For four years? And she is 21 now. What is the age of consent in nigeria? She could be an abused and traumatised young woman and the victim could possibly have some paedophilia tendencies.

After reading that your comment, I am trying to imagine the type of father you are, or would be:

a sentimental, permissive, irresponsible father who would allow her daughter do anything, and would support and defend all evil done by her daughter in the name of her being 'a naive young girl'.

That girl you call 'naive young girl' is far more exposed to the dark side than you would ever be. Even though the man himself was irresponsible and psychologically sick, the girl is far from being innocent. She is a devil incarnate, a professional killer born to kill and a criminal.

Unilag must be commended for refusing to be politically correct because Chidinma is innocent until proven guilty.

[s]She's the victim here.
A naive young girl, tricked, bullied, drugged and sexually exploited by a man old enough to be her father.

Considering she was under the influence of drugs when the murder took place, it becomes a case of involuntary manslaughter bordering on self-defense amidst a moment of temporary insanity.[/s]

UNILAG won't denie her if she had won laurels outside the school vicinity, they won't wait for police report before honouring her....but the girl is in deep shit especially killing a wealthy family man except the family is not interested in the case, the state can even prosecute her.

Oga learn how to read. Unilag did not deny her.

I am not a lawyer but I have my own fair share of knowing what interpretation of law entails.... Call me a sophist or whatever. Nobody is saying there will be an abracadabra on this case but saying that lady is be hanged or get a hard sentence is simply out of it. And the bench interpret the law base on the best narrative the suits the case. If the lady plead the case as a self defense, it's her word against the dead man and it's left for her lawyer to continue pulling the self defense string.
If you can't take my word for it, then you should Google it. The facts of the case are against her. The bench does not interpret the law based on the “best narrative that suits the case” . They are rules for interpretation including the golden rule and the literal rule. It definitely isn't “her word against the dead man”, self defence doesn't work that way. This is a bad case. Her subsequent actions implicate her further and are strong grounds for having the required mens rea for murder. If her sentence is reduced to manslaughter, she would be really lucky.

1.The accused was also wounded check the first picture released by the police. And the accused was equally drugged just like the deseased. Nobody goes to the hospital to treat a punch wound.

2. Doing that might have complicate her cos along the line a urine test will be conducted and an autopsy of the deseased will also show drug traces. Our client knowing this decided not to report to the police but let them discover the body themselves. Our client was never criminal minded my lord, she was about to turn herself in and that is the reason she never left lagos.

3. There was only 1 place with traces of blood. This shows that the deseased was killed by at the same spot.

4. Was there any place in the deseased body that suggest a
toture wound. Perhaps a rope to bind him or a cloth to gaude his mouth?.

Let's just leave this the way it is sir.... I have great respect for dead people.

1.For not reporting to the police, owners of the apartment or neighbours, her self defence case is dead on arrival. She used part of the drug to get high to dull her senses from the heinous crime she committed. Boxers get hospitalised for concussion and trauma.

2. Nobody gets a urine test for reporting a case of domestic violence and it doesn't take 72hrs from where the crime happened to locate a police officer to incident the case.

3.Yes,the deceased was tortured, stabbed and killed in the spot he was found, and it doesn't invalidate the fact that the girl drugged him, killed him, stole his ATM card and robbed him .

4. People are tortured by being stabbed repeatedly, you don't need to blindfold or cuff someone before you torture them. The girl had him drugged, tortured, killed and robbed him.

The prostitute is already dead cos nothing will save her from death sentence after torturous years of litigation.

Naturally the school will deny her soon... They just need the police to conclude their investigation. Once she plead guilty at court they will disown her.

Such a shame.... A cheap shame for that matter. Sincerely she is a lucky bitch.... Self defense will be used at the court.... She'll get a minimum sentence. Come out and continue her life.

I'm saying this base on the picture of the dead body released. Multitude stab wounds even on the leg of the corpse might go well for self defense after all the deseased was an amateur boxer that posed as a threat to her.

Using the fact that she was also acting on drugs will reduce her sentence. Her lawyer might plead for a lunatic immunity.

Such a waste

Not as straightforward as you make it look. Her actions after the crime may make that self defense claim very shaky. Taking his ATM card to withdraw money from his account and going into hiding.

Student stabs a man to death, University says shes still our daughter though we condemn her actions. Is this what human life is worth now? So little value, as if she stole an iPhone. Ah i wonder what human life will be worth in the next 20years
The University is going about it the right way. They are even leading the Police on, give us an official document then we will do the needful. Or u expect UNILAG to say based on reports in the media, we suspend our student. In all we do, lets follow due process

The young lady is still innocent untill a competent court says otherwise ....I wonder why this schools can't recruit a good spoke person ...they don't need to respond on this matter untill she is convicted of this crime . I have been hearing rumours that she acted in self fence....but her lawyers 've to prove beyond reasonable doubt. Self defence without a single scratch on her.. u can’t stab someone twice with that person retaliating even if he/she is dying, then second she will need a very good lawyer and plenty of money.. cos it’s she against a billionaire family.. she be fine
