I still wonder how after 4 years of Gernot Rohr in charge, we seem surprised at the results we get. Lets ask ourselves a sincere question. From the match against SA in Uyo till now, what has changed? Whats our identity? What is this team known for? Other than to be experimenting new players. We have been told now that its just a friendly. Hence a disjointed play is allowed.

Newsflash people! The earlier we settle it within our hearts that with Gernot, qualification is a breeze! Actual showpiece will be a disaster, the better. Its one caveat here, excuse there and provision for failure upfront all over the place. You get what you get and dont get upset!

Both tactically and technically that game was an embarrassment.

Our attempts to press high up the pitch was laughable. Not once did we succeed in forcing a turnover from it. You only need one player to not be doing his job and your press is a waste of time. The Cameroonians actually showed us how to do it properly when they could be bothered.

Our build-ups from the back were extremely predictable after only 5 mins of watching. Defender passes the ball through the middle, receiving midfielder feels an opponent nearby and so quickly returns ball to sender and runs 10 yards further up the pitch taking opponent with him. Rinse and repeat until ball is lost in a crowd of legs half way inside the opposition half.

Our only saving grace which seemed to have been our speed on the counter was made pointless due to yet again extremely poor decision making in the final third.

We don't have an identity as a team. This may sound cliche but for a team to be successful every player needs to be fully with a program. In our case, at least today, there wasn't one.

At least you understood the rhythm and tactics and could read what they were playing unlike their previous games.

Rohr impressed me today

Meeting with the President is no small thing. He's definitely going to make the switch.
They should work on Lamptey and Nketiah too.

Ozornwafor was decent today, he was comfortable on the ball but can be sloppy at times, I think he could do a good job in Portugal or Turkey

This team has totally lost it's identity.
They now play kick and follow hoping for something to happen.

Creativity was very poor to say the least. Coaches shouting at the players as if they are cadet players. Always so in a haste and end up with the wrong decisions at the final third. This team should be getting better with time but it has become the other way round.

This is not the Nigerian National Team I used to know.

Shehu has been an old member of the team starting from the 2014 CHAN team.

But I wonder why Kenneth Omeruo has never been considered, considering he is about the oldest Member of that team, alongside Musa.

I like how you write sir, it oozes objectivity. Meanwhile let me wait to read sir Basco's opinion so I can know if we were really poor as I no watch the watch.

No single creativity. Marcus has good ball handling and confidence, but was also slow and predictable.

The only reason why I'm not blaming Rohr is that I expected the result. You can't perform magic when your entire backline is missing, your top strikers and creative winger and midfielders are injured. And we did not play a weak opposition.

Despite the draw with Cameroon, This is one of the best Super Eagles match that i have seen in a while.

It looks to me like Rohr had help with team organization and tactics.

I like our build up plays.

We should jettison 4-4-2 and revert to 4-3-3, We don't have the kind of midfeld that will make the best of 4-4-2.
The kind of fowards we have are best suited to 4-3-3.

I hear Ejiaria and Lookman has been cleared by fifa. Perhaps we'll see what the old man can do with them subsequently. I've long lost interest in this present team coached by low-budget Wenga.
I also hear that also . Finally FIFA cleared the nff is also working on Michael Olise switch to Nigeria

I expected a better game from today's match. This is not an issue of the back line. The back line we had over both games were mostly players who are not new to the team.

The only two Key players missing were Osimhen and Chukwueze.

Besides, also Cameroon paraded a poor team over both legs.

We are Nigeria, we know how we play the game. What we saw especially today was a far cry from what we have been known for. The team does not even have players with the leadership instinct who can raise his game and carry the other players along.

Rohr really needs to raise the tempo of this team before the WCQ starts.

Over all, it is a disappointing performance over both legs.

Iwobi played deeper.

The kind of fowards you need for this kind of game aren't Rohr's favourites, players like Ejuke, Onyekuru.

Chukwueze is not even Rohr's kind of player, but his showings against Cameroon in the last three meetings with them, made it seem laughable to continue keeping him on the bench.

All these Foreign borns switching to Nigeria, well it is good we have a larger pool. But, we at this point, really need to evaluate their impacts in the national team. Cos the way it is now , the top players in that team are Nigerian grown: Osimhen, Ndidi and Chukwueze.

See that Moffi guy now today, after all hype about him.

We missed Etebo in the midfield. Iwobi should have played the SS, while iheanacho the ST, at least the attack would not have been this blunt.

Nevertheless, i was impressed with the team's tactics.

Time for Rohr to go.

But NFF are never dedicated to the maximum benefit from such plethora of talents to employ a coach that would make this team one to be respected in Global Football.

They think of Salary whenever the wantu consider coaches instead of his quality.

Its like Loving Conte on paper and getting a low budget Claude le Roy, and still owe salaries for months.
