Hello all, I have a 1989 Nissan Bluebird in my village, and I have been thinking of building my own dream “classic” car.
So it’s a 1989 4cyl Manual tranny car.
I will be installing android navigator and a whole lot of other stuff. My main concern is with the engine upgrades and adaptability considering the car is a manual gear, I want to know if the IS350 engine can be adapted to it successfully. Thanks

Why different engine from gear?

Put the IS engine and auto gear together.. (if it is workable)

The gear lever area Can be remodelled by a good upholstery craftsman

I really love the idea of a manual car, and also wanna maintain some classic features of the car, but definitely I want more power. Will be ordering classic 17” rims from AliExpress since it’s 4 bolts.

the 2008 Lexus is250 engine will come with a ECU and numerous sensors,and that Nissan bluebird is Definitely a carburetor engine,how on hell are you going to connect the electrical system,or less you are buying the engine/gear and complete wire harness,

it may be a struggle to get a v6 that will fit into the engine bay of that bluebird,but I have seen a Maxima v6 engine with carburetor, that is what you need if u can fit it into the engine bay

Thanks. That’s why I actually opened the thread. what alternative Japanese engine that’s more recent and powerful do you suggest please?

It is is not about manual or auto. It is about what will make the car drive well with peace of mind. Mating an auto engine with manual transmission is recipe for disaster if not properly done well

If you really want manual, find a camry big daddy or muscle with manual gear and see if the engine will fit into it.

OP do it, my Peugeot 1964 model has a 2016 Lexus RX350 V6 engine in it, and it's moving smooth, no problems at all, turbo charged and all, for real.

I’m not a mechanic so definitely I’m outsourcing it. If I feel the project will be waste of money later, then I’ll just stick to restoring car. Premium paint job, leather stitching, new custom rims and other cosmetics.

That contraption will split apart at all its joints if half the power of the engine configuration powers it for a few minutes

RB26DETT, RB-X GT2, 1JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GTE, Chevy's LS-1 engines are way better and easier to install in any car than this 2GR-FSE.

he is obviously pulling your legs how can u put a Lexus RX engine in a Peugeot 404,the cost of the engine and gear alone will buy 3-4 Peugeot 404

if you are residing in the southeast take your time and go to mgbuka obosi in onitsha,I have seen many compact v6 engines there that will fit into that engine bay,a Maxima v6, Volkswagen golf v6,but the sure bet v6 engine that will work is Suzuki every korope v6,but I don't know if they are transverse or back wheel drive,but why worry yourself with such project with a no heritage car like a bluebird,what will fit this type of project is a classic Peugeot 504 or 505 evolution,with the bigger engine bay you can fit a straight 6 engine from a Nissan Laurel and have all the power you want,a pimped 505 evolution will turn heads but the bluebird will not.

I know u are passionate....but I don't think this is a good idea
