This is why Nairalanders are very foolish. VPN or not, the damage is done already. I don't know anyone who'll remain in a platform of a few hundred users. The fun many Twitter users get is the engagement from like minds. If the original Nigerian population there was two million only for the ban to reduce the number to six thousand, I surely believe those few thousands will pack up in less than two months. Nigerians hate being alone or being a minority. I don't have a Twitter account but can see myself not opening my computer to the many risks of employing a VPN. I'll jump to other platforms instead.

U r right.
VPN won't work because most people even lazy to use Twitter, how much more to go any little extra step. They'd simply not use it

Rissamenti I'm guessing "most Nigerians" made you their spokes person. Just wishful thinking on your partpost=102394088:
Most Nigerians won't bother with Twitter if they need a VPN to access it.

They will just move on to other platforms.

Quit kidding yourselves.

I am not a Buharideen but I am in full support of the Twitter suspension by PMB.

Twitter played a major role in #ENDSARS and the country is yet to recover from the spillover violence since then, the country is drifting into war all thanks to the drummers of war assembled on Twitter, twitter has a sizeable population of IPOB miscreants hell bent to use the platform to destabilize the country.

Funny this came out of sth called brain

Back to the topic, switching to VPN is like wilfully handing your personal data to a criminal all because you are been chased by someone you dislike.

Use VPN and surrender your life...worst decision for the unwise.

Life existed before the birth of twitter and life won't end with the ban or death of twitter.

Lastly, most of you celebrating the use of vpn don't know vpn too can be blocked should the government follow that route, China has blocked the use of some vpn, Government is collecting the list of vpn all of you are ignorantly posting here and very soon those vpn won't work again.

Those in support of this ban on twitter are either unreasonable, insensitive, ignorant, or just complicit.

Twitter is private social media company that has a right to delete any tweet perceived to be against their TOC.

If the presidency perceives a foulplay, the best they could have done in a democracy is to release a statement against it. Citizens who support and buy into this will join in solidarity.

But forcing 200 million Nigerians out all of a sudden is an insensitive, autocratic, kneejerk reaction. Twitter is a market and massive source of income for many Nigerians. It's been of great help lately. Note the recent murder case solved on the platform, funds raised for sickly people, spreading useful information, to name only a few. But the presidency isn't sensitive to all these.

This is a democracy. You don't force a people out of a neutral universally-poppular social media platform. Countries like North Korea, Iran, and China who have done that are dictatorships. As it stands, Nigeria is the first "democratic" country to do this.
Nigeria has never been a democratic government.. We practice civilian rule

Dear NL brothers and sisters, i lost my mother on Monday cry cry such a hard knock on me . I just hope God comforts myself and 3 sisters. I promise to make her proud for life. please help me with your words, I'm really down.

I am sorry to hear your loss bro. Losing a parent is a big blow, but trust me you will get through this grieving period. It is okay to cry as a man for a love one you lost, and grieving only shows you are human. But I promise you will get through this heartache.

I lost my dad during my NYSC days back in Nigeria and I remember I was sick and grieving for weeks because I was closest to my dad and he meant the world to me. Eventually his passing made me stronger and made me the man I am today. Lots of love bro.

Free Vpns are slow and most times drain your data. Also vpn can be banned.

Apparently, most Nigerians on Twitter are already suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, acting like they cant live without Twitter.

If you're an MTN user, you can use 24 clan VPN

It's free browsing, i stopped using it last year but I think it gives about 50mb free to browse and download

Also you can download puffin browser or epic browser or the likes of them that has automatic vpn in them (For less data consumption)

Peace...
