Hello sirs n madams in the house. Few weeks back, I bought a core i5 PC so I could start learning frontend development and acquire more skills as time goes on. But I was having power issues so I managed to get a generator set. I'm firmly on the path to learn the required frontend technologies but I'm worried as I've learned on this forum that it's hard to get a job as a junior developer in Nigeria and that feeling is discouraging because I invested my savings to start this journey. What advice and suggestions do you have for me towards getting a remote job or would you suggest I consider other niches in software development.
Thanks for your advice.

Before you join the gengs that say job is hard to find. Apply to atleast 100 jobs and attend lots of interviews.

Honestly I feel I should sometimes share my story but I am not where I want to be yet. Op I started learning to code February last year. As you see me so, I don't have up to a year of work experience. It took me 2 weeks to get my first job when I started looking and it took around 2 months to get my first remote job. I have been working remotely since last year and I am what you will call a junior.

I also know other juniors who have had no problems finding jobs at all. Learn the frontend well. When I got my first job I knew only frontend, build projects solid projects o not to to do app and calculator. Apply to jobs on job sites. There's always vacancies for programmers everyday. You can use LinkedIn, indeed and hotnigerianjobs to research.

Baba mi! My journey never too make sense like that sha. In fact, it's no where near what Tesan has accomplished.

Maybe towards December/January, I'll write about it.

I've just worked a month as a Software Developer.

Indeed.com have not been satisfactory to me in the sense that most of the remote job are in US or Europe and I hardly see remote jobs that are globally worldwide. The same delima is what I facing with LinkedIn.

I live in the North so getting local jobs for myself may have been easy if I live in Lagos or Abuja or Oyo but I don't live in any of those places and I can't just relocate just like that.

Please you should guide me how to search for remote jobs on Indeed or LinkedIn that everybody from any part of the world can apply.

When you see America or Europe still apply to it. When you get an interview, tell them you can work US timezones.

Some of them openly declare you must have a US citizenship and other documents like that and I have seen it many times. I don't know what to do.

I want to ask did you get your remote job by applying for a job that says US or other Europe country or Canada.

At all first remote job was given to me when I posted my project on Reddit. But I have gotten interviews and job offers by applying. It's just that the pay is lower than what I earn so I didn't take it.
