All the people I'm affiliated with that moved abroad are all doing great, and 100 percent of them are from the south. I think southerners are more go getters than the MB or north especially those from the west and Eastern part of the country.

A friend of mine that left the country 3 years ago is now building a duplex in warri. Hie brother is married to an Irish and a citizen so he helped him secure a job. His salary right now due to exchange rate is almost 1.5 million a month.
in that salary his bill including rent for the month is 1.2 million. Yes he is building duplex but when he is going to live in it. Abroad people still need Nigeria to survive.

The job I do abroad. Is far better than any job I ever did in Nigeria.

To make matters even better the pay and work load is better.

The job I do abroad is almost equivalent to me doing nothing and getting paid.

My only regret of moving to Canada is why I waited too long to move. Comparing Canada to Nigeria under any condition is like comparing CNN to NTA...quite ridiculous.

Mind you eventually i and my family including my kids will be Canadians but we're still Nigerians meaning in the future we can stay anywhere depending on where the good life is which is obviously Canada for now
well some people actually want to be multi millionaires, controlling businesses. Canada would not give you that. However, if you want a middle class life then it will.

Why is it that northerners don't move abroad?
Northerners are conservative and they prefer to live in the Northern cities like Kano, Kaduna or Abuja than anywhere else, especially if they are financially well off. Ahmed Musa for example is still good enough to play for a number European clubs or at worst some middle Eastern club but he opted for Kano Pillars.
They love their way of life.

Got a shiity job in naija

So I moved out

Resumed to a menial IT support job with a wonderful pay...

It was enough to cover Bills but not much to save...so I run freelancer as an IT specialist

Increased income...

you see you are actually slaving for the system but if you had waited a little while you can even be working as a consultant.

Good Morning Guys!

Truth be told. There is No where like home. There will always be more freedom at home. However the main ingredients to being human are not readily available in Nigeria.

No light, security, affordable housing health care, you name it. Even basic opportunity.

I left Nigeria after my you service many years Ago. I lived in Europe, and North America. Withness great difference in quality of life

Every one has a reason for leaving. I will never judge. However I feel if you think you are highly gifted in business, music or other hussle. Nigeria is the place.

But professional minded guys can try there luck outside. I was very unhappy in North America. My family thought I was mad for return. It took me about 5 to 6 years of destitution to rebound and being financially okay. I'm doing very fine now. I'm really really greatfull to God that I did return even after trying to.

I can afford to take my family on a trip abroad once a year and I employ over 20 people that work for me. Maybe I'm wrong. But I don't think I could have done it like that abroad.

The 20 richest Nigerians are based in Nigeria.
The 20 biggest artist are based here.
Even the doctors are working for people over there. While the rich doctors in Nigeria work for themselves.

My only and major issue honestly is insecurity.

God will make each and everyone find his calling and prosperous.

But remember, MORE PROBLEMS MEANS MORE OPPORTUNITIES!

Stay Focused, Stay Blessed!

The only northern friend I have here is a doctor. The rest immediately go home after studies because they have a well paid job back home and the prospects are better for an average northerner back home. In any case virtually all of them come to U.K. on government scholarship. Most southerners come to U.K. on their own. Most northers do not do any part time job while in school because they are well taken care of financially.

1st story

I met a waiter at rhapsody in ikeja shopping mall, who regretted leaving Nigeria for dubai, i asked him why? He said he left his stable job to Dubai, got to dubai and was earning 70k, was also living in a shared accommodation with 4 people, after working for 5 months, he resigned and left Dubai for Nigeria.

2nd story

My cousin left his well paid job for Canada, sold his properties in naija and moved to Canada with his family, first 8 month of his life was hell upon earth, from bills to bills, from one low wage job to another, the neighborhood he was living with his family was infested with gangs, the public school was also infected with gangs, his children got bullied because of their accents, his wife, even though supportive couldn't get a good job, bros was tired of everything.

So he decided to solve his problem by moving back, after the scrap they could save in Canada, my guy and his family moved back to Nigeria, they had to start afresh, thank God, he had a supportive family and friends, they use their connections to help him find another good job but what is lost is lost till today he still regrets selling his properties for Canada.

Omo, you just dey throw lies upandan.

Why didn’t his supportive family use their connections for him before he traveled to Canada?

By the way, the surest route to migration has always been via school/ education.

The terrible lies you’re padding here to support your opinion are from people who travelled illegally.

I sometimes regret moving abroad. God has been faithful to me and my family. Since we moved, I have not worked any menial job and own my own house and relatively comfortable but something about Nigeria keeps ringing in my head. May be it's where I come from (In the North), my people are generally not keen on living abroad indefinitely. I haven't moved back because I am yet to find something comparable to what I left before moving but I will start working on it in the coming months.
Carry me along na bro,

Most of the people commenting here are delusional. You have no first hand experience but will quickly jump at answers and conclusion.

The best set of people to migrate are single folks less than 30. The important part is that you need to be smart. Have the right skills and experience and be very much driven. In 2-3 years if you get into the right countries with proper work authorization, the sky is the limit.

I know of the UK and Canada and I have more than 10 family and friends that have been able to multiply their income by more than 10 times since they left Nigeria. All in less than 5 years.

Minimum wage in Calgary is $15/hr for god sake.
in that 15 dollars, 11 dollars is for rent and bills.

What I mean abroad cannot do without Naija because they are working for both the system in abroad and their families in Naija. So at the end of the day, when you retire you might not have anything to show for it in abroad. The best way is to have a business in abroad. You pay low tax and get a lot of support
