I am not religious (Quit religion over a decade ago), hence I'm not given to superstitions. So, these stories come off to me as very idiotic and backward.

The only reason I avoid most Nigerian eateries (Including fast food outlets) is because of their poor or even lack of basic hygiene... I have had near death experiences from ingesting dangerous micro-organisms from these poorly regulated restaurants.

A country of Nigeria's level ought to have health and food inspectors at federal, state and local government levels monitoring and investigating all eateries at least weekly... There ought to be weekly inspection of premises and cooking ingredients. The visits should be impromptu also.

Superstition has reduced some nigerians to wild brute beasts with ZERO intelligence.
If cooked food sellers are fetish, then maybe the raw food and farm produce sellers are also fetish.

So maybe the OP should stop eating entirely or grow and cook all his own food, in which case, the previous land owner of the farm may also have been fetish.
In a country where people believe human parts can bring money , because we are not superstitious does that mean we should not becareful for our lives? Does you not being superstitious save you from ritualists?

So also a person belives using mortuary water to cook can bring her customers, even if you don't believe it,does that mean you should eat the food?

Make una dey use sense dey talk sometimes. That you don't believe in such things doesn't invalidate the fact that the activities of the one who believes it can harm you.

Nigerians and ignorance, they cannot proof all these ridiculous claims.. the only thing yous need to worry about when eating in restuarants are hygiene and food poisoning due to lack of unhygiene.

Eating at local bukas can be dangerous most times. When you see grown adults queuing up with plates in their hands just to buy food from a particular buka just know there's something else involved grin

For some months now, I eat outside cos of my day to day busy schedules...

Infact for almost a year now, have been eating outside.

So recently, my sales reps noticed something. No matter the amount of food we buy at our local buka, the maximum time to stay filled is 2hrs then we are hungry again.

So some people came around my place and it was a topic for discussion...

I was told most of them use broom to wash their pot before and after cooking.
Some use the water they used while bathing to cook...

I heard of one that happened in Akure back then at Arakale or is it Oyemekun now, they found human skull at the bottom of her soup pot, the soup never finishes before another is poured in but this time, the madam was not around and there were many people who came to buy food so so they couldn't add to the soup on time so the skull became visible..

Have heard about those who use water used in bathing dead body to cook..

So many things were discussed so, have you had any of such experience or experiences before or na just dem say dem say?

So your nonsense post is about 'them say them say'

You have a problem.

In the 80s, there used to be this very popular Calabar woman that sells food only at night. She was so popular that only rich guy would access her food. Customers line would extend from the house to the road and wait time was like 1hour plus. Her food was very tasty and rich, stew, rice, fried plantain, bean, moi moi , she knew how to make them come out really good.
People would sometimes even fight when she bypasses the line to serve bigger boys with cash. But eventually, rumor of her supposed secret creeped in and the whole town was enraged. He business did not survive it as mere thinking about what they accused her of would make one throw up any food from there.

Her competitors destroyed her name....and it worked cuz una no get sense.

Hmm...for someone whose family business was food selling, I find it difficult to believe these stories. One reason could be because we never practiced such and people sometimes out of envy would say anything.

Such things dont exist.

We do not understand the concept of how restaurants in obodo Oyinbo run. Or how they run businesses in general.

Our generation are doing better than our parents.
