Nigeria is hell on earth.
We have very very useless leaders.
Nigeria is a cursed country.

Countries where things are working well, their leaders are human being as well.
Here our prime minister is a young girl above thirty.
You will see wonderful project started, done, and completed.
If you go there to do sightseeing, you will cry.

Why are we not getting things right in nigeria?

Kudos to you

Infact you said it all

Nothing more to be added or removed

Abroad ain't like people believed it to be

Many in naija ste living and doing better than alot in abroad or whereever oversea they may pretend to be
Talking as an experienced person that lived and worked there

Na our leaders spoil naija kpatapata

Naija is best enjoyed when you have your money and be living life codedly

Well, I have no stories to share.

But I'll say lack of information is what pushed many into the suffering they are passing through overseas.

Some are tricked my pictures they find online.

Some are tricked by a common lie that things are so easy abroad and you would be handed a dream job on your arrival.

Some think accommodation is easy to get and you would have made enough salary to pay house rent.
But they don't even realize that in some places rent is monthly and you pay light and water bills.
Nothing is free over unlike in Nigeria where you can get water for free

Many people even believe that in the overseas, graduating from a university means automatic jobs

Many people even believe that in the overseas, university admission is sure

It is this same lack of information that makes people insult everything about Nigeria. This is what Hollywood movies have done to them

Why is it that northerners don't move abroad?

Most of them go for government jobs and stay there to get to the top or join politics. A lot of them are not educated but I have seen some of them abroad as lecturers.

The problems most Nigerians face over there is because they didn't do background check on what they're going over there to do.

It is true, most Northerners don't move abroad or don't stay abroad for long, after their studies they come back home.

One i know studied in turkey, after his studies he came back home to work like every other person.

The other i know, went to the uk to study, after his studies, he came back home to start a poultry farm.

You didnot mention those who return to NNPC, NPA, CBN, FG jobs without interview or application.. Before you shout ipob I am from the North too.

1st story

I met a waiter at rhapsody in ikeja shopping mall, who regretted leaving Nigeria for dubai, i asked him why? He said he left his stable job to Dubai, got to dubai and was earning 70k, was also living in a shared accommodation with 4 people, after working for 5 months, he resigned and left Dubai for Nigeria.

2nd story

My cousin left his well paid job for Canada, sold his properties in naija and moved to Canada with his family, first 8 month of his life was hell upon earth, from bills to bills, from one low wage job to another, the neighborhood he was living with his family was infested with gangs, the public school was also infected with gangs, his children got bullied because of their accents, his wife, even though supportive couldn't get a good job, bros was tired of everything.

So he decided to solve his problem by moving back, after the scrap they could save in Canada, my guy and his family moved back to Nigeria, they had to start afresh, thank God, he had a supportive family and friends, they use their connections to help him find another good job but what is lost is lost till today he still regrets selling his properties for Canada.

Abroad isn't for everyone. your glory may be in Nigeria, don't join everyone to go suffer in abroad.

I sometimes regret moving abroad. God has been faithful to me and my family. Since we moved, I have not worked any menial job and own my own house and relatively comfortable but something about Nigeria keeps ringing in my head. May be it's where I come from (In the North), my people are generally not keen on living abroad indefinitely. I haven't moved back because I am yet to find something comparable to what I left before moving but I will start working on it in the coming months.

Life is easy in the North.
No unnecessary showing off, nobody trying to pepper neighbors and stuff.
People are nice to each other, they live like humans, not the dog eat dog scenario we have in the south

This is not true. Only the children of the elite(north &south) enjoy such privilege. Those of the poor (and a lot of them get scholarships), tend to return.

Is Usa the only country abroad ignoramus.
Regarding USA, every body in whole world know who
Eric garner ,George floyd and countless blacks killed by police ,it's reported in newspapers.
What about zoo ,do you know the names of people killed by SARS in last 10 years or people killed by customs in Ogun or people killed by army in Imo.

When you talk ,talk sensibly ,don't show your stupidity to the whole world
u call Nigeria a zoo n your parents are still living here,it's obvious your parents are animals n they gave birth to a pig like u.

Abroad is sweet but comes with a price. If you want to hammer you must be I repeat you must be in the medical field or ICT field. If you are not in these fields, any job you are doing is slavery. You are actually working for the system. If you are sending money back home, you can buy land but it would take sometime to build. Your counterparts in Nigeria would hustle, build house, marry with kids, buy cars just with one breakthrough while you are slaving away and collecting hatred aka racism on top. That's why our guys bulk under pressure and start doing BEC scam.

Good to see how you fill your head with rubbish. How many Canadian have $1,000 as we speak. Continue writing rubbish the world is wiser now. People in Nigeria knows abroad is one big fat lie.... an illusion
Shokoloko:
Something is fundamentally wrong in this story.
If neighborhood is infested with gangs, move
If public school is infested with gangs (I have never heard this) change school.
I find it hard to believe that between the man and wife they could not find call center jobs or sales associate jobs that would have taken care of rent and bills. The 600 paid to their child would have sorted out feeding

Lets assume a very terrible situation. Oga is working in poorly-paying stingy call center or as a sales associate earning $2000 after tax
Madam is working in the bakery part-time at Loblaws earning $16 per hour. Lets say she works for 4 hours so she can stay with the children. in a month she will earn $1700 after tax. Combined income in $3700. Plus monthly payment to child $4300

Rent for 2 bedroom $1600
Phone bills for two $70
internet $50
Food $600
Electricity $100
Landlord pays water, garbage and gas bills
Monthly bus pass for two $250
New clothes $100
Netflix $14.99

SAVINGS MONTHLY $1515.01

This is in the worst situation. The only thing I can think of that could have happened here is the man rented a luxury apartment. I know because I also made this mistake - I rented in Rockcliffe village when I first arrived undecided cry
