Congratulations to the new moms in the house

Please I'm soliciting for advice on this sensitive case pls no insult please I have cried enough for been such a careless mother cry

Be strong mama. The good thing is that you still discovered it on time. Any correction they might suggest at the hospital has higher chances of working because of her age. You are not a careless mother. This can happen to the even the most observant mother.

I dont know if this will help. I got this online. Labial adhesions are acquired abnormalities involving the labia minora. Adhesion is the most common interlabial abnormality in child urology patients. The adhesion usually begins at the posterior fourchette and extends to varying degrees superiorly to the clitoris. The abnormality is generally discovered between 13 and 23 months of age by the child's parents or by the physician during a routine well-child examination. Most cases occur before six years of age.

Children with labial adhesions usually have a history of a local inflammatory process, such as diaper rash. Most patients are asymptomatic; however, the adhesions occasionally cause local inflammation, recurrent vulvovaginitis, or recurrent urinary tract infections. Adhesions do not occur in newborns, presumably because of the protective effect of circulating maternal estrogens.

Treatment of adhesions is nonsurgical and includes application of topical estrogen cream. Estrogen cream applied daily to the affected area for one to two weeks has an effectiveness rate between 49 and 90 percent. Occasionally, six to eight weeks of therapy is needed.

Cleaning the affected area and keeping the labia separated with short-term (one to two months) application of a petrolatum-based barrier ointment (e.g., Vaseline) can help prevent recurrence. Simple hygienic measures may be sufficient for asymptomatic children because most adhesions resolve during early puberty. Topical steroids may also be effective, but they have not been prospectively studied. Surgical treatment is reserved for patients with unresponsive cases.

Hello mamas goodmorning to you all
Una do well for me oo thanks to all that responded with prayers, links and extract from articles that explained the condition clearly. You all helped in calming the tension in me and asking constructive questions when they were evaluating her yesterday

So the paed we saw said the vagina closure is as a result of vagina inflammation and that droplets of urine, excessive sweating down there and even certain diapers can cause it. And that the area must have been red like a sore and decided to heal and close up because at her age she doesn't have the hormone(estrogen) that is supposed to keep the place naturally lubricated to avoid gumming together.

So he recommended a topical estrogen cream to help her produce the homone and we are to apply it for 2 weeks and that it will lubricate and release the muscles around the site and open the vjay up.

But the only thing is she may start menstruating earlier than her age mates because she's been exposed to puberty hormones at a very tender age. I feel I have failed my girl as a mother. I've been praying for her and asking God for forgiveness

Our next appointment is in 2 weeks time. He said he will only do a minor surgery on the site only if the estrogen cream didn't have any impact after usage but usually there's very high positive result with the cream

Fingers seriously crossed as I'm prayerfully applying the cream, trusting God Almighty to take charge

From now on I'll be checking their vjay everyweek I feel terrible

Godbless you all for standing in the gap for me kiss

Is it only tombrown he's reacting to?
It's probably an intolerance to one of the components of tombrown.
You can give him rice based cereals and single grain cereals until you discover which is the culprit. Nutribom, frisogold, cerelac etc have single grain cereals

Good evening mamas, please recommend a pediatric hospital in Lagos, we live in ikorodu and I would really love to see a pediatrician, the general hospital in ikorodu wouldn't let you see a pediatrician until the general doctors have done all they can before they call in a specialist..

Well done mama. @Bolded..NO you have not. You're an amazing mom to your daughters, do keep it up

I didn't know this could be a thing.
Although I've had it at the back of my mind that daughters require a little more attention because like adults they are prone to infection. I've been consciously making sure my babygirl is wiped from front to back during diaper changes to ensure there's no transfer of poop to the vagina but sometimes you open the diaper and there's poop all over the vaginal region cry
May God keep helping us to care for these little gifts put in our care.

You were not supposed to put any ice on the site, just a lil wet cloth.
Always try to attend immunizations health talks, this helps a lot.
Go back to the clinic/hospital for immediate response.

Good day mamas. May God almighty protect our LOs.

Please I need help. I noticed my 2 months old baby's hair was cutting when combing it. This morning I saw some kind of oil residues on his scalp. When I washed the hair when bathing him, he lost so much hair and some even pulled.

I initially used coconut oil on his hair then the baby oil when the coconut oil got finished. I'm so worried.

It's cradle cap.
Buy selsun blue shampoo.
Pour a little oil on.the scalp and use a fine tooth comb to comb out the scaly stuff on the scalp. Wash the hair with selsun blue shampoo.
Do this 2ice a week until the cradle cap goes.
