Funny thread.

There is a reason why people pray things should be the way they should be.

I would not like people who do not understand reciprocity in whatever form.

If you are at home, biko make yourself useful and provide relief; let me know that I am not alone and feel your impact.

I did it myself when I was job hunting and my youngest siblings were doing their SSCE: I did all chores (washed their uniforms etc) till making lunch for them sef.

I remember when I was hustling for admission for masters when a job wasn't forthcoming; my mom washed all my clothes. I came back home and picked up the baton of all chores.

I honestly can't stand someone who is home and would wait for me to come back and take care of all stuff.

On the flip side, both parties MUST ensure they have mutual respect for each other.

Know your brother.
Is he the type that gets angry easily?
Does he have a big ego?
What is his character?

I'm pointing this out to you because you've got some really good advice that I 100% agree with especially from bukatyne and ImaIma1.
But they're women, and women don't put much emphasis on pride, hierarchy or ego as much as men. So while their advise is good it's not copy and paste.

Is it rigth or wrong to send your elder brother on errand?
You have a brother that seniors you with 4years,am 27,he's a final year student,he's going to school is a collective effort from the family but the Lions share always come from you the junior one,as the only person who has a meaningful business doing.others contributes tokens with food.
So as soon to be graduate, your brother is planning to come stay with you for the main time so as to look for work or to check if your area will be good for him to put his nysc assignment.so the question now is who's going to be doing the cooking?like you took food items home after your busy schedule at the shop, but he was ahome all through the day, will you still come and do the cooking or indirectly tell him to cook it?wunt he misunderstand you?please I need answers.
I don't mean he should come washing your clothes.but like cooking keeping the house clean since you are the one providing the rents food and every other things.
He is your senior brother and you have to accord him that respect unless he is a liability

That you are in good position now doesn't mean others won't get there

When you buy food stuff, politely tell him that you will cook rice let him cook stew as you are tired

He may say don't worry I will fo the cooking

After rest or meal, you can clean the place

If you want to send hi an errand just do that with courtesy

The issue here is that you guy's ego and pride is always your problem and it doesn't help anybody. Instead, it is a very large problem that should be done away with so that everyone can put heads together.
Every single time. The problem always comes down to their unreasonable illogical egos not rooted in reason or common sense.

If there’s food in the house why should anyone beg him to cook it to help out the brother who’s out there hustling to keep them fed, housed and paying for his education? I just can’t

Since he's the older brother, he can't stoop low to cook. Instead his brother must come back as the younger one to come and cook and serve him.

Humility is really far from some people. You can see a lot of them on this forum faulting the op for expecting assistance from his brother.

The funny fact is that if he went to stay with a friend instead, he would've be cooking and tidying up and trying to be a good guest. But because he's staying with his younger one,he has to cross his legs and form boss, and people see nothing wrong with that.

.

Who has been doing all the cookings all these while..?

Well, if your elder brother is sensible enough, he would try and make himself useful..
There is no way we would expect you to return from work everyday and still enter kitchen and cook.. That wouldn't make sense at all..

Funny thread.

Even more funny that some people see everything wrong with the elder cooking and doing chores but its okay if the younger one pays a sizeable amount of the elder's fees, comes back from the same hustle that generates the fees and he's still supposed to do chores while the elder has been at home since morning does nothing instead waiting for younger bro to come and cook.

There is no sense in that.

There are times even parents do chores for their children, not because the children are not of age but because it was the sensible thing to do at that moment.

The "senior brother" does not apply when he's collecting money, it only applies when it's time to help around the house.
