselves 90% independently and not with the influence and interruption of people whether of influence or power or what have u bt rather the Systems work by the instructions of the constitution.

Though I was barely a teenager in those days, I still remember newspapers dating to 1982.

In my first secondary school in 1983,i remember my mum everyday while going to work, ordering from the vendor "Times, Punch, Sketch, Tribune and Concord" and handing the vendor a one naira note. Each paper cost 20 kobo then.

Fast forward 1990 and a relative comes to Nigeria from the US and stays in my father's house. He complains Daily Times is now 2 Naira that when he was leaving, in 1984,it was 20k.

The biggest problem the country has faced in the last 40 years has been the wasted years of shagari, babangida and Abacha and it now includes Buhari's rule. Buhari ineptitude is a thorn to APC's flesh as many call him the "ill. ." word behind his back but need his massive and undeserved goodwill to win elections.

What about GEJ years? Abi something is wrong with your thinking faculty? Biased dimwit.

You think the above is possible in a country full of people with questionable value, people full of superstitious beliefs and lacking in self and collective discipline? People who can’t engage in critical thinking?
I really don’t think so. Our poverty and condition is not a surprise! We are truly terrible, just look at the reproduction birth rate of people with zero resources?

This is ONE NIGERIA for you. After 61 years of so called independence, you STILL have NO electricity, water, roads, no healthcare, etc., and yet some people are still clamoring for ONE NIGERIA.

There won't be peace and progress for Nigeria as a country if they don't allow BIAFRA go, no amount of name changing can stop that.

It starts by awareness and reorientation. Even a street dog can relearn the proper way to act.

“Most” of Our leaders are very wicked, u behave like a tout or a lowlife instead of them to correct u and show ur real value by teaching and treating u better they take advantage of ur deficiencies and treat u like a tout, lowlife and even a dog. Hence these Nigerians who don’t know their true value continue to behave like touts, lowlives and dogs. They keep u that way so they can use u for their despicable activities and agendas.

Many Nigerians don’t know their value. They have been abused and oppressed for as long as they can remember. Don’t despise Nigerians, despise our leaders. All of them.

You know I'm kinda tired of hearing people say this like there aren't whole white countries that want Nigeria struggling, so they can loot it.

White people haven't gone out of their way to ruin Asian countries like they have African ones. And since Asians have no self-respect and jump at the chance to be slaves and make white people sneakers for 5¢ an hour, white people have even less interest in ruining their progress.

Over the last five years even, whites have conspired to murder, overthrow, or undermine how many progressive black leaders? Like, why don't people devote effort to exposing exactly what these people do and how? In some cases, they don't even hide it. It's right there in agreements and policy for anyone to look up online.

I can see that a lot of Nigerians need serious mental and spiritual regeneration and reorientation.

You guys should stop complaining if there is a problem create a solution and stop nagging.

Your mindset shows the kind of person you are, from that 1986 till date there are thousands of Nigerian that become wealthy. Naira land owner became rich from grass to grace by identifying a solution to a problem, just like yesterday paystack owners became millionaires in a jiffy, do you know how they did it? Simply because they don't complain.

The same 1986 Atiku and Tinubu were nothing, they were just errand boys for the military but now they are the ones controlling the country...

What I believe is most of the youths that are complaining without finding a possible solution/ opportunities amidst the chaos are just following the footsteps of their parents ( Obviously their parents were also the nagging type during that era)....

Quit nagging and find a solution, people that are making it despite the shortcoming of the nation don't have two heads

I maintain that it is intentional.

The people we refer to as “leaders” in Nigeria are not up to 25,000 in number. That’s less than 1/10000th.........and we are sitting around blaming “leaders”!

Op, every problem is an opportunity to think outside the box and come up with creative solution. If the problem has been there for over 30 years, Nigerian graduates, what's the essence of your education if you cannot come up with solution to the problems of your country? Only a nation of goats expect problems to be solved by government alone.

The education is part of the problem. Nigerian education is a scam, thats why graduates are useless to the nation. The foundation of the country and is faulty but how some people decided to die for it with ak47 amazes me. The country needs reset, lord Luggard is an idiot.
