Grow vegetables, roots and spices around the house in your backyard or use empty pots and pans. That way you'll save as much as possible.

Also buy in bulk. The person buying a cup of rice daily pays much much more than the person buying a bag (the rich grows richer and the poor goes poorer)

Lastly, buy immediately after harvest. Once they are dry enough (for grains) buy a couple of bags. Take trips to the country side to buy cheaper and plenty

Learn how to store each item and reduce wastage

You dont need more farmers but mechanized farming. 10 mechanized farmers can feed a whole country.
Is there any country where 10 mechanized farmers are feeding them?

Don't mind them. Instead of going out there to work, they are busy complaining online everyday.
Lazybones everywhere!
GeneralPula:
God does not do evil..

But definitely he won’t come down to do farming for us..

There’s no way food won’t get scarce in a society that appreciate their kids to become doctors lawyers compare to farmers..

More farmers, less scarcity of foods..
Less farmers, more scarcity of foods..

Nigeria used to have enough of foods when we have so many farmers in circulations..

Which fact?
They sat in their office armchairs and came up with magic figures.
Food is always expensive at this time of the year because we are just getting into planting season ( start of the rains).
Very soon tomatoes, pepper, yam, potatoes will full everywhere.

Meanwhile, many southerners always insulting northerners online cannot even plan an ear of corn.
I wish northerners would stop bringing food to the south for just 1 month. Let's see whether SW, SE and SS will not be humble after.
Nansense!

Believe them at your own peril. Don't go and farm and keep believing crap statistics.
Akposy:
This is pure fact!

According to United Nations FAO, about 12.8 million Nigerians will be food insecured between August to September this year. This is due to Bandits attack, Covid19 impacts and climate change

What statistical data do you have for this OP...or it is just another arm chair mumbo jumbo undecided
He doesn't need any data from NBS for this, isn't it glaring enough? How many people can go to the farm comfortably in the middle belt where most of our food comes from? How many people still farm grains in the North where BH and other terrorists run amok? Dude if you are not scared for Nigeria, i am.

Oga, I do my garden at home. I once had a small farm (on rent)

You're not in light of agriculture in Nigeria. Firstly, there are many, many farmers in the South. I have over 100 customers (and the many I'm not aware of) growing vegetables (tomato, watermelon, cucumber, pepper et Al) in the south.
According to FAO, about 12.8 million Nigerians will be faced with food insecurity between August and September this year.

The problem is the government take most of the juicy agricultural aid to the North. Many southern farmers are helping themselves by themselves. Lemme stop here

Yes, there are farmers who owns farm land that are as big as Niger State in developed countries.

Governments helps by subsidize and provide zero interest loans to their farmers.

They produced enough for their entire population and still export foods. That is why foods, meats, poultry, clothes, and other basic necessities of life are the cheapest commodities over there.
