The senate would not bother to do their own count if the auditor tally matched the official tally.

Ive seen this in African countries. The half white African does not relate very well with black Africans.Actually many feel sort of superior to pure blacks.
When they encounter the whitey, the whites don't think being half white is white enough .Privately races/tribes/wealth denigrate other races/tribes/wealth stereotyping sometimes harmful to derogatory points.
