Faith as we all know is a loyalty to a cause or a person. Faith is also said to be fidelity to one’s promises.

The natural will say faith is the believe in something with which there’s no proof.

The regular believer will recite Hebrews 1:1 and state that faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things unseen.

These definitions scratch the subject of faith but none of it truly tell us what faith is. The natural mab makes a mockery of faith without understanding while the regular believer acknowledges faith without clear cut knowledge of what faith is.

Faith according to the Bible is substantial and its an evidence. This means faith has an actual existence. So what then is faith?

The key to understanding what truly faith is, is to try to interpret the verse in Hebrews. Faith is said to be a substance of what we hope for, therefore we must first define what we hope for to know what faith is.

As a believer in Jesus, we have just one hope, and that hope is salvation. Therefore, faith is the substance of salvation. This means faith is that which we have that assures us that we’re saved.

Faith is also said to be an evidence of things unseen. Everything within the universe is seen. Most of the things we clamor to have faith in are seen. There’s only one thing that cannot be seen even though we try. That thing is said to be God. So faith is the evidence of the unseen God.

When we combine these definitions together, then we can say faith is the substance of salvation and the evidence of God. There’s only one thing that fits both descriptions; the Holy Spirit. Therefore, Faith is the Holy Spirit.

Faith is the gift just as the Holy Spirit is the gift. We walk and are led by faith just as we walk and are led by the spirit. We’re born in faith just as we’re born in spirit.

Faith is not what the natural man thinks it’s, faith is the Holy Spirit. A person without the Holy Spirit does not and cannot have faith. Even if he tries then it’ll be an unsubstantial one which of course isn’t faith because faith is substance.

The word faith as used in the bible simply refers to what we call religion today.

Hence, there is the Christian faith which is the Christian religion.
There was the Jewish faith originated from the old covenant through Abraham, what is known as Judaism today.

There are several terms in the bible that was used in place of faith or religion.
Jesus mentioned the kingdom of heaven in his parables, he was referring to the Christian religion on earth.

The term "mark of the beast" in the book of revelation also referred to a dominant religion that persecuted Christianity back then in bible days, during the days of Paul the apostle.

The great statue vision of Daniel and the great kings as prophesied by Daniel referred to several religions battling themselves for supremacy, but one of them because wax stronger than others, that one is Christianity.

The word covenant or testament also refers to religion, for instance the old and the new covenants are two different religion entirely

Little wonder it is said that without faith it is impossible to please God, obviously, without religion it is impossible to please God.

And guess one fascinating thing about religion or faith?
It does not depend on anything you do or how much you actively go to church, it depend on that very thing you believe in your heart.

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

FAITH ~ is what we trust with our figurative hearts and it's obvious to the onlookers that we're motivated by something but it's not visible to them! Hebrews 11:1

Antonym is:

CREDULITY ~ delusional thought that's unfounded yet the bearer keep acting upon it perfunctorily!

Thanks for taking time to write this but I’ll propose you read the article again pls. It’s clear that your opine is quite different and I suppose that’s a kind of argument. Christian faith; Jews faith or whatever faith you mentioned are just human fallacies. None of that is true. Faith is one. You either have him or not.

Faith according to the Bible is the Holy Spirit, the gift given to every believer in Jesus. What you’ve mentioned is unbiblical but understandable

Quite an apt definition yet purely unbiblical. Faith is what is given to every believer in Jesus according to the Bible and that gift is the holy spirit. Your views are worldly but they have nothing to do with what the Bible calls faith. The topic is about what actually faith is and not what the world thinks faith should be.

we are on the same page, only that you didn't point out exactly what is unbiblical.
Is it mark of the beast i mentioned or Daniels prophecy or about God's kingdom as mentioned in Jesus parables?

Well it sounds real and logical because that's exactly how Apostle Paul defined it! Hebrews 11:1

FAITH according to God's word is not just a GIFT but what is planted in the hearts of those hearing the TRUTH found in God's word:
However, how will they call on him if they have not put faith in him? How, in turn, will they put faith in him about whom they have not heard? How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach?
Romans 10:14

So FAITH is part of the nine QUALITIES of the FRUIT of God's Holy Spirit:

But the FRUIT of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, FAITH, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Surely faith will grow in the hearts of people who love the TRUTH and definitely it's never a possession of all kinds of people! 2Thessalonians 3:2 smiley

Excellent, yet faith is the gift (Ephesians 2:8-9). Yeah faith is part of what the Spirit represents. The holy spirit is the faith that’s given to a believer in Jesus

Then later

I actually did get your point. I was just stating that faith is the actual gift that’s given. You said it’s not a gift but something planted in our heart. The gift is what’s planted in our heart. We never had him. We’re gifted him and this is why it’s planted in our heart

Jesus said the bolded not me:
Matthew 13:23

FAITH comes by hearing! Romans 10:17
So there's no way anyone can have faith when he is not ready to listen to the word of God! Romans 10:14

BELIEVE IN YOUR SOURCE OF LIFELIHOOD AND PROTECTION. "DON'T BITE THE FINGERS THAT FEED YOU". IT'S AN UNWRITTEN LAW OF GOD. ADAM AND EVE FAILED THE LAW OF FAITH. GOD ESTABLISHED IT ON ISAAC AS ARTICLE OF FAITH FOR JEWISH JUDAISM. UNTIL GOD BROUGHT IN CHRIST, THE FAITH, THE HOPE, PEACE OF GOD AND GOD IN LOVE.
