They can STILL threaten you. All they have to do is reduce production for a year or two. They won't starve. YOU WILL.

I won't starve because what they produce are not ONLY what I eat. Should Nigeria fragment, you think South would loose? What they don't have comparative advantage in when it comes. to food production, the deficit can be imported from Benin Republic and Cameroon. Remember in 2016 when moths destroyed tomato farms across the North, traders focused on importing tomatoes from Cameroon and Benin Republic. Even many West African countries will be so willing to produce and sell to the South, collect the money the South have been paying the Northern farmers for their produce. cheesy

For the North being landlocked they will have to pay the Countries in the South to use their sea ports for imports and exports or negotiate with Benin Republic to be using their sea ports, the oil money they get monthly as Federal Allocation will cease likewise the bigger taxes generated from businesses in the South. They can be consoled by their reduced production, let them just make sure that dire hunger in the North is taken care of.

Just like that huh?

Your naivety is amazing.

You actually think that BENIN REPUBLIC and CAMEROON can replace the supply chain of food from the north to take over the feeding of 140 million+ people in southern Nigeria?

Where the hell is their capacity to do such a thing?

How many farmers are in Benin Republic?

What is the size of their arable land?

Do you think this is all about chest beating stupidly?

This just shows Nairaland is full of kids with nothing upstairs.

So the South now have140million+ out of the approximate 200m population and the North has been chest beating they outpopulate the South. cheesy

Uncle that have something upstairs, so you think agriculture is solely tied to size of arable land or number of farmers. The size of Israel is not up to one-third of Bornu State while more than 50% of Israel is desert but still Israel is a major exporter of fresh produce to the world.

Your cows which are reasons your herdsmen are murdering other Nigerians is not even producing up to 5 litres of milk daily while Kenyans your fellow Africans who keep 100 cows on 3 plots of land are getting a daily average of 20 litres of milk from a cow as there are many Kenyan owned farms even producing over 35 litres daily from a cow.

Don't pity the South, should Nigeria break up as we would find our way not to starve. cheesy

Smh u are funny. I was listening to an Igbo man on radio lamenting how price of onions has skyrocketed y'day and here u are saying south hasn't noticed. Lol

Moreover north is a gateway to other African nations. There isn't even any border so goods and foodstuff will just pass easily. There are many willing buyers of foodstuff. Hunger go kee una grin cheesy

Nobody in the South even knows their is a blockade

If the north is the gateway then why is the North crying?

There is scent leaf in the east. Adds more flavour, aroma to food. So keep your onions to yourselves. Abi is it by force to sell onions
