Hello.

You will need a Schengen Visa (not Schengen Transit Visa) to transit between two European countries. Your Canadian visa doesn’t exempt you. I suspect your flight is with KLM or Air France. A Schengen visa cost 40k and takes about 2-3 weeks to process.

You will need to reroute your flight to go through only one Schengen country, then you will be exempt from Schengen transit visa due to your Canadian visa. I confirmed this on Netherlands Immigration page. They have a software there that produces an answer based on the information provided.

I will advise you reroute your flight to only Amsterdam. Getting a Schengen visa may be cheaper than rerouting, but there is the possibility of missing your flight when checking in and checking out if the layover period is short.

If you haven’t booked your flight yet, avoid going to two European countries and transiting through US($140 transit visa)

Thank you so much. I was worried and decided to visit the Airline office. They advised I reroute the flight and pass through just one EU country too.

Thanks, guys, for the help. Much appreciated.

Please don't inform ircc for now. As at this minute, you do not have a valid LOA. Let them work with what they have which was valid as at the time of submission. Biko, Edakun.

IRCC usually does verifications from the institutions so this can also be a dangerous move.

Hello guys. I am new here and will appreciate your help in answering some questions. I am mostly familiar with the US immigration stuff so please pardon my ignorance here.

1.) I want to know if IELTS is required to attend schools in Canada. Does IRCC require that every student have IELTS even if the schools you are applying to does not require it?

2.) I currently live in the US. Would there be any issue if I am sponsoring my brother who lives in Nigeria to Canada? Would be be issues relating to home-ties?

3.) I know US mostly welcome students going for STEM programs. Is that the same in Canada or does Canada not care if you are going for a non-STEM program?

Hello Everyone, I wish to ask a question about this quarantine exemption. I’m fully vaccinated, and from the IRCC page I understand that I still have to make a quarantine plan.

Do I book a quarantine hotel and make 11 days booking for a quarantine Airbnb? Will I be able to get a refund from the hotels. I read through some hotel terms and conditions and going by the T&C, I won’t be able to cancel the bookings or request for a refund on the day I arrive.

Fully vaccinated ppl that have travelled recently, how did you manage the planning? I need tips, advice, instructions, whichever.

Thanks for your time.

From what I have read, you can book 3 days hotel and pay with a dollar card and also pay on arrival. But if you are fully vaccinated, you will be exempted by officers on arrival. You’ll be provided with kits to do the 11 days at your own location.

@lianna2020 can tell you more on this tho

PPR Alert!!!

Hello Everyone!

So, a friend introduced me to this forum two weeks ago and I have taken my time since then to visit it once in a while to read people's stories and pray along
Before now, I hardly ever logged into my IRCC account to check updates, since I believed that they would email me regarding any update. So you can imagine my confusion when I started seeing posts saying "passed medicals" , "started eligibility review". I became frantic at one point oh. I was so worried that I told myself that I would send a webform today, only for me to get a PPR notification.

PPR baby!!! Dropped around 9am today #EChoke!!! First Time Applicant.

Application submitted: Thursday, 11th March, 2021.

Biometrics: Monday, 15th March, 2021.

NSE request: Thursday, 25th March, 2021.

Upfront Medicals: 13th April, 2021 and passed 18th April, 2021.

Eligibility review updated yesterday, 13th July, 2021.

APPLICATION DETAILS:

University Of Windsor, Master Of Medical Biotechnology, Fall, 2021. My dad is my sponsor and I paid the compulsory CA$4k tuition deposit. My monthly salary is #87,500 and I attached 3 months payslip and 6months MBS of salary acct. Bin working in a community pharmacy since December 2018 and I also attached a reference letter from my employer.

-SOP 6pages
-Sponsor's personal bank statement: 19.5m
-My own statement: 4.3m (4.1 from my sponsor as living expenses and I had 200k)
-Sponsor's landed property (like 10) and I claimed itz worth over 300m (no evaluation)
-I did a deed of gift from my sponsor to me, for a piece of land, and I back dated to April 2018, so I claimed my sponsor gave me as a graduation gift, since I graduated in Sept 2017.
-CAC docs of sponsor's companies, with one being a good hotel which I claim itz over 200m, and also noted in my SOP dat i own a 10% shares with docs to back it.
-UK travel history and old visas with the last expired 2yrs which I ddnt evn use.
- I schooled in Cotonou, Benin Republic, So I added the stamps too.
-My siblings; First as a director in one of my dad's company, I am d 2nd, 3rd as manager in anoda of my dad's company, 4th, a recent graduate from a private uni in Nigeria (Nothing to support d claims, jst family pics in Naija, UK and my pics at work wearing my white coat)
-I flaunted my sponsor well!!!!!!
-My SOP was really directed to Nigeria and Africa. I talked abt how much we are dependent on imported medicines, and how we were handicapped during the pandemic, since our major importers, India and China couldn't export bcuz the covid hit dem so badly. I talked abt our drug importation of over $500m in 2018 and expected hike of over $1bn in year 2030 and compared it to our export of only $800k (With reference links).
-I talked about the AfCFTA which is signed already and how it will be good for manufacturing should be accelerated in Nigeria....Nd also, how I can easily export across Africa since my father is a freight forwarding mogul and how this will contribute to my country's GDP.

I got 4 US F-1 visa denials, ans the last one was in November, 2020. Same biotechnology course, but issues av been that I wasn't well informed, I was using my dad's corporate bank statement. I jst see say v.o go dey gbadun my speech for interview, dem go say mk I bring bank statement, if I just show dem, dem go say "sorryy....". One time sef, my passport sleep embassy, e no still come back wit Us Visa......Aiye le o!!!! Datz y I jst used personal statement now as I got more informed!

Thanks to everyone on this platform.
Special thanks to @insanity this is a special being, he touched my SOP like itz for him, nd baba no collect shishi, God bless u bro.

1. Canadian schools exempts Nigerian applicants from IELTS requirements. However, IRCC requires IELTS for an expidited processing route called NSE but we've come to realise there's no significant difference in processing time for most people that provided the NSE requirements i.e MyBankStatement certificate and IELTS. I wouldn't encourage anyone to go write the exam simply because of visa processing but if it's available, one should submit it.

2. You being in USA shouldn't be an issue.
3. Canada welcomes students coming for all sorts of programs.

Hello everyone. I’m new here as my friend introduced me to this platform yesterday. I got my refusal letter from IRCC yesterday and I’m planning on reapplying immediately because I’ve already started taking my lectures online and I really do want to continue.
I wasn’t well informed before I applied for my visa. I didn’t write SOP, I didn’t show I had ties here and all. Please what can I do right now besides writing the SOP. I’m not working so I’m not earning money monthly but I used my Dad’s statement of account and it was over 4m that was shown on the statement of account. So could this be another reason I was rejected? Maybe the money’s not enough or something? I submitted the documents they requested I even wrote IELTS and passed it but I didn’t submit many other things like my additional qualifications, my Dad’s property documents and co. I just got to know all these now. Please I need advice, I want to reapply as soon as possible.

So sorry about the delay.

The first thing you need to do is to order for your gcms note to know the exact reason/s for your refusal.(for links on how to order your gcms note check previous posts). You definitely need to submit your own statement of account. If you have any work experience get a letter from them saying you were volunteering.

I don't think 4m in your father's account is enough. Remember you have to show enough money for your Tuition (input the figure), living expenses for at least a year (10,000cad) and some money for flight expenses ( about 3000cad). Do the calculation.

Also are you the only dependent on your father? Why will your father spend all the 4mil in his account for only you? How about his other dependent. Have you paid your Tuition? Those are the things the VO will consider.

You may need to get a cosponsor...... Preferably another close relative.

Read the beginning of this thread for documents you need to submit if you are using a sponsor.

Finally I think you should contact @Frankrobbn, I don't know him but there are testimonies of people he has helped (a paid service though) with the LOE and Visa refusals and pulled through.
