BREAKING: Rubber Stamp Lawan Senate passed the controversial Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) amid chaos & uproar.

He slashed my Host Communities Fund to 3%, against the 5% recommended by the Committee. At 3%, my Host Communities gets $502.8 million annually. It doesn’t end there.

While the Trust Fund for the development of my communities was reduced to 3%, Lawan allocated a whooping 30% revenues from my Oil to “Frontier States.”

The Bill did not define these “Frontier States,” but you & I know most frontier states are in Northern Nigeria, where the NNPC has spent billions of dollars of revenues from my Oil, looking for new reserves in the North.

So the Senate approved a funding mechanism of 30% of NNPC’s profit from oil & gas sales for these frontier basins.

Now it gets messy at consideration of “Clause 240” which talks about funding for my “Host Communities.”

A Katsina senator, Babba Kaita, proposed that the funding for my Host Communities be reduced from 5% as proposed by the committee to 3%.
This generated an uproar at consideration. Then, Rubber Stamp Lawan did the next amazing thing.

He put it to a voice vote, & when the nays had it? he shutdown the opposing nays who were against the inequitable proposal from the Katsina Senator, & ruled in favour of the ayes.

It gets interesting when all appeals from my South South Senators for rubber stamp Lawan to put the motion to a “second vote,” Lawan did what he’s always know for, he shut them all down. The trio; James Manager (Rivers), Albert Bassey (Akwa Ibom), & Geroge Sekibo (Rivers), were shutdown by Lawan. Point of Order raised by Sekibo was ruled out of order by Lawan.

Even his Deputy Ovie Omo-Agege’s appeal for the 3% to be increased slightly, was ignored by Lawan.
Timipre Sylva (our Bayelsa son), who coincidentally is the Junior Minister of Petroluem, did nothing for my Host Communities.

He let the Minister of Petroleum Muhammadu Buhari & Ahmed Lawan get away with 30% for their Frontier States, leaving me with 3%. ONE NIGERIA INDEED!!
Frontier states are those states in the northern fringes, more precisely around the Lake Chad Basin & Upper Benue trough, where the NNPC is actively looking for more reserves.
