Go do tiling, this days there are more Barber than tillers, cos those guys doing tilling don turn Yahoo and are getting few apprentice, you know people are building more houses than before so u could get customer very fast, but barbing there are to many Barbers cos is a fine boy job, some are even Yahoo boys and can spent more than a million setting up there shop and barbing with the same low price as yours, they get more customers than you, and you be frustrated and later close ur shop. Barbing is okay as you'll invest the money you got from your brother.


Tiling will make you spend a little from the money to pay for the apprenticeship, only to spend the rest for trans and misc.

If you don't mind travelling once in a while go for tilling. It will give you enough money to take care of yourself and your family and you maybe lucky to travel out of the country with that skill in the future, that is if you are focused and commit your time to learn the work properly and you have a dream to step out of naija. But if you are the type that want to be with your family every day at least after work, then settle for barbing.

N300 kwa, man don suffer, Miss it depends on the location and how good the guy his, the least in my area is N500.

His brother in Canada can help me with a skill trade program if he can learn more tiling. It's lucrative in Canada....

Hmm.. barbing is less stressful

Tiling can fetch him money. But, remember is based on contract. Sometimes it may take up to 1 -3 months before one could get another tiling job depending on the geographical location of the person. Nevertheless, is still a good skill to acquire.

On the other hand, people must have their haircut. But the saloon must be located in a busy and well crowded environment in order to gain more patronage.

But all the same, both skills are good. It depends on the choice of the person who's learning the skills.

As for me, since he's a family man, let him go for barbing for now, perhaps he can go for tiling later on.

Don't learn barbing, barbing is good from 18 to 25, at your age you need a work that can earn you enough to feed a family.

Consider the health challenge as a result of the long standing hours everyday working as a barber. My favorite barber is thinking of quiting and getting barbers work for him because of his lumber pain as a result of long standing hours. He's being in the business for 20yrs, still in his 30s.

Tiling job might not come regularly, in those period when job is not coming you work in your salon together with the other barber.
Other periods when you have tiling job, you leave him to manage the shop.

1. For u to earn much in barbing u need to make ur shop more standard whc ur 500k cannot do dat wth d way barbing things are cost(rent-200k, barbing chair d least one 35k.. let say for three barbers ie 105k,towel warmer 35k, clippers super tapper 35k*3=105, customers waiting sit 45k, mirror 50k×3, television 120k...omo dem plenty ooo electricity,generator,fan or Ac
2.u dnt knw how to barb..those barber go just d turn turn ur investment play
3.barbing business is just to sustain u for awhile cost d will be new saloon always and customers will like to taste it tooo
In ma own opinion just go for ur tilling job if u make enough cash u open saloon whc will be like anoda source of income
