benalvino2:American blacks didn't flock to America neither did Japan colonise any African nation so there is no or little historical correlation between japan and the black race. In contrast since blacks were taken to America as slaves and their decendants were emancipated and freed becoming citizens they by law and policies have not yet been allowed the benefits of citizenship on the basis of racial discrimination. Mind you the other critical point apart from race is citizenship, if they were citizens in name why weren't they treated as actual citizens in truth? If race is your answer then you have understood my point |

AmazonTopaz:Found it interesting he's willing to lower the filibuster threshold down to 55. I'm happy the likes of Stacy Abrams have come out and said they don't have an issue with Voter ID.

Timiofak:Trust me, I'm humouring you. You should be more focused on learning in-demand skills even in school so you can boost your earning power and never have the need to showoff #22,000 - #25,000 as 'living the life'. Ask your parents if that is enough to take care of sundry bills in 2 days. You won't know because you wake, eat their food for free, use what they pay for, and because you can afford donuts and Pepsi yourself once in a while, you think #25,000 is living the life? You are living a cushioned life. When you start paying bills or having people dependent on you, you'd know that was a silly thing to show off. I'm sure you don't even know how much they paid for the electricity last month? You don't as they offset all the bills for you. I've already told you to ask for my name from the guys here. Mention them on an inactive thread. You'd easily find me on social media - my name is very unique. Even if you chat me up, I'd respond like the two who chatted me up with fake accounts on WhatsApp this evening, and one on Facebook since on Monday evening. And if you already have digital tech skills ( I doubt you do), it's even a better reason to chat me up. These guys aren't going to help you be a better person. They want you to stay down so they can insult you and call you poor, and maybe occasionally do $100 giveaways to their "loyal supporters". If you are active on Twitter, you should know this. ![]() |

edi287:I don't think Manchin or any democrat can win in WV anytime soon.I might be wrong though Manchin is a conservative democrat and former governor still popular but with the way he has been behaving Dems should win more seats and he should retire in 2025. I don't like is attention seeking. The media should ignore him |

sanpipita:I understand him pushing for Bipartisanship but he needs to be realistic. I doubt the likes of Moscow Mitch and Cruz would be this "noble" if they were in his shoes. Then again, he's in a very red state. |

AmazonTopaz:Yeah that's what I mean when I say Dems should use this to rally their base in other states. Manchin meanwhile can always push "country over party" angle and how he's been preventing the "progressive left" from hijacking the party. |

Cornpop:I will play grammar police on you simply because you're obnoxious, when insulting get your spellings right or your insults will insult you first, the correct spelling is ''dialogue'' and also ''old'' and ''granny'' aren't insults, you'd be lucky to be addressed as such |

DissTroy:And in your small mind, you think I am a leftist because I hate the Qanons, the orange turd, the deplorables and every other thing that those cultists stand for. ![]() I only see good and evil, and I align to the side of good. The MSM does not need to demonize the orange turd. He does that himself and perfectly; hence, he is good for business. To shoot himself in the foot, all Cadet Bone Spurs needs to do is speak, tweet or release those foolish statements. I can't believe Biden giving a state gift is even worthy of discussion. Putin would be a fool to keep that sunshade or the other gift to himself, and Biden sure knows that. |

Tdotbluejays1:I am a Progressive and a proud Leftist in the mode of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and damn proud of it and wears it as a badge of honor. I dare any coon worth his salt to bring out any Republican president in the last 100 years to compare the achievements to that of FDR. There's a reason President Roosevelt was elected to four consecutive terms. |

Tdotbluejays1:You have never denied being a Leftist in all our exchanges over the months, or with Anuj e else s that's that. Just like you term me a Conservative for being anti-Leftist, even though I have stated in the clearest of terms I am mostly an Independent or Neutral? Same stance I take in. Nigerian politics - I'm neither APC, nor PDP. A perusal of my social media would prove that. Back to LEFTIST HYPOCRISY: 1. Here's CNN criticising Trump for closely interacting with Putin. This is as recently as December 2020: https://edition.cnn.com/2020/12/22/world/meanwhile-in-america-december-21/index.html 2. Here's CNN praising Biden for being chummy with Putin just 7 months later in June 2020: https://edition.cnn.com/world/live-news/biden-putin-meeting-geneva-updates-intl/index.html My point again? Hypocrisy. Never strayed from this. Never raised other talking points unrelated to this for weeks now. I don't get distracted. Never. ![]() |

PrideofLincoln2:I am more of central leaning. Heck, I even had a tough decision voting either the conservatives or the Liberal in the last election. I vote solely based on merit. I would be damned to support those evil cultists calling themselves conservatives in America. The republicans have been bad, but the last 4 years under the orange turd was terrible. It's just pure evil and nothing else. As usual the so called opposition tried to make Biden's gift to Putin an issue. ![]() When Trump was giving state gifts to China, and other countries, did the Dems make a big fuss out of it? No. I recall him giving a gift to XI and receiving same from Putin. The left didn't turn it to talking points but here we are. The right shouting hypocrisy because of a state gift ![]() |

The Hill is not left; yet, they had a news report of GOP senators criticizing Trump after his meeting with Putin in Helsinki. Don't tell me those GOP senators including close associates of Trump are leftists or hypocrites. Your bias is showing when you post just links from CNN just to fit your narrative. https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/397339-gop-lambasts-trump-over-performance-in-helsinki

Tdotbluejays1:I am a Progressive that supports 2nd Amendments and personally against abortion which I do not enforce on women. I guess with some people they align me to the moderate corners but supporting Racists and Nazis that fills the conservative party is an abomination for me. |
| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by Tdotbluejays1: 1:05am On Jun 18, 2021 |
PrideofLincoln2:It's good to be progressive. I often try to strike a balance. Just like you, there are some liberal policies I don't agree with but it doesn't border me aslong as those believes are not imposed on me. There is the freedom of choice which I am never against. Immigrants or descendants of immigrants would naturally lean conservatives, but my issue with the cons, especially in the US is their acceptance of racists and nazi scums within their party ranks. It's not that bad in Canada. The cons here are very quick to oust the racists ones within their ranks and publicly condemn them. They are also quick to re-register them from the Conservative party of Canada. Heck an MP was kicked out for accepting a few dollars from a racist donor even though he had no idea of the donations. After several weeks of deliberation, I eventually cast my vote for Trudeau. His support for equal opportunity and diversity did it for me. A post from Quora below drives home my point.

Tdotbluejays1:If the Republican stay through to their callings, they would have attracted Blacks in their camps as it was in the early 1900s till Herbert Hoover started with his hatred during the late 20s Great Depression when there were soup lines all over America and Blacks were being shunned. FDR came in with his Great Deal and reversed the Great Depression into surplus by building infrastructures all over America giving Americans jobs and starting what's now known as Social Security which helped the Senior Citizens out of poverty and the Republicans opposed it. That's why FDR was rewarded with four consecutive terms in office and that's what turned Black folks into the Democrats camp. I have some conservative leanings too like the 2nd Amendment thing and abortion but my number 1 reason for hating the RepubliKKKans is the racism that they embrace. |

GalaticHorde:All your standards lies on blacks. Whites were slave too. So because Japan did not colonize Africa that means they are great. Japan cognize China and other Asian countries around them but I guess they don't count becuase they are not black nations ![]() And I am saying if they go to the Japan you mentioned here they will be seen as outlaws. You don't know how cultural protective Japan is. This you whole standard for blacks no make sense. The United States too did no colonize any African country. Sweden you mentioned had African slaves, unlike the US who kept the Africans and make them citizens, Sweden send theirs back. Black American today enjoy equality under the law. Unlike other country you mentioned they were allowed to stay and work towards equality. Today Africans are more successful in the United States than any part of the world. Again, Japan attack pearl harbor in WW2 because they want to expand their empire, they sided with Hitler for world dominance. Till they were invaded by the Americans Japan was an empire that never lost a war, and they were so powerful. |
| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by GalaticHorde: 7:01am On Jun 18, 2021 |
benalvino2:No my standards of greatness of a nation aren't dependent on black or white, that is your interpretation because you chose to frame it that way, my standards are dependent on how a nation caters to its citizens, all its citizens in the provision of the basic necessities of life like education, health, security And social security. And Japan conquered China and the Koreas as during WWII, the descendants of those nationals who made it to Japan during the war are Japanese citizens today and are treated as such by the Japanese government with equal opportunities as descendants of ethnic Japanese ancestry, there may be individual discrimination but not systemic government sanctioned discrimination so yes parallels can be drawn with the U.S that aren't about black or white but about ethnicity and the discrimination in the U.S will still make them fall short of the actual great nations of the world. And I am saying if they go to the Japan you mentioned here they will be seen as outlaws. You don't know how cultural protective Japan is.If they go to Japan they'd be seen as Gaijin or outsiders whether white or black the treatment is close to same. They'd be discriminated against low key by individuals on the basis of XYZ is a foreign national and not Japanese but this discrimination won't be state sponsored or sanctioned, but the moment any of them becomes a Japanese citizen they are given the same rights and opportunities as traditional ethnic Japanese citizens and that is the entire point. No one is saying interpersonal discrimination would stop but institutionalised discrimination won't be a barrier to their socio-economic upward mobility in life. Naomi Osaka is a good example, correct me if I'm wrong, she complains about discrimination against her being half black in Japan until she became successful, were her complaints against the state or against individuals? Bear in mind that CRT especially deals with institutionalised racism. Sweden you mentioned had African slaves, unlike the US who kept the Africans and make them citizens, Sweden send theirs back.I don't know about this but irrespective of that the black people in Sweden today who are citizens are treated as such, ''Citizens'' and that you can't refute. And America kept former slaves? What do you think Liberia is? America tried to send former slaves back but were too addicted to cheap slave labour their economy was built upon.Black American today enjoy equality under the law. Unlike other country you mentioned they were allowed to stay and work towards equality. That is a lie and that is one of the things CRT aims to address! Black Americans definitely don't enjoy equality under the law in practice just only in theory. And black Americans were not allowed to stay, the choice of them staying or leaving wasn't the government's to make as as soon as they became nominal citizens that choice was theirs while the state governments especially in the south were incarcerating blacks at alarming rates and farming them out to plantations on lease using cooked up laws like vagrancy and loitering and that culture is what had filtered down to today where southern legislators feel no shame or trepidation in legislating against the rights of blacks to vote or redistricting them out of effective voting districts. You really need to study CRT Today Africans are more successful in the United States than any part of the world. That is debatable, if you ask me I will put Canada ahead but as the population of blacks in Canada is comparatively negligible I will spare you any debate on that except you insist. Again, Japan attack pearl harbor in WW2 because they want to expand their empire, they sided with Hitler for world dominance. Till they were invaded by the Americans Japan was an empire that never lost a war, and they were so powerful.little of this is in doubt and it has little to do with the greatness of Japan as a nation, and Japan was never an empire, they had imperial and colonial ambitions in the early 20th century but it doesn't make them an actual empire. And Japan wasn't colonised because they were a group of islands, the Mongol attempts to colonise Japan was defeated by the sea and not actually by Japanese forces. If the Mongols had successfully beached they would have mauled Japan bloody. Unlike America tooting it's horns as a great nation, Japan is actually a great nation as it caters to its citizens health, security, social security, education amongst others, it actually prioritizes that as against having a bloated military like the U.S! And has the U.S serving its military needs in part pandering to the U.S's ego while American citizens pay the price and Japanese citizens reap the benefits seeing as an actual great nation prioritizes its citizens ahead of its ego and bragging rights |

DissTroy:I read both articles and CNN weren't criticizing trump or praising Biden on the sole basis of interaction alone, they went out to emphasise policy issues as the basis of their criticism or praise, policy issues you are conveniently choosing to ignore so there is no hypocrisy here only just your adamance in framing this to create a talking point that doesn't exist. |
