Most Nigerians think employment means sitting in an office…
That’s why I never really pay attention to “unemployment” figures in Nigeria.

Good one.

You've just analyse most it.

Like what or example someone can do with reasonable achievement and less timing considering various impediments in Nigeria economy.

Actually once you get the wants/needs/problem of people and you can offer solutions to one or two of these problems all is good to go but considering the type of country, economy and government bottleneck policies with some realities on ground, what those businesses, solutions or services or technology you think you can advice me as your brother pr sister.

Thanks

I laugh because you haven't seen how fast some online businesses can change one's financial status in a short time. I used to have doubts about this online stuffs until I made my first six figure through one of them. Then a lady got all my pistons firing when she made her first seven figures. Now, While we both have our white collar jobs, we milk from both sides.

Look at it this way...

To make enough money from Barbing, you have to scale right, and the only way to do that is: either you increase the quality of your Barbing services (like Installing a Plasma TV, an air-conditioning system, repainting the room, and so on) or you increase the quantity/number of Barbers in the shop. That is hiring more capable hands who are also skillful. Which means you have more people to pay salary.

Thing is, there will always be a cap (limit) over what you can earn from barbing because you can't keep employing more hands, and the speed of employee A can't be that of employee B.. So that if the maximum no of customers all of you can attend to in a day is say 20, you can't exceed that 20 even if you open your shop in the midnight. That's what I mean by a cap over your earning power.

But when you look at some online businesses, you will realise that the biggest asset they have is the internet space. Think FB, YouTube, Google, Instagram, Linkedln, TikTok, Snapchat and the others you know...How many people visit these platforms in just one hour... Now you get the gist.

There's simply no cap to your earning power. And the sweet thing about one of them is that; apart from leveraging on the online space, you can leverage on offline businesses like the barbing and leverage on solving people's problems or providing solutions to their needs/wants.

To say you can earn #400k in a month, is putting a cap over it... There's simply no limit to your earning power.

If these five 'Things' are available:

People
Needs/wants
Solution
Technology
Skill ****

Then you can tie a business around it and make so much money on automation.

Knowledge is simply money.

I used to until I was forced out of the market by the way corn and butter kept skyrocketing by the minutes and when you try to reduce quantity, people who do not understand what the market says will say you're becoming greedy. I was tired of listening to all that, I had to quit.

A year or half a month preferably, depends on where he is planning to learn from. I would advise him to get a clipper, either wired or cordless before starting for practicals. A year is enough, if he is focused. Let him go to YouTube and watch free barbing tutorials also. If you need to know any other thing you can ask for my whatsapp number and let's talk better, good morning and happy sunday to you sir.

Actually, most of these so-called dirty jobs bring in money more than the so-called white-collar job. The only thing is that most of the people that do the former do not know money management. They tend to spend it on women and drinks and food. I know of a roadside mechanic that told us he makes about 300k a month. But if you look at him, he is suffering. He told us he wastes his money on nonsense. I know of a market woman selling stock fish that has properties in different places.
they come with their own kind of mental stress

@OP NO BE TO USE MOUTH TALK.THAT BARBING SALOON BILLS OF 1K HAIR CUT.THE SHOP OWNERS ARE PAYING LOT OF BILLS U CANT CHARGE THAT AMOUNT WITHOUT LOT OF BILLS.RENT FOR SHOP VERY HIGH NEPA BILLS SOME PAY LEVY.LOT OF CUSTOMERS MUST NOT BE EVERYDAY.YOU CAN MAKE 20K TODAY TOMOROW 8K NEXT TOMOROW 5K SO THE PROFIT AND AMOUNT VARIES.THERE IS COMPETITION BUT STILL BETTER THAN POS BUSINESS.LIKE THE OTHER BOY SAID MONEY THEY POS.I DONT THINK THERE IS MONEY IN THAT BUSINESS BECAUSE EVEN COMPETITION FOR POS NOW IS MORE THAN.BARBING SALOON.EVERY SHOP OWNERS THAT SELL.PERISHABLE GOODS STILL DO POS.HAIRDRESSING SALOON STILL RENDER THAT SERVICE TO THE PUBLIC EVEN BARBING.SALOON.POS CHARGES #100 for 4k why #200 for 5k to 15k.MANY PEOPLE DONT EVEN WITHDRAW MORE THAN 10K OR 20K FROM POS.BIGGER TRANSACTION THEY GO COUNTER FOR BANK OR ATM.EVEN ME I DONT USE POS.I ONLY USE IT TO SEND MONEY 3 TIMES TO.A COLIC BECOS OF EMERGENCY.MOST LUCRATIVE BUSINESS FAR BETTER THAN OTHERS IS TRANSPORT BUSINESS.NA EVERYDAY PEOPLE THEY USE TRANSPORT FROM.ONE PLACE TO PLACE.SO THAT ONE NA BLOCK ESPECIALLY IF U ARE THE OWNER OF THE CAR.POP CORN BUSNESS THAT ONE NA PETTY.BUYING AND SELLING IF YOU NO.BUY YOU NO GO SELL.IF CONSUMER DOES NOT PATRIONISE YOU THE GOODS WILL REMAIN THERE.MY TWO SIENA ON THE ROAD NOW GIVES ME 100K WEEKLY THAT IS 400K MONTHLY.THAT AMOUNT IS EVEN.LOW BECOS I GAVE IT TO A DRIVER.HE BUY THE FUEL.I ONLY DO.MAINTENANCE LIKE CHANGING OF OIL.SINCE I.BOUGHT.THE 2 TOKUNBO I.HAVE ONLY CHANGE OIL NO MAJOR.REPAIRS.THE DRIVER MAKES MORE THAN.THAT WEEKLY BUT I WANT HIM TO EAT TOO TO.HIS MAXIMUM SATISFACTION.I CHOP YOU CHOP SO BE SERIOUS.THE BUS I GAVE BALANCE AND TAKE FOR 3 MILLON NAIRA THE DRIVER BRINGS 40K WEEKLY.MY 3 BARBING SALOON REMIT 60K WEEKLY THAT THAT IS 2OK WEEKLY 80K EACH A MONTH.240K PER MONTH FOR THE 3.SO I PREFER TRANSPORT AND BARBING SALOON.OF ALL BUSINESS.

[quote author=Jh0wsef post=102415985] Getting a skill is one of my greatest achievement in life, knowledge is power they say.

I chose graphic designing, I started three years ago. It wasn't so easy then, but I'm glad it's worth it. And has paid off. Brands come up everyday, new Adverts, new posters, new logos, new flyers, new business cards ya never ending.

I could make up to 40k a day. once you freelance, you design for several brands / people. so you are sure of a next job.

I tutor people, because this country na all man for himself. it's not free all the same, knowledge is power. Perseverance is key as well. But once you're good, you're good.

You will charge 50k, they will beg you to collect 40k wink that's the drill. Because they know your worth and capabilities.
