Nnamdi Kanu's IPOB movement was very inclusive but most Igbos wanted a nation of their own. Nnamdi Kanu happened to be very vocal about his intent but most igbos never liked that idea.

Why should anyone be in doubt of how minorities feel about Igbos?
Don't we have the result of 1979 and 1983 presidential election where Zik couldn't get up to 5% of votes casted in minority areas?

How can MNK and IPOB claim to be abreast with history and they didn't Know something as simple as that?

My point is that the exposure of Ndiigbo to hate of minorities by trying to accommodate them in Biafra, was a very unnecessary and ignorant move by IPOB. It was very humiliating for me as a proud Igbo man, to watch IPOB eat the faeces of minorities and drink their urine even as these hateful lots kept denigrating and demonizing Ndiigbo, just because MNK had it in his head that his own version of Biafra MUST include these minorities.
It was very embarrassing to watch. Worst still, IPOB members had it in them that MNK was infallible, such that all attempts by proud Igbos here to call off the bluff of minorities who IPOB had inflated their ego and Sense of importance, were met by such Igbo person being labelled an AFONJA by IPOB members here.
You can imagine an old member like me whose loyalty to Igbo interests on this forum has been unshakable since I joined since 2007, had my Igbo identity put in question because I said the Minorities are insignificant to Igbo interests and Biafra.

Ijaw Igbophobia has nothing to do with GEJ ascendancy.
It predated it. Asari Dokubo admitted during GEJ 2011 campaign that he was brought up like most Ijaw people with the indoctrination to hate and vilify Ndiigbo.
The Igbo sheer number and population always elicited the feeling of insecurity on many minorities.
They feel they can be assimilated by Igbos.

I also noticed that there has been a rapid rise in Ikwerrephobia among Ndiigbo since the past one year.
Not only have Ndiigbo learnt to accept that Ikwerres are not and cannot be Igbo, we have also learnt to appropriately return their hate for us with even greater hate.

I was in an Igbo group few days ago when Ikwerre issue was brought up. Nnaa, if you see how toxic and repugnant many Igbo youths were at the mere suggestion that Ikwerre were Igbos eh?
I was just nodding my head in happiness and satisfaction. My efforts all these years were not in vain afterall.
Hate MUST be countered by nothing more other than bigger hate.

The modern Igbo youths were not well informed about these groups by our parents, many of us grew up with innocence and were exposed to burning hate on trying to relate with these groups.

Bro! The hate is real, and I am glad igbos now know this. Just two weeks ago I was telling my mum and her elder sister about Biafra and the ipob movement and how I am in support. I saw the disappointment in my auntie's face. She started telling me that she hates the Igbo's, that the Igbos used to oppress them as minorities then in the eastern region. She said that she was denied of scholarship because she wasn't Igbo. And a lot of people still share this unfounded belief about the Igbos. And so I asked her, how improved is the ijaw man now compared to when we were part of the eastern region? How many scholarships do we get now? How much development do have now? This is over 50years since we left the eastern region, even at that, our oil was not significant as revenue to the eastern region. So, how did the Igbo oppressed us, I asked? She couldn't answer. They never took our land, they never killed us, as one Nigeria is doing. They never said our oil is theirs as the northerner is claiming. The anoying thing about the minority hatred on the Igbos is that their lives are not any better than the Igbo man. Not educationally, not in travel and life experiences. 50 solid years, yet no minority tribe can say they have become a super people with their freedom from the Igbo domination.

The way I see it is thst the idea of Niger Delta minorities hating Igbos is a subjective thing. Sure some of them do, but not all. I dont like to judge based on Nairaland where a Kanuri man cab easily claim to be Ijaw, or a Berom, claim to be Ibibio. I like to judge by video

If you go to face book and search for 'coastal Biafrans tv' you will find Ijaws, Ogoni's etc who are campaigning to be part of Biafra through interactive live video sessions with their people

No igbo man is forcing them the igbos don't have such powers what nmk is agitating for is a referudum in what used to be the old eastern region which the south south was once part of.

This is what I don't understand about the Igbo.

They are a brilliant race of people, industrious, and very numerous. In fact, it is their sheer numbers that we in the North truly feel intimidated by. How can a tribe with a only a handful of states be so numerous in EVERY state in this country?

That aside, the fact is that Igbo are a majority tribe, fighting for and allying with small minorities who often times are not grateful that they have a major tribe courting them. If Igbo were truly smart, they would play the game like a majority, by linking up with the other 2 major tribes and taking what they want from any minority.

The way I see it is thst the idea of Niger Delta minorities hating Igbos is a subjective thing. Sure some of them do, but not all. I dont like to judge based on Nairaland where a Kanuri man cab easily claim to be Ijaw, or a Berom, claim to be Ibibio. I like to judge by video

One way to see this is the issue of Biafra. There is a growing movement of the minorities on social media who want to follow Igbos into Biafra. If you go to face book and search for 'coastal Biafrans tv' you will find Ijaws, Ogoni's etc who are campaigning to be part of Biafra through interactive live video sessions with their people

When you go to Idu Biafra tv(Edo Biafra tv), you will see Edo's like Omote, Uwasofia and Onajite, leading a movement for Edo and Delta state to be part of Biafra.

Would all these people be agitating to be with Igbos in Biafra if they hated Igbos?

Those people are irrelevant if the minorities in the south south really want to be part of biafra let their traditional and political leaders speak for them.

Yes. I was impressed with how we handled the PIB bill.

I expect such maturity going forward.
I also noticed that when some people were all over the internet crying about how the PIB was unfair to them, Ndiigbo maintained a golden silence, knowing fully well that it isn't really our battle.

This our generation has learnt a lot of lessons within the last two decades that would serve Ndiigbo well for eternity.
