nigeria can never do any for you free

What has Nigeria done for you

We can see and feel what is going on today in Nigeria, no food, high prices, killings everywhere and the country is on autopilot by a president that is unserious, growing up in Nigeria all we used to hear was E GO BETTER which means things would get better and 60yrs after independence Nigeria is the same shit hole in president trumps words

And I was thinking what has this country called Nigeria ever done for me and the answer is nada, we all know in some countries people get benefits and assistance from the government but in Nigeria, the politicians are so wicked that even during the covid 19 crisis in Nigeria those wicked people hid palliatives donated by people from other countries, the Nigerian political class is cursed forever they love seeing their people suffer if their people don't suffer they would never be happy.

In Nigeria the government does not do anything for the people, all they do is make life hard for its citizens and impose taxes that would be stolen by the same politicians In power, these people are so greedy and ready to kill to maintain their greed, we pay for our security, we dig our own boreholes for water, we provide our own electricity, we pay for hospital, Nigeria is the biggest nightmare called a country which carries all the problems in Africa.

In sane countries, vaccines are given by age and not by who you know, and these greedy government workers sell vaccines to the highest bidder. I have lived in a country, where the government gives unemployment benefit, free food, housing benefits, and so many other benefits and oh free health care, I can boldly say the geographical expression called Nigeria a forced marriage by the British have done nothing for me since I was born on their soil. what has Nigeria done for you?

All your why-questions point to one thing: man's government has failed.
only Nigerian government has failed and some others that are lacking good virtues. Are there not countries under the heaven that are enjoying their governments, even if not completely? Countries where there is accountability, justice, and other good virtues and such like. Atleast we can not allow animals to come and govern us. We just need reorientation and restructuring.

Let's not forget that the useless govt is paying millions daily for the continuous ban of Twitter. The futility of it all... owing to d fact that people are still using twitter, is really annoying.

Such stvpid, utterly senseless nd vseless pple in govt.

And we get voter's card for free despite the fact that the national ID card supposed to supersede it
Sanchez01:
I saw this thread (https://www.nairaland.com/6641235/how-print-improved-nin-slip) last night and I wondered why the government can't be consistent for once. It is not just about getting Nigerians to link their NIN to their SIMs now but something else. I logged on to the portal (https://myportal.nimc.gov.ng/) this morning and saw some ridiculous things that only the Nigerian government is capable of attempting.

First, I was greeted with the picture below on the portal and I wondered why a National Commission tasked with regulating identity issues give me CREDITS (I have 30, according to my dashboard). Why would I need to purchase a SUBSCRIPTION from a government's portal; not just anyone but an IDENTITY COMMISSION PORTAL

As if that wasn't enough, I clicked through the subscription link only to find ridiculous tiers of subscriptions; from N100 to N1,000,000, all promising various degrees of credits. Is the government planning on charging Nigerians based on how their NIN QR codes or details are queried during verifications in banks, airports and in other places, particularly government establishments Why am I given 30 CREDITS if it doesn't matter or mean anything?

Not only that, but I also found out that there is a "PREMIUM NIN SLIP" section other than the "IMPROVED NIN SLIP". Although the "PREMIUM NIN SLIP" is currently unavailable, I am wondering why there is a class-play in the NIN slip.

The IMPROVED NIN costs N400 to download. However, I am somewhat convinced of what will likely play out.

1. The NIMC will discard the current slips and will most likely ask banks and other places where the ID is required to only honour the "IMPROVED NIN" or "PREMIUM NIN".
2. This will compel people to download for N400.
3. Say 50 million Nigerians pay N400 each to download the "IMPROVED NIN", this means the NIMC will be making N20 billion Naira from that alone. The number is a worst-case scenario since I anticipate that it will be mandated

MY QUESTIONS

1. Why is an identity commission bent on making money through the provision of NATIONAL IDs?
2. What is the purpose of the subscriptions its portal?
3. Why do Nigerians need NIMC CREDITS and why do we need to buy?
4. Why is there a PREMIUM NIN SLIP
5. Why do I need to pay N400 for a virtual card I will have to print and laminate on my own
6. Isn't it the duty of the Commission to provide Nigerians with FREE National IDs?
7. Who approved of this useless idea
8. Why do I have DEPENDENTS on my portal; implying I could share my subscriptions with them
9. Are the law-making arms of government aware of this daylight Oyenusi stunt? (Not like they are useful anyways but I am not sure there was any discussion on NIMC creating a money-making portal in the legislature.)
10. What is the endgame of government; to sap Nigerians further through insane anti-people policies as always and further create a class divide through the ID cards we carry around?

I will say it again. The structure of this country and the attitude of our leaders are creating serious challenges for hard working and honest Nigerians. This is a country that frustrates people, push people into crime through different ways, advice them to change, arrest some, give some amnesty, kill some and continues to push others to crime.

Re: New Improved NIN Charges: What Is The Government's Endgame? by Ngasky(m): 1:24pm On Jul 09, 2021
Actually that credit is only for those who want to verify others, eg an employer wants to verify info on his staffs or prospective staff before hiring them.
This will give the employer full details of his new prospective staff and therefore give him rest of mind that so so person can not run away with my funds as he can never change those details and recovery will be easier and faster.
Secondly, security personnel eg at the airport/park will just need to scan your barcode and all information on who you are will be at their disposal. Security wise this is a good development.
The issue of using bogus details to book for hotel will be a thing of the past. As the hotel will just verify your details before giving you room. No running away after committing crime Just like what happen to the tv star few weeks ago.
Generally the level of trust will increase as it will be more difficult to pretend to be someone else apart from real you.
In all these the one to pay is the person who want to investigate not the person being investigated. That is the essence of that credit.
Imagine if i am to be a landlord/caretaker. i will definitely pay that small change to have full info on prospective tenant so that whatever happen i know who and where to go and get that person

It's a social credit scheme just like the ones found in communist China.

OP this is your answer.

They can use it to punish you so you behave properly, against the government, they can also use it to reward you.

Yes They can

You can read here for more details.

I just paid #578.13 in total through remita to pay NIMC so as to download my NIN slip. When I first saw the 400 naira payment for print out enable ment, my heart was as if it was struck by a sword. I can't believe my government will do that to me. Anyway, na 578 I pay finally before them give me access to download.
God save Nigeria.

I think you are yet to understand that aspect of the credit.
The card is supposed to work like a credit card but you have to load it with cash.
The 30 card is like saying the federal government has already credit your card with 3,000 naira because each credit equal 100 naira.

Why would I need a government credit card when I have 2 different credit cards and about 5 debit cards in my wallet? How does that of the government benefit me differently from my credit cards?

Plus note, the language used on the portal is "subscription". This means it is converted to a token which in this form is a "credit". If it indeed works like a credit card, how come the government is asking people to go ahead to print themselves and laminate?

If it was to function like a credit card, the government is under equipped and uninnovative to come up with a global payment systems other than MasterCard and Visa. Jonathan partnered with them during his time until these set of clowns lies their way to power.

I understand the dynamics of credit cards even from a mile. This is not even close.

For verifying someones info. It only works if the other person agrees to show you his barcode and also agree to share his info with you.
If the person is not ready to share his info with you run away from him as there is something he is hiding and you should stay away from him/her as much as possible

Sanchez01:

The FG is stupid. It has no plan for the Nigerian people. If it is struggling to stay run the operations of the country, why not cut cost? Was it not the same Buhari during his desperate days who claimed we had too many Presidential fleets and that they were too expensive to maintain? N7 billion was budgeted under the same Buhari for the fleets in 2020 and more than ever, his family has abused the fleets compared to the other 3 presidents in the 4th Republic.

1. A side of the legislature should go. It is irrelevant.
2. Sell some off some of the Presidential fleets to save cost.
3. Put an end to the giveaways they do in the name of COVID stimulus and relief packages through NISRAL. If they make the economy viable enough, you won't need to give people fish.

But guess what, none of these matters to a man whose only final wish is to live lavish with a country's resources and empower the 4th deadliest terrorist group in the world.

Sanchez01,

I have not gotten an NIN, and will not ever get one willfully, except I am coerced to do so. Because I saw these coming.

Know the following and be prepared. Nigerians, including you, are a commodity. Your data was obtained for the sole purpose of sales and profiteering. Remember, it is not just your biodata that was taken, your face and finger prints are digital copies of your entity, hence the need for an IDentity to be in a Database.
