We should go back to first republic style of government..... 6 regions(NE,NW,NC,SW,SE,Midwest/edo + Delta) with the current states becoming provinces. We have way too many LGAs that are nothing but money wasters at this point. With 54 provinces(36 current states + 18 more from 2014 confab report), we can proper decentralize things like policing and town planning to this level

The Local Governments were killed by the Governors. Honestly Governors are much more enemies of the people than the President for many reasons:

1. They stifle LGAs and do not allow them to function. LGAs are the closest to the people and responsible for most things such as non-metro roads, waste managements, etc.

2. They want to administer the Judiciary also by not allowing them the autonomy granted by the constitution.

3. They pocket the State Houses of Assembly so they can do whatever they want without the constitutional and democratic checks and balances.
