HELP PLEASE: JAMB Correction Of Data by Prettygirlmaeve(f): 11:18pm On Jul 02, 2021
I registered for UTME this year and while I was registering, I wasn't allowed to select or change my State of Origin/LGA.

I was told that it was from JAMB and besides, the State/LGA that was there is where I was born. So, I think it's probably from my NIN.

The attendant at the CBT centre said I shouldn't worry that it would change before I print my exam slip and that I wasn't the only one.

I printed the exam slip and I still saw the wrong State and LGA on it.
I went back and they said I'd have to do Correction of Data after the exam.

I have checked how the Correction of Data is done online and I really don't understand it.

The Indemnity form thing and how I'd have to submit it to my Institution and then the Institution will send it to JAMB before it can be approved and change.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE I need someone to answer my questions because I have a lot.

When and how will I submit it to my Institution?
Is it when I've been offered admission?
Or when I'm doing clearance?
Won't the wrong State/LGA be on my Result Slip?
Will it affect my admission if it's not submitted or in any way?

If you have any idea about this or how it's done, please help me and answer my questions.

Thank you.

I don't think you should work yourself up about this issue(my opinion tho) because it won't in anyway affect you during or after your course of studying in the university.
Infact some people deliberately change their state to ELDS when seeking for admission in order to boost their chances of being admitted and it works most of the time.
I personally know like two guys in my department back then in school they were from south-east but they changed their state to one state in south-south due to their low aggregate scores and like magic they were given admission

correction of data has started. My friend has done hers

Go to any jamb cbt centre. It's 3,800 naira
Re: HELP PLEASE: JAMB Correction Of Data by Commmy: 7:27pm On Jul 03, 2021
If I may advice though, you should change it both at jamb cbt centre and at NIMC centre.

Reason is that your details were gotten from your NIN and if you change only the one at jamb it might affect you. You have to change both to be on a safer side

If this JAMB really affects you and you don't want to sit down at home for another year, the best OPTION for you is to ENROLL for IJMB, JAMB RESULTS is already OUT and APPLICATION FORM may close any moment from now. Grab this opportunity and Enroll for a 200L UNIVERSITY PROGRAM without writing JAMB. Our Centre is in Ilorin. Dm or call 07081091275 for more enquires.

@shawante

Yes, I've considered this.
My dad even suggested it.

But you know it's Lagos State, they're extra or something, I don't know.
Besides I have my Certificate of Origin from Ondo State already.
It just feels very risky.

And I read on Lasu's websites that indigenes of Lagos State have to provide their IIVC number.
That's another thing I'll have to do after that.

I think my birth certificate says something else.

It's just too much for too little.

@Organicist95

Are you sure?
Because I've contacted Jamb Support.
I was told that Correction of data hasn't started.

I'm waiting for that.

Thank you so much smiley

I got the same response from Jamb too, that I should check the information in NIMC database.

I can go to the centre where I enrolled.
I don't really know if they're allowed to change it or even let me look at my information.

Can I go to any Enrollment Centre?

What is life without a little risk grin.. But I've seen things from your point of view and I think things might get complicated later considering the iivc and birth certificate issue. But not to worry.. I'll check for a nice school within your catchment area and give u feedback soon

Get advice from the place you registered, they should know exactly what to do! Also, use Ijmb or Jupeb to secure university admission. No Jamb needed. Start today on www.ijmbdivinehelp.com

You can do the correction at any centre. Not necessarily the centre you registered

@Commmy

Hi,

I went to an Enrollment Centre today and I was told that it's not possible to change/update States and LGAs of Origin—even though NIMC says otherwise.

Turns out the field of state and LGA is blank for me.
I don't know why or how it happened, probably from when I registered.

Should I go somewhere else?
I don't know what to do now.

It happened to me also. I was given a wrong LGA, despite all my details on my NIN being correct.

Did you supply your lga/state of origin when you registered for NIN?

Let me ask someone of it's possible

I also had this same state/lga issue and i don't know where to start from and all my documents are pointing to Nasarawa state which is my state of origin and not lagos state which is my place of birth which jamb used as my state of origin and while reg for bvn my state of origin tallied with what was on my nin so i don't know why that of jamb is reading otherwise
Pls i need help bc I'd soon start screening
I tried data correction as at around July last year but till now nothing
So i don't know if i should attempt another data correction again to see if it'd change
