I need to drop this gist here.

I was picking up a vehicle at Brilla FM at Lekki with overheating issue. On getting to Civic centre opposite 1004 the car was already heating up. So I parked to let it cool down, so in the process I got a keg of water out to fill the radiator and next thing tow truck came and start attaching dem stuff to the car saying illegal parking.

Without stress I allowed them satisfy themselves and they drove me to their site at Muri Okunola VIO office. Immediately we got there the baba on duty just drop a ticket of 50k on my car.

Na there I change am for them. Para for them seriously that all the men in the compound come they tell me say i no go comot. The man they refer to as the commander started bragging of having 2 sons as captain in the army, na dere my head burst say this man dey whine me.

I just went to his front and asked him to call them come or if them no dey make him call GOC come. Omo this man pick fone dey make calls and ask someone to send boys to him that someone was insulting him here.

After that i just pick my phone call my guy that is working with Sanwo Olu, he's one of the army guy as escort to Sanwo Olu.... luckily he was around 4 point to deliver something to alake.

Na so my guy blow pilot and siren come VIO office show dem ID card omo respect start to they fly next thing the guy asked them if they like to transfer my car to Alausa or he should call the PA to governor.

Immediately the case die. Next thing dem turn my padi start to dey give me number say anywhere for lagos dem stop me make I call them.

In all one thing I know be say Mad people dey lag, just make sure say your madness is educated

Those in Army uniform have limited power .. Just because na army does not mean he will get his way ....make I gist my own.......

Few months ago when I was in the country .... We got a call from one of my uber driver.. The driver enter 1 way road .

And the road safety or lasma whatever they call themselves.. So they told the driver that he has enter 1 way road ... Na so the driver they fight with them back and fourth.. Claiming he knows his right etc ..instead of the stupid driver to settle these guys small change na he was forming tough man and dragging with them etc...

Na so road safety crew carry my honda civic to their station... Once it got to their station they said that for them to release the car we go pay 100k naira etc .. That once they enter the information into the system the car will be auction etc ... Meanwhile driver is fighting with them etc .. Driver called us and explain to us what was going on .. Driver said make we no worry he get Army friend. ... Driver call his army friend to the garage ... The Army guy arriving trying to flex his muscles grin.... After army flex his muscle tired and left ..na so driver called us ....... Lucky for me one of my friend knows the top Oga at the garage or station .. He made a phone call to the Oga ...my people got their and the driver was sweating looking dumb and stupid... My people went to the Top Oga saw spoke to the Oga within 5 minutes matter was settle .... He said make we pay 100k and we go avoid the car getting auction off .... Na so we pay the money 100k naira and car was release ....... It is more profitable for them to auction out the car than for us to pay that 100k naira...

So my point here Army power get limit.. Just because you know army does not mean that they will be able to ride people in situation.... In civil matter army get no power etc ...... If you see the level of confidence the driver had because of his army friend.... He was so embarrassed that Army friend no fit do anything at all ..

The only regret I have is that I didn't fire the driver after that incident .. My team advice me that I should let the driver pay off the 100k naira by him paying extra 5k weekly...... The driver only paid about 20k naira before dropping the car ... The driver still owning me over 60k naira till today .. Driver promise to pay till date we no hear from driver....... This is why in this business you can't show no pity to anyone.. It is a doggy eat dog business .......but like always dru23 will always prevail

The only thing I’m against and will never agree with is the phrase “Ehailing is better than career salary earners”. I picked a young guy in suit cool boy, we got gisting and he said he wants to join the hustle that a driver told him to resign is 200k job cos d driver earns 150 k every week. I screamed liiiieeeeee. He said no 150k before commission and that he’s left with 120k every week. I still shouted liar driver.
Told him the real Koko and the guy agreed he won’t resign but will start driving on weekends.
The worst thing a young man will do in Nigeria of today is to resign a job to come and drive

Anybody that takes your advice is a clown ... If ehalling is bad and this and that etc .. Why did you spend millions of naira buying a Tokunbo camry for uber.. We don't have any proof that you actually bought the car ... But let us say you did .. Why would you spend so much money on a business that you are cautioning someone not to venture... You could have use that money to travel or better yet start a business that is more profitable than uber.........

But at the same time you will be the first person to get up in the morning and drive grin ... You know this uber business past the uber company itself grin. You are wasting your time driving ... You should be a special consultant to uber Nigeria ..maybe you can teach them how to run their company..maybe you could be a life time coach or motivational Speaker. .... You are leading the blind ..blind leading the blind ..practice what you preach ... Quit uber and do something to prove to people that there are jobs out there better than uber .............. I come in peace o....

That car is overpriced at 900k. There are better looking Honda Civic on same Jiji, some with first Jody xef, in the range of 800-850k. Take your time.

Thanks a lot bro

VPN to the rescue

To what end? How many Nigerians will have the time to use VPN? Do you know the detriment of using a VPN at some point? Those that have lost their customers to this ban do they have to go to each of them and encourage them to get a VPN? How would they even get their contact? Knowing fully well they can only access them via DM. How about those that will lose their jobs as a result of this ban?

Well, let the people suffer, after all they voted for it. the only thing I pray they understand is they have sense to vote wisely come 2023.

Good evening everyone. Please I need your advice.

I recently bought engine for Mr Toyota Corolla LE 2003. The mechanic that fixed it for me recommend that I use VISCO 2000 engine oil which I did. Now I have made some research online and discover they VISCO 2000 isn't a good oil for the car. I have driven the car for about 2500 Odometer with the VISCO 2000 oil and no issues.

I want to change my engine oil to a very good oil,. I don't want oil that will damage the engine I borrowed money to buy at the long run.

Please if I change the oil will it affect the engine?

Kindly recommend a very good oil I can use that is relatively affordable.

Pardon me I discovered mobil 1 is good but very very expensive.

Is there any Other good oil out there that isn't too expensive?

Please your advice will be highly appreciated

Follow owners manual at all times.. Use 5w30 it is the recommended oil... Unfortunate too many fake engine oil out there.. Try Radauto on nairaland for 5w30.. If full synthetic is too expensive try semi blend.. Either way things are expensive now.... The oil might seem expensive.. But engine replacement will cost you more..... So chose your expensive wisely

Wat I do is wen am waiting for rider I will load the trip destination to get alternative fare review with my formula not d Google maps own. Or

Wen am ending trip I immediately do my calculations so wen bolt is loading up the fare I already hv my fare estimation so if it's shorts I do a trip review immediately bt I thank God for always giving riders dat pay there dues even wen we are far apart.

Let me give a situation I will never forget, u see bolt don't regard their drivers @ all, a trip from satellite Town to ikoyi is btw 2k-3.5k depends on time spent if u go tru mile2 bt a setting period mile2 was under construction rider requested I go tru cele-gbagada-3rd mainland Wich d fare is around 4.5k-6k depends on traffic so 1 morning I end trip bolt load 2.5k I and rider were shock because no bonus, straight to fare review bolt said d fare was correct 2.5k d 1st time I refuse to accept and pressed on d review bolt nw changed the whole narrative dat I took longer route I replied rider requested for the routes Dy even called rider and he confirmed and even told bolt to reflect correct fare here is the shocker bolt told rider to pay d 2.5k only bolt didn't reflect d fare invoice bt l8r gave me extra 2.5k.
So PL always hv idea ur fare price make bolt no shock u.

This is serious! But I'm not surprise though because bolt is capable of anything.

But if i May ask what type of phone do you use because I've never had a failed trip b4. This is where a good phone GPS comes into play.

Greetings chief,

Thank you for the bolded.

I'm a little indifferent about posting dashboards anyway.

But i just thought it'll be fair also note that there aren't alot of jobs here in Lagos with fairly good pay that won't put you under stress or some degree of suffering as you call it. If you know any, please do mention, i'd really like to hear it.

Not even the Customer care representatives you mentioned prior. I assure you that majority are contract staff with very minimal or no career growth atall. Monthly earnings ranging from 60 - 100k.

If you deduct cost of transportation and feeding finish, you go see sai na small thing remain.

We are all in a bleeping rat race.

I agree with you
but this is my point of view or comparison

1. Ehailing is not meant for graduates and masters degree holders. for example a young graduate in Nigeria who has a job let’s say customer care and earns 100k and is a contract staff. If he works for 3yrs in the office it will be easier for him to move to another coy or jappa to Canada than another graduate that is only driving on Uber.

2. You can’t drive for more than 3yrs and net 100k weekly and your health or life still remains normal. But dt contract staff can work for 5yrs and more.

3. Have you wondered how cashier at banks who earning 70k still pay for house rent, child school fees, buy car and land ? Some are runs and some loans.

4. Yes we all in dis rat race but
Ehailing in Lagos is extreme suffer (d traffic, d govt boys, d mad people , d robbery, d 419 fake transfer, bad roads) you will agree with me that it’s something to do a little and move to plan B
Same way contract staffs in office looking for plan B.

I didn’t buy car to do Uber, I was misled by dashboard and quickly register my car to start driving. But when I got in I saw the reality. So I try to caution people from making same mistake.
However I’m not saying there is no money in d hustle, but it is not sustainable (you can’t drive for 3yrs netting 50k per week and be okay.) you will make money driving but how long can you drive ?

Uber has been a stop gap for me, when chips are down, I carry car and hustle, when things pick up, I drop car and move on. It gives u fast money with no boss or beg to apply.

Alright sir, I will quit Uber and join you in yankee soon, just make sure you are not in Nigeria when I come grin

Let me shout it, there is big money driving you can make 300k and more in dis hustle if you stay online for more than 18 hrs everyday

Come, you don ever come across anybody that works as a customer care agent with say MTN or Airtel b4? Those guys don't have a life believe me when I tell you this. 4days stretch and 3days off... They spend 2days sleeping and the other 1 day washing their cloths and going back to work to resume a 24hrs/4days without sleeping again... This raining season thats coming now na serious challenge to them because sites are always going down due to rainfall and wind. Watin you even know about Nigeria labour market self? Where have you worked b4? You get certificate? You dey mumu ooo.

So it's a thing of pride for a masters degree holder to take a job that pays below 100k? Chai! See how foolish you're? I'd rather not waste my money on a child for him/her to have a MSc and pick a job that pays that less. Let that child go learn a trade then I establish him then cime back after he's 24 and compare the one with a PhD.

You even talked of traveling abroad or getting a better job? Which job? For where? Inside this obodo 9ja? Guy be careful with me ooh

Its a different thing if the job is a staffing job or with attractive salary( say 300k above) self not a contract job. Do you know how many have worked with Shell, Chevron,Mobil and many commercial banks as contract workers for 10, 15, 20yrs and above without any significant progress in life apart from having children and training them to secondary or the lucky ones to tertiary level? The day the company decides to drop them is the end. No benefit, no nothing just the salary for the numbers of days the person worked in that particular month. That's all! The person is left with virtually nothing to go home with. All his youthful life wasted! No strength to hustle again. Those are the old men you see driving uber today. I pity them ooh.

young man, no let me vex ooo.

Do you have an idea of the kinds of achievement an average hard working and intelligent uber driver can achieved in just a little space of time say 3yrs? I know a few who have built house, invest in business and are still driving till today. Graduates oooh. So dont say what you don't know or have first hand experience about plz.

Those people that first started Uber when it first came into Nigeria go and make a finding of how their lives is now, the ones that have sense oooh not people like you.

Abeg no read this post finish go drink snipper oo na in peace I come oogrin

Follow owners manual at all times.. Use 5w30 it is the recommended oil... Unfortunate too many fake engine oil out there.. Try Radauto on nairaland for 5w30.. If full synthetic is too expensive try semi blend.. Either way things are expensive now.... The oil might seem expensive.. But engine replacement will cost you more..... So chose your expensive wisely

Thank you so much

Please how do I contact radauto

To what end? How many Nigerians will have the time to use VPN? Do you know the detriment of using a VPN at some point? Those that have lost their customers to this ban do they have to go to each of them and encourage them to get a VPN? How would they even get their contact? Knowing fully well they can only access them via DM. How about those that will lose their jobs as a result of this ban?

Well, let the people suffer, after all they voted for it. the only thing I pray they understand is they have sense to vote wisely come 2023.

How are you so confident about this bolded?
During this just concluded chairmanship or whatever it was election lastweek. You need to see as people you are praying for to have sense were fighting over ballots, causing riot during the APC rally. See crowd along ogunlana drive during the nonsense APC rally .
So, I just concluded that some people are destined to be slaves. They are allegic to freedom

I explain this earlier that bolt prefers u take a faster route than anything cos their app dont calculate trip covered and time spent they only use estimate. In situation like this where u are about to take a different route immediately u deviate from the route update the trip from the app, preferably from the rider app to the same destination. Ur fare will be correct.

This is serious! But I'm not surprise though because bolt is capable of anything.

But if i May ask what type of phone do you use because I've never had a failed trip b4. This is where a good phone GPS comes into play.

Not a GPS issue because I do take rider to work every morning to ikoyi so on dat particular day I don't know wat Dy re into.
Phone is LG G6

Bro 3rd mainland is way faster Dan going through orile iganmu because if hold u there especially in the morning u must humble by force.
And mile 2 allow was under construction so b sure to spend btw 30min-1hr even in d morning bolt don't see all dis bt most times Google maps will tell u

and also those that thinks it's not business wise to sell off a car they've own for more than 3yrs and will still make profit.

The normal me self dont use car more than 2yrs, at most 3yrs I sell it off.

Why will u sell a car u used for 2-3yrs if the car was well maintained and is still in good condition? Just curious...I know when people sell cars, it's because they are tired of it and want a change or they are buying a new one and need space or wouldnt have need for the old one again. But when u r into transportation, d only time u sell a car is if the car is giving u more problems than the money it is making.
Well except u need urgent bulk cash.
But this one u r planning it way ahead of time...I just want to know
