jimyjames: London has 18th century architecture. I guess Onitsha is better than London. Onitsha is less than a fifth of the size of Ibadan so I don't see how all the buildings in Ibadan will fit into Onitsha except you have a plan I don't know of. Really? ShopRite has its own niche and local markets and malls do not fall into such niche. So, no way ShopRite is competing with 2by2 shops selling substandard goods in Onitsha main market. That's pure fallacy 5 Likes 1 Share |

Ournolly:You're right jare my brother. The reason many of us don't also know that there are Onitsha billionaires richer than Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos is because we don't travel. Assuming we liked travelling, we'd know that Onitsha's population is 6.9 million, Awka 4.9 million, and Nnewi 2.9 million. infact, Anambra's total population is 16.9 million. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Newton85: My friend rivers state has no population at all igbos from South East make up a good percentage in river's state, recently governor wike said they announced job vacancy for 5 thousand people, 30 thousand of those that applied were not from river's state, river's state is just a state with minority tribes, ebonyi is more populated than river's state if we go by true statistics Onitsha has always been the most populous city in eastern Region, since in the 50s till date 1 Like |

Agbegbaorogboye: My friend place the bungalows in Ibadan on top of each other to form 4 to 6 storey each, it will fit into Onitsha and a lot of land with be left empty, take the 4 to 6 storey buildings in Onitsha turn each floor to bungalows it will cover the entire Ibadan plus the empty lands in Ibadan I repeat there is no way shoprite will survive in Onitsha market there is nothing shoprite sells that you won't find in Onitsha even cheaper than the one in shoprite, most costumers who buy things at shoprite are consumers, people who buy things from Onitsha are traders buying to resale. 2 Likes |

jimyjames: You have no facts to back up your claim. Just your wishful thinking. If you add UI and UCH together, I'm sure the land area will be bigger than Onitsha. I doubt there's any building in Onitsha taller than the admin block tower in UI or the UCH main complex which is about 14 floors all these without mentioning the first skyscraper in Nigeria called Cocoa House in Dugbe Ibadan. So you see, you know next to nothing about Ibadan just your own wishful thinking. I have educated you about ShopRite already. It's market niche is not same with that of the Onitsha traders who excel in low quality and cheap goods. You can show me a boutique that sells original designer wears in Onitsha main market. What you inadvertently saying is that people in Onitsha are too poor to afford quality, high-end goods and prefer the low quality that Onitsha main market offers. It's just like saying people in Ibadan will abandon ShopRite for Aleshinloye or Gbagi markets. They are different niches and people in Ibadan know when and how to patronize both, 1 Like |

Agbegbaorogboye: I don't have to keep going in cycles with you, add the bungalows in Ibadan on top of each other to form 4 to 6 storey each, it will fit into Onitsha with plenty land left Onitsha market is not only for people of Onitsha people come from far and wide to buy cheap things in Onitsha to go sell to make profit, Onitsha people are not bothered about wearing designers they are more concerned about selling designers, there is nothing shoprite has that you won't find in Onitsha market they sell both original and not original ones |

Newton85: Which do u support now? Housa/ Yoruba cooked up lies that anambra state population is 7 million or The unbiased statistics released by an international intelligence reports? Why don't u travel and confirm things for yourself before coming out to yab? I have been to Ibadan, lagos, port Harcourt and currently reside in Benin city. That Ibadan with it's bungalows is 4 times as large as Onitsha with mostly to 6 stories building, we agree to that, but if we are to convert all the buildings to bungalows, that will give u six times the current land mass of onitsha, telling u that onitsha is more populated? We are not talking about land mass here but on the population density. Nigerian Government may deceive her citizens but international organization will always tell the world the truth 2 Likes |

jimyjames: Show me a 10, 14 and 25 storey building in Onitsha and then we can start having a conversation about what can fit into what. I already told you Onitsha main market and ShopRite don't have the same niche. You just alluded to what I've been saying about the cheap and low quality of Onitsha goods. At least you can believe yourself if you have a problem believing me. This is funny. Onitsha sells original designer wears? Oya show me. Who do you think you are talking to? |

International statistics placed the estimated population of Onitsha which in all indications is very much on point, be free to cry from now till the next 100 years but it won't delete the fact that Onitsha is more populous than Ibadan. 1 Like |

Agbegbaorogboye: That ibadan has three Government built sky crappers in the middle of slums doesn't make it more developed than a city with thousands of 6 storey buildings by individual millionaires. Admin block and cocoa house to hundreds if not thousands of high rise buildings is nothing but stupidity, thankfully Igbo has no hand in the statistics above, if u can't travel, stay back then and cry to urself..... 1 Like |

Agbegbaorogboye: How many skyscrapers are in Ibadan? Just one or two, how many 6 storey buildings can you add up to make one 25 storey building? Just 4 , so the one or 2 skyscraper in Ibadan surrounded by old bungalow will be cancelled with just ten buildings containing 4-6 storey buildings in Onitsha, and don't forget Onitsha has uncountable of such 6 storey buildings Yes I repeat there is nothing in shoprite you won't find in Onitsha, both original and none original 3 Likes |

jimyjames: Lol. Just one or two in Ibadan and none in Onitsha. The whole of Onitsha is just one LG out of the 11 LGs that make up Ibadan. Yet you somehow believe that the 11 LGs have only one or two skyscrapers. I've mentioned 3 buildings with mpore than 10 storeys already. There's also Agbowo shopping complex with 7 storeys too. Same with Premier hotel with 10 storeys. MJ glass house with 7 etc. Like I said you don't know Ibadan which is why you claim ALL the buildings in Ibadan are bungalows. I can bet Oluyole LG has more high rise buildings than the whole of Onitsha. But will you agree? Go and rest. You're ignorant. Lol. So you can find original D&G wears in Onitsha market?
