Let me quickly share this strange dream I had last night before I forget much of the details.
I found myself watching two military parades, not simultaneously but one after the other.

The first was by a platoon of Asian soldiers.
When the Parade Commander shouted "Attaainntchn!", the soldiers lifted their right legs and banged them next to the left in awesome unison.
They stood erect and rock-still as the national anthem played.
But a few seconds into the anthem, I witnessed something strange.
Many eyes were misty, and actual tears were rolling down a few cheeks among the soldiers.
A voice explained to me that their enemies should never mistake these as signs of weakness but of strength; that these were tears of love and devotion to their country.
I was told it was the national anthem that does it to them, that anytime they hear the national anthem, they're overwhelmed by a surge of patriotism, and they're dying to be shown the enemy.
The parade ended with a very loud and long ovation from the audience.

I will take a break and come back to describe the second parade which commenced 5 mins later, by a military unit from the Western Hemisphere introduced by the loudspeakers as the Woke Army.

Get ready to be entertained.

As the second parade was starting, I repeatedly asked the Voice,
"Which nation's Army is this...?"
And repeatedly I got the same reply,
"Just call them the Woke Army, or Army of the Woke West".

Everything went fine, like in the Asian parade, until it was time for the national anthem, then hell, crisis and chaos took over, to the utter consternation, despair and dismay of the spectators on ground, and of millions around the world watching on television.

One set of the soldiers fell on their knees, to protest real or imagined racism.
Another faction executed an 'about-turn' that was never commanded, turning to face where they had backed, and now backing the Parade Commander.

One mad man pulled out his penis right there and started peeing on a tiny national flag he brought out of his pocket, while another brought out a smartphone and stood ready to record any act he might deem 'rayciss'.

That was the Army of the Woke West on parade.

In all this, the Parade Commander, being careful to avoid jeopardizing is military career, waited patiently to allow everybody act out his own ritual of woke extremism.

Only one set of the soldiers remained 'at-attention' the normal way until the anthem finished and the Voice explained to me that this conservative group is now being classified as extremists and targeted accordingly by the powers that be.

"But despite all this, the Woke Army still remains the most powerful on the planet", I remarked vehemently.

The Voice sighed deeply and said gently, "Everything follows after the Culture, my son.
The Woke Army is powerful today because of yesterday's Sanity.
Today's Insanity, like you've just seen demonstrated, has only weakness and decline for the future".

With that, the voice suddenly vanished, and I decided to wake up myself, having had enough of the festival of Lunacy I had just witnessed.
