Why can't dey do their thing in the North there, feed and nurture them there, then transport the ones ready for slaughter down south. Must dey litter the south with their bad body odour
That would have been the solution if they have good intentions.
But No
They must Trek from Maiduguri to Abakiliki

So if Southerners want to go into herding of cattle what happens to them? Hate can never substitute logics.

Please I appeal to my southern brothers let's give peace a chance. This is a good development. Cattle rearing will now be run like any other business. Nothing stops a southerner setting up a ranch in partnership with northerners for mutual profit. As long as open grazing is stopped I am content. Let's find ways to move forward together.

Nigeria is still talking about cow grazing, when we have serious issues on insecurity to deal with.

How can we dealt with the insecurity majorly caused by farmers and herders, low brains?

Yes, it is an opportunity with a big threat.

After 100 or 200 years, your children will curse this day. By then, the fulanis will have sacked their traditional stool and establish their caliphate.

The Hausa traditional stools and Ilorin come to mind.

If there is no ulterior motive, why a grazing reserve instead of ranching as it is practiced in other civilized clime?

Lol, you're even saying 100 or 200 years? Are you kidding me?! It seems like you Yorubas don't even understand the enormity of the calamity that is about to befall your region should these two traitors succeed in handing over your ancestral lands to the Fulanis. During the crises about Wakili and killer herdsmen in Oyo, the Fulanis were already claiming that they have no other place to call home except your lands! That they have lost trace of their origin in the North, thus have no where else to go shocked shocked
These are people that were allowed temporary shelter now claiming indigenous people in disguise!

I can assure you that if any SW state allows this, then your region is forever conquered just like how the Hausas lost out in the North!

To worsen matters, you have huge Muslim population that will make it easy for them to infiltrate, adapt and take over your region.

You're saying 200 years? Lol, I bet you if government should gazette your lands to fulani herdsmen, it will take them less than 20 years to take full control of it. Non of you original indigenes would be allow to come inside and do anything again except they allow you and any day you question their authority, the sort of violence they will unleash will be so dire that you won't even contemplate it again.

I don't know why some of these Southern governors would just decide to sell their people into slavery forever. However, the SE governors may be stooges and errand boys, but they know their boundary. If one can lose his or her life in Igboland by trying to trespass on another person's land, is it taking community lands that will be acceptable? Again, we now have a sort of armed militia operating in our rural communities that are not answerable to our governors and coupled with the fact that we have less than 1% Muslims, then the fulani herdsmen won't be able to adapt, infiltrate or take over our lands.

Good write up.

I noticed fulanis are more in ogun, Oyo state and they see there as home.
During my NYSC days in kaduna camp, the fulanis were more closer to me than other tribes- they even feed me steady almost every night, advised me and up till now am still in contact with some.

Our people can tap from the technology this ranching will bring.

Its a welcome development.
Soon enough when others see that we are benefitting massively from this, they will say we and the northerners have shared Nigeria between us instead of joining the trail.

They take taxes, where have you seen the herdsmen pay tax?

More clowns... If you set up a proper reserve, and you back it by law. They will levies (not tax) for maintenance and as an income to the management of the facility.

Were you expecting people moving about to pay taxes before?
But all that will change when you have them in a particular location. The levies can be a minute percentage of sales of the cattles. And it will be paid not just by the sellers, but also those that have come to the facilities to buy cattles...

In a place like Anambra State, there are cattle ranches owned by individuals.
No one complains because it is purely owned by ordinary people without the FG having hand in it.

Now for Ogun and Oyo state to go into agreement with the federal government for a grazing reserve, it seems they have betrayed all the southern states that have rejected all forms of guises put up by the government to set up a Fulani colony in the south.

Which 19 Northern States❓❗️❔☹️

For 6 years, all this govt has been

take chop grass.

You wouldn't have been wrong looking at it normally. But you are assuming that we are dealing with rational people. People who have no ulterior agenda of their own.

At face value, the initiative looks harmless and business oriented. However except you just intentionally want to lie to yourself, you should know that this whole thing is a ploy to legally plant fulanis in those lands.

It might look like business today but think about what the situation will be 20 to 30 years from now when they have gained ground, brought in their brothers from Mali and Senegal etc to occupy those lands.Think about the changes that would happen along the line when it will become impossible to resist and back off. Because once you start, bear in mind that there wouldn't be a peaceful exist.

The best thing would have been for the cattle owners to individually buy or rent lands from host communities and ranch their cows. But they don't want that cos it doesn't align with their long term agenda. One cow cost hundreds of thousands of naira so we are not talking of one naira business here. Anyway people who wants to risk their communities and states can go ahead sha.

One thing I like about fulanis is that they have a long term outlook and plan for things. They are not short term thinkers. They are long term strategists. Conquering the hausas which is one of the largest tribes in Africa is not something that was done overnight. Think about it.
